Bloodlines Online

Chapter 1: A New Game.

As he was scrolling through the videos his screen was taken by another advertisement.

A beautiful woman in a luxurious dress appearing on the screen began to speak with the same script as always, a script he heard so much he could recite it in his sleep.

"Bloodlines Online! The latest arrival of the vrmmorpg world!"

"Take part in the newest online experience as you take part in the ultimate way to experience your true self."

The screen cuts to black as always before revealing the same woman in a street that looks closer to an old European village.

The woman as always turns to face the camera and is now as an elf wearing a skimpy dress.

The teenager groans at the sight, cringing over the blatant attempt at sexual marketing.

"Bloodlines Online will allow you to become what you truly desire, never comfortable as a human? Be a beautiful elf or a majestic beastfolk!"

The screen began to scroll through a number of races from humans to elves to dwarves and even non human like beastfolk, orcs and even demons.

"Just remember everyone, unlike most vr games you can be your true self in this one. We know how some countries feel about surgery so this game will allow it!"

The scene then shows a relatively unattractive man before the screen fades to black, when reappearing that same man now appeared as a savage orc.

Another scene showing a skinny girl before the faded screen reveals a regal male lion beastkin with a flowing mane.

"Now obviously we cannot allow people to take advantage of such things to make themselves more appealing in the game so when you register the game would scan your thoughts as all normal registration procedures do, the game will set your characters form to be that of your deepest thoughts!"

Again the young man cringed as every now and again he saw the rants about this feature online from people who had their brains rotted by the political debates.

"Now thats obviously not the only unique thing about bloodlines online!"

"The name itself refers to a very amazing feature that our devs took years to develop. The bloodline feature!"

"When registering for the game you will obviously have your dna taken as part of the procedure to ensure that your account is linked directly to you rather than being device based. When this is done your physical specifications as well as your genetic code will be matched with the game!"

"When matched with the game the genetic code as well as your specifications will be used to match you with a bloodline that you would have had if you had actually been born inside of it!"

She then began to levitate in place woth her hair blowing in the wind.

"My bloodline for example when taken as an elven race was only simple and i got the affinity for wind magic but you can get much more!"

The screen then fades again before showing many scenes of glorious battle from overhead or the side as if spectating the chaos and finally to end it off the title: "Bloodlines Online!"

Sighing again he stood up to return to work.

As much as he hated that lowest common denominator crap that modern game advertisers used he did find the game interesting which is why he bought it.

Once his shift was over her planned to go home and try it out since the release would be for later that day.

As he returned to the register to continue his shift he saw one of the patrons suddenly lean back in their seat closing their eyes.

The restaurant he worked in might not be the most expensive but it was still seen as a classy establishment so part of his job description was to watch for vagrants and... worse.

He approached the man who seemed to be sleeping and put on his best customer service smile before placing a gentle hand on the mans shoulder.

"Sir are you alright?"
