Building a Gaming Empire From Scratch

Chapter 342: 338: Thank you, anchor, for exploring the way for us!

Chapter 342: 338: Thank you, anchor, for exploring the way for us!

As he walked through the narrow door, he brushed past an overly plump, even somewhat fat woman.

The woman walked out arm in arm with a man, her huge butt squeezing Yi and causing him to stumble. If not for his timely reaction, reaching out to grab the door frame, he would have fallen flat on his face.

Under normal circumstances, Yi would have definitely given her a piece of his mind.

But now, eager to “broaden his horizons,” he just glared at the woman as he entered the disreputable nightclub, muttering to himself that even such fat women could find partners.

As he stepped through the entrance, he found himself in a slightly spacious hallway—spacious enough to accommodate only four people at most.

“Of course, in the case of such a fat woman as the one earlier, only two would fit at most,” Yi sneered internally.

After passing through another plain hallway and pushing open the thick soundproof curtain, he finally entered the nightclub’s interior.

The atmosphere suddenly became lively!

Customers mingled around tables clinking glasses, men and women clung close together on the dance floor, and amidst the sensual music, a heavy scent of perfume and the restless hormones in the air…

Every so often, a man and a woman would leave the dance floor or the tables, disappearing deeper inside.

There were even combinations of two men and a woman, or two women and a man, leaving together.

Yi and the audience were all amazed: “These people really know how to have a good time!”

But after exclaiming, Yi stood there, unsure of what to do next.

Just then, a man with a wide-open neckline and a deep plunge, exposing half his chest and some abdominal muscles, approached him, “Sir, did you walk into the wrong place?”

“Huh?” Yi was feeling a bit nervous, “No, I don’t think so?”

The man stood in front of him, subtly blocking his view of the club, “Are you here to have fun?”

“Yes, yes, yes!” Yi nodded repeatedly, “I’m here for fun.”

“But…” the man frowned, “I’m afraid we can’t accommodate you here.”

“What’s the matter?” Yi was a bit annoyed, “Are you looking down on me?”

“No, no, no, not at all!” The man shook his head repeatedly, “I absolutely don’t mean to discriminate against you. We totally respect people like you; after all, it’s all natural.”

Before Yi could interject, the man quickly continued, “But you also have to understand us. Most of our employees here aren’t like you, and we can’t attend to you!”

Seeing Yi’s irritated expression, the man hurriedly added, “Of course, if you really want to play here, we do have a couple of employees who can attend to you, but they’re both busy with other customers right now. You’ll have to wait.”

Yi felt his mind going into overload.

Not discriminating against me? Because I was born this way?

What do you mean?

Are you saying I am ugly?!

Most of the employees in your club aren’t like me?

Does it mean all of you are good-looking, and you don’t want to serve an ugly man like me?

There are only two of you who are ugly, so I have to wait till they’re free to serve me, right?

You still say you’re not discriminating against me!!

—Wait a minute!

Yi suddenly got goosebumps, remembering that there were two ugly employees, who were currently busy attending to customers…

Could one of them be that fat woman who bumped into me at the entrance?

When he came in, he had thought it strange of what kind of customers would be so into such a fat woman!

Did they mean to accommodate “ugly men”?

Or, Yi felt dismayed at the thought, accommodate me?

“Did you just say I’m as ugly as your fat woman employee?!” Yi was furious, how could they be so rude?!

Although I have no experience, shouldn’t customers be allowed to sit comfortably in such an irregular place? You bring a row of employees to show up, and the guest chooses the employee they like, right?

Are there any who despise customers for being ugly?

Is this how you do business?

“You’ve encountered Sister Fang?” The man’s following words, however, left Yi baffled.

“Sister Fang is not our employee, she’s our customer. The one who went out with her, Dong Zi, is our employee.”

“???” Yi was stunned.

There was too much information, and his brain was crashing.

“Hold on!” He raised his hand to stop the man in front of him from continuing, “Let me think, let me think…”

“So that fat woman is your customer, and you mainly serve female customers?”

