Chapter 642: 636: The Bold Loach
Across a majestic mountain range shrouded in fog and seldom tread by man, a Green Cloud Vermilion Bird swiftly sliced through the clouds, flying into the distance.
However, at this moment, the hazy mist suddenly surged, easily ensnaring and enveloping the Class VI Green Cloud Vermilion Bird.
Accompanied by a sharp and tragic screech, a large amount of blood appeared within the murky mist as a Weird Bird, drastically different from the former and constantly exuding an aura of terror and distortion, burst out of the fog and arrived at an unnamed cave deep in the mountain range.
The next second, the Weird Bird transformed into a shadowy figure whose face was obscured.
“You’re too slow, Earth Puppet,” a figure in a black robe emerged from the corner of the cave.
But the black robe might as well have been absent, given that no one could ignore the mature and prominent curves it ostensibly concealed.
“Yo, Ice Shine, old demon, you’re actually still alive!”
Earth Puppet instantly appeared in front of Ice Shine, “I thought you died under Max Goldsmith’s pursuit, just like those lunatics who lost their minds!”
“Wishing for my death isn’t that simple,” Ice Shine turned and walked ahead, speaking as she went, “Did you find any trace of the Bodhi Tree and the Firewood Kylin?”
“No,” Earth Puppet sighed.
“That genius called David Jones is really cautious, staying at Rosewood College all day, leaving no opportunity to take him away, let alone interrogate him about Kylin intel.”
“There’s been a great deal of activity within the sect recently, so you don’t need to worry about the Kylin matter for now.”
Earth Puppet halted, his tone filled with surprise, “Is the Sacred Master planning to give up the arrangements in Rosewood City and Skypillar Island?”
“No, on the contrary, the plan continues as before,” Ice Shine led Earth Puppet to a dim and sinister high platform, upon which sat seven seats emblazoned with a red moon.
Above the platform stood a throne enveloped in a faint mist, where an aged figure sat, whose life’s fire flickered like a candle in the wind, and looked as though it could extinguish at any moment.
“Earth Puppet, Ice Shine, you two are too slow!” A burly man with a voice as rugged as the clashing of metals and stones expressed his dissatisfaction.
Hearing this, a woman with a fiery temper and an exceptionally pale complexion calmly responded, “Gold Ghost, spare us a few words, and don’t waste everyone’s time.”
Gold Ghost let out a sneer, his gaze turning to Fire Charm, “That’s right, with your weak strength in the plan, you’ll definitely be the first to die, so your time is indeed scarce!”
“Enough, the plan has already started, now we should talk about serious matters.”
The Sacred Master of the Sacred Soul Sect opened his tightly shut eyes, and the Five-Hells Crown on his head trembled slightly, quieting the powerful individuals present.
Only Earth Puppet looked at the skeletal remains around the throne, which were no more than a lower half, his eyes flashing with an almost imperceptible sorrow.
“There can be no changes to the plan, whether we find the Bodhi Tree and Kylin or not, the Fusang Wood and Red Flame Crane can still meet the requirements,” said the Sacred Master, making the strong individuals present stand up straight in surprise.
The Fusang Wood is a Fire-element treasure capable of containing the perennial sun, a Level IX Immortal Divine Wood with the ability to capture the essence of heaven, earth, sun, and moon.
In comparison to the former, even the Red Flame Crane might be a few notches below the ultimate Emperor of the Fire element in legend, but it remained an elusive treasure coveted by legendary powers.
“The Sacred Master is really going all out to create the God Spirit, it seems he’s digging deep into his reserves!” Ice Shine’s eyes, hidden beneath the black robe, narrowed slightly.
Gold Ghost’s fingers tapped the table as he thought to himself, “Old age does bring illness indeed, this ‘god-creation’ business is truly laughable!”
“It’s a pity that the Sacred Master has kept the god-creation plan completely secret; we can’t get any concrete information. I hope the Guild receives the intel in time.”
As Gold Ghost was lost in thought, the Sacred Master started to speak of important matters.
“The task I’ve ordered must be completed within three days, understood?”
“Understood, everything on my end is prepared!” Ice Shine responded.
“The same here, I’ve got my hands on the defensive layout of the strong individuals on Skypillar Island!” Earth Puppet added.
“The God Breeding Mysterious Beasts have already been bred, with ten heads. Given enough resources and three more days, I am confident I can increase their number to twenty,” Fire Charm quickly stated, sensing the Sacred Master’s gaze.
The Sacred Master was quite pleased and looked toward the only strong character who hadn’t responded yet, “Gold Ghost, what about you?”
“The seal on the Eastern Forbidden Zone has been completely deciphered,” Gold Ghost stated succinctly.
“A real breakthrough or a fake one?” The Sacred Master laughed.
A chill ran through Gold Ghost’s heart, but his expression didn’t change.
He immediately commanded the puppet, which was inhabited by his psychic power, to self-destruct.
“Buzz!” A black light, faintly carrying the sound of beastial roaring and wailing, suddenly engulfed Gold Ghost.
“Found you, Gold Ghost!”
No sooner had the Sacred Master finished speaking than the burly man’s face showed an incredulous expression, and then his breath ceased completely.
“Good, this meeting is hereby concluded. I hope that the next time we meet, everyone will have ascended to the Divine Realm.” After scanning the others, the figure of the Sacred Master suddenly disappeared, leaving behind a bunch of strong characters looking at each other in bewilderment.
…
Having obtained the Seven-turns Soul Refining Liquid, David Jones returned to the Mesona Space.
“Roar!”
Hearing the roar of the Firewood Kylin as loud as thunder, David Jones subconsciously activated his Illusion-Piercing Eye.
“Hey, not bad. It has reached middle-level Class IV. It seems this stay in the silent firestone cage wasn’t in vain.”
Hearing that, the Firewood Kylin gave David Jones a white-eyed look.
Easy for you to say, being stuck in this cage for days will show you how precious freedom is!
“Roar…” (When will you let me out?)
As a noble auspicious beast of heaven and earth, Solaar had no desire to remain caged forever.
Moreover, this human before it was somewhat strange, giving it a sense of familiarity, but no matter what, it could never become a human’s pet; that was its bottom line.
David Jones had intended to continue ignoring it, but seeing it willing to initiate communication, he decided to temporarily stop working on ripening the Bodhi Tree and turned his head to look at Rainbow.
“The Firewood Kylin is an auspicious beast of heaven and earth. If I let it out, do you think it would repay kindness with ingratitude and burn all the mesona in my fields to the ground?”
The Firewood Kylin blinked its eyes, not expecting David Jones to continue caging it for that reason.
What a joke! It is an auspicious animal that punishes evil and promotes good, not a Ferocious Beast with an unchangeable nature. Why would it burn the fields for no reason?
Besides, David Jones hadn’t offended it. Thinking about it, he could at best be considered a sort of benefactor to it.
Thinking this, the Firewood Kylin, who had been PUA-ed by David Jones into reluctantly acknowledging a favor, raised its head high.
It had absolute confidence in the reputation of its kind among the Beasts and thought that it might soon gain its freedom.
However, Rainbow seriously considered it and, under the Firewood Kylin’s incredulous gaze, nodded.
“Squeak.” (It’s not impossible.)
The confident demeanor of the Firewood Kylin stiffened as it looked at Rainbow with increasing hostility.
“Roar!” (The honor of the Firewood Kylin family cannot be tarnished! I demand a duel with you!)
Solaar slapped its paw against the cage, its golden eyes wide as if it was about to breathe fire.
You little mudfish, how dare you sully my reputation in public!
