Transmigrating as the Younger Sister of a Bigshot with Multiple Identities

Chapter 905: I’m Here to Pick My Daughter Up

Gu Yang looked up and met Tong Rao’s slightly haggard eyes. Her brows were raised, and it was clear that not only had she failed to use the perfume Gu Yang had given her, but she was also struggling with another troubling issue.

Seeing Tong Rao approach directly, Gu Hongwei felt a twinge of annoyance. However, given the Tong family’s greater influence, he knew he couldn’t openly criticize her.

Gu Hongwei glanced at Gu Yang and asked, “Family Head Tong, is there an urgent matter that brings you here at this hour?”

“There is,” Tong Rao replied, her gaze fixed on Gu Yang. “I’m here to bring my daughter home.”

At her words, everyone except the eldest branch was stunned. Even Gu Hongwei looked perplexed.

Gu Zhaoming narrowed his eyes, studying Tong Rao with suspicion. “Isn’t your daughter in the detention center? Why come to our Gu family to pick her up?”

Gu Yang was also taken aback, unsure why Tong Rao suddenly wanted to claim her.

Tong Rao walked directly to Gu Yang and addressed the Gu family. “Gu Yang is my biological daughter. I’ve come specifically to bring her home.”

“What?!”

The smile on Gu Shuxue’s face froze. She stared at Gu Yang and Tong Rao in disbelief.

Wasn’t Family Head Tong supposed to be here to settle scores with Gu Yang? How did she suddenly become Gu Yang’s biological mother?

If Gu Yang became the daughter of the Tong Family Head, wouldn’t her status surpass Shuxue’s? Moreover, with Gu Yang having been raised by the Eldest Uncle’s family, her return to the Tong family would undoubtedly strengthen the first branch, leaving the second branch at an even greater disadvantage.

The second and third branches were left with mixed emotions.

Gu Hongwei, though surprised, saw it as preferable to acknowledge family ties rather than confront issues during the New Year.

“Then congratulations, Family Head Tong, on finding your long-lost daughter,” Gu Hongwei said diplomatically.

Gu Hongwei smiled and congratulated Tong Rao. He then turned to Gu Zhaoming and said, “Zhaoming, it’s fortunate that Gu Yang has found her biological parents.”

Gu Zhaoming and Ruan Xueling remained silent, not sharing the sentiment.

Ruan Xueling held Gu Yang’s hand and addressed Tong Rao with a forced smile. “Family Head Tong, you have two children of your own. Why are you only now seeking out our Yangyang?”

Tong Rao’s gaze lingered on the entwined hands of Ruan Xueling and Gu Yang, her discomfort evident.

“This is clearly my daughter,” Tong Rao said, her voice firm. “What was said in anger between Yangyang and me doesn’t change the fact that she has the Tong family’s blood. I can’t let her remain outside.”

Ruan Xueling noticed the emphasis on “my daughter” and tightened her grip on Gu Yang slightly. She forced a smile. “Really? Then why did Yangyang end up in Jin City?”

Tong Rao’s frustration was evident. “This is a private matter for the Tong family. If Yangyang wants to know more, I’ll explain when we get home. You don’t need to concern yourself with it.”

Gu Yang firmly held Ruan Xueling’s hand and stood beside her. “Madam Tong, I won’t be going with you.”

Between the biological mother she had never met and the adoptive mother who had been a true parent to her, Gu Yang chose to stand by Ruan Xueling.

The reaction from the second and third branches was one of shock. Even Gu Hongwei hadn’t anticipated Gu Yang’s refusal to go with Tong Rao.

Gu Shuxue, meanwhile, was consumed with jealousy. She had long dreamed of being the Tong family’s daughter, but Gu Yang seemed indifferent to that status.
