Chapter 724: Sister, Are You Planning to Publicly Give Me A Status?

Before departing, Xiao Yize requested Gu Jin to meet him at the Qingya Residence.

Considering their acquaintance and Xiao Yize’s friendship, Gu Jin agreed to see him off.

Raising his glass, Xiao Yize smiled, “Miss Gu, I’ll be waiting for you in the capital.”

Gu Jin reciprocated the gesture, meeting his expectant gaze. “Have a safe trip.”

Though just a simple farewell, it left Xiao Yize in high spirits for the rest of the day.

As the summer wore on, the cicadas’ chorus grew louder with each passing day. Unbeknownst to them, late June had already arrived.

Under Gu Jin’s skilled care as a Godly Doctor, Ruan Xueling’s recovery progressed smoothly.

Following her discharge, Gu Zhaoming escorted Ruan Xueling and their children to the Ruan family’s ancestral residence to visit Old Master Ruan. Subsequently, father and son-in-law engaged in a lengthy discussion in the study.

Old Master Ruan expressed his endorsement of Gu Zhaoming’s plan to return to the capital and reclaim their influence.

June 21st, the summer solstice, marked the 18th birthday of the Little Blood Bank.

The previous year, Gu Yang had promised Feng Jue that she would date him once he reached adulthood. She had secretly noted down his birthday at that time.

However, as Feng Jue’s flirtatious nature got the better of him, Gu Yang couldn’t resist agreeing to be with him earlier than planned.

Before he became involved with Gu Yang, Feng Jue had eagerly anticipated his 18th birthday. But after starting his relationship with her, his birthday lost its significance.

Having grown up in an orphanage, his birthday held a different meaning for Feng Jue—it was the day he was adopted by the orphanage, as well as the day he was abandoned.

Thus, on this particular day, Feng Jue completely forgot about his own birthday.

Observing his oversight, Gu Yang chose not to remind him. Instead, she simply invited him out to spend time together.

With the college entrance exams behind them, Feng Jue had been preoccupied with the Dream Seeking Group. Gu Yang, on the other hand, had been frequenting the hospital to visit Ruan Xueling and care for Tong Wan. As a result, they hadn’t been on a proper date in a while.

Now that Gu Yang initiated their outing, Feng Jue readily set aside his other commitments and followed Gu Yang’s lead.

“Sister, where are we headed?” he inquired.

“Ah Jue, would you like to go shopping with me at the mall?”

“Okay, Sister,” Feng Jue acquiesced.

Gu Yang escorted Feng Jue to Jin City’s preeminent shopping destination, Jin Chang Mall, which happened to be one of her sister’s enterprises.

Preferring to keep her expenditures within the family, Gu Yang decided to patronize her sister’s business for their shopping excursion.

Amidst a spree of purchases, Gu Yang selected an array of luxury brand clothing and footwear, all in matching couple styles.

When Gu Yang informed the shop assistant of her intention to procure couple outfits, Feng Jue’s eyes sparkled with excitement. Their clandestine relationship had yet to afford them the opportunity to wear matching attire.

Observing Feng Jue’s eager anticipation, he appeared hopeful as he addressed Gu Yang, “Sister, are you considering publicly acknowledging our relationship?”

Longing for their bond to be openly acknowledged, Feng Jue yearned for the day when their relationship would be openly recognized.

Gu Yang blinked, momentarily hesitating to shatter Feng Jue’s misconception, but ultimately refrained from correcting him.

Gu Yang felt that now wasn’t the right time. At least, not today.

She feared that publicly revealing their relationship might turn their planned birthday celebration into a melodramatic showdown between the father and son of a wealthy family.

Knowing Gu Zhaoming’s temperament, Gu Yang surmised that if Feng Jue were to cross him, Gu Zhaoming would likely retaliate harshly, perhaps even resorting to violence.

Suppressing her concerns, Gu Yang feigned a stern glare at Feng Jue. “So, if we don’t make our relationship public, you won’t wear couple outfits with me?”

Feng Jue’s mind raced with a flurry of thoughts, each one expressing his fondness for his sister. “Damn, my sister is so adorable,” he internally exclaimed.

With a keen sense of self-preservation, he swiftly shook his head vigorously and replied in a gentle, obedient tone, “I’m already thrilled to wear couple outfits with you. As for the rest, I’ll defer to your judgment.”
