Chapter 569: Du Lan’s Choice

Chapter 569: Du Lan’s Choice

Gu Yang smiled. “I’m glad you’re willing to face the world soberly.”

The girl’s smile was warm and pure, like the warm sun on the first snow of winter.

Du Lan seemed to be infected by her smile. Her gaze landed on his father, mother, and the man. His eyes gradually revealed warmth. “You’re right. There are still people waiting for me to come home.”

Gu Yang followed her gaze and took another look at the middle-aged man.

She had heard Xiao Yize and Ji Linbai talking about Du Lan’s family.

He was not Du Lan’s brother, but Du Lan’s childhood sweetheart, Li Hang, who was about to get married.

The two elders were both teachers. Du Lan was the only daughter of the two elders. She had good grades since she was young and had graduated from university only two years before the accident.

Her future had just begun. She should have a happy family.

After she went missing, many people said that she ran away with a man outside, but Li Hang did not believe them and kept looking for her. Later, when the two elders were not in good health, he was the one who took care of them.

He was still unmarried. The two elders also treated him as their own son.

Li Hang had always thought that he would never see Du Lan again in his life.

He was already prepared to send her parents off in her place. He did not expect that halfway through his life, he could still get what he wanted.

Du Lan did not expect Li Hang to still be waiting for her after so many years. After learning about her unbearable past, there was no disgust in his eyes, only heartache and hatred.

“When Little Lan is discharged from the hospital, we’ll go register our marriage.” Li Hang said to Gu Yang and Ji Linbai, “If the doctor is free, you’re welcome to come to our house for a drink.”

Gu Yang and Ji Linbai smiled politely. “Congratulations.”

Gu Yang looked at the warm scene of the family and sighed helplessly in her heart. He had no choice but to break the atmosphere. “Sun Xi will be discharged today. You’re legally related by blood, so let me tell you.”

The family was obviously stunned.

Sun Xi was the youngest son of Du Lan and Sun Jianmin. He was also treated in this hospital. Of course, they knew this.

However, to the Du family, those sons were not their emotional relatives.

After all, the child was not born under Du Lan’s will. It carried the blood of the other half.

Some even witnessed Sun Jianmin’s evil deeds and Du Lan’s miserable state, but they were indifferent and even helped cover for the villain.

Although it was not right to generalize things, their existence for Du Lan represented that unbearable past which could not be erased.

Gu Yang felt the need to ask. “He’s about to be sent to the orphanage. Do you want to take a look?”

Li Hang looked at Du Lan. “Little Lan, I went to see Little Xi. He’s different from them. He’s a good child. Should we bring him back too?”

He was willing to accept Du Lan’s child.

Du Lan pursed her lips and shook her head at Gu Yang. “I’m not going. We won’t meet again. It doesn’t matter if I go or not.”

Gu Yang nodded and didn’t say anything else.

Du Lan looked at Gu Yang in surprise. She knew that Gu Yang liked Sun Xi. “I thought you would persuade me to bring him home.”

“You didn’t have a choice back then, so I respect your choice now.” Gu Yang smiled.

Du Lan’s eyes flickered and her voice choked. “Thank you..”