The man blinked, nodded, and looked somewhat confused: You’ve already got your hands on our club, and you still don’t know what we do?

Yi felt his head spinning: So, you’re a pretty boy shop?

“And when you said your employees are different from me, you meant…”

“Aren’t you gay?” The man leaned in and whispered, “We do have two employees here with the same orientation as you, who can serve you. But please don’t spread the word; we’re all just trying to make a living.”

Yi’s mouth widened in shock; he couldn’t tell whether it was more surprising to be mistaken as gay or to find gay men working in a pretty boy shop.

It was only then that he noticed all the subtle incongruencies in the club:

While men and women were all over each other, a closer look revealed the differing appearances and figures of the women, while the men were all handsome and well-groomed, displaying their chests and abs, with fair skin and makeup.

That’s right! If this was a typical “naughty nightclub,” the person serving him, the customer, wouldn’t be a man!

Just as he was pondering, the man in front of him noticed something and happily waved to someone behind Yi.

Yi turned his head to see a heavily made-up man in a low-cut leather jacket and low-rise leather pants, with a sexy belt tied below his pectoral muscles, striding towards them quickly.

The man in front of him breathed a sigh of relief and spoke again, “Good, now that Pete’s here, you don’t have to wait.”

“Pete! Hey! This boss here is as rare as you, so you better entertain him well!”

Pete’s eyes lit up and he quickly stepped forward, grabbing Yi’s arm with both hands and hugging him, giving Yi a mysterious smile.

Yi shuddered violently, hastily pulling his arm free and vigorously rubbing the goosebumps on it.

“What the fuck!” He felt horrible!

Pete saw Yi pull away from his hand, puzzled and a little hurt, “What’s wrong? Are you dissatisfied with something about me?”

Dissatisfied?

Yi subconsciously glanced between Pete’s legs and, as if stabbed in the eye, his body violently leaned back and shut his eyes tightly!

Wailing in his heart: Why the hell did I look?!

I’m soiled now!!!

“I’m sorry! I went to the wrong place!” Yi shouted and stumbled, but moved quickly, almost rolling and crawling out of the dreadful place.

Rushing out the narrow door, he breathed the fresh air on the main street, feeling as if he had escaped a living hell.

He looked back at the unimpressive door and couldn’t help shivering, “So terrifying! It was like a nightmare!”

“What on earth was Cloud Dream thinking, opening such a shop?!”

“And that driver! If I ever meet you again, I’m going to beat you up every time I see you! You set me up, right?!”

Having walked quite far, Yi finally stopped and took several deep breaths before mustering the courage to look at the barrage of comments in the live broadcast room.

– He knew that the comments must be brutal right now, but as a professional anchor, he had to bravely face the gory, miserable reality!

“Hahahahaha!”

“Help! I can’t breathe from laughing!”

“I recorded the video! Wait for my live broadcast clips, brothers!”

“How big is the anchor’s psychological shadow?!”

“Why be a coward? Just go for it! Only cowards like women, real men go for men!”

“That’s so scary! Brothers, tell me, ‘Thank you, anchor, for exploring the way for us!’”

“Thank you, anchor, for exploring the way for us!”

“Thank you, anchor, for exploring the way for us!”

In this barrage of mocking comments, only a few analytical comments were mixed in:

“It’s probably because you took off your clothes in front of the driver, and he thought you were gay!”

“Obviously, a gay bar doesn’t meet the anchor’s ‘dishonest’ requirements, but a regular ‘dishonest’ shop wouldn’t serve gays either, so they sent you to a Pretty Boy Shop, I guess?”

“Makes sense!”

“Feel sorry for the ducks who serve fat women.”

“What’s there to pity? How do you know they don’t enjoy it?”

“Enjoy it my ass! It’s work! I’ve never met anyone who enjoys work! Even the most pleasurable thing becomes disgusting when it turns into work! Let alone serving this kind of ‘client’!”

The barrage of comments showed no signs of stopping, and the excitement of the audience was evident.

Yi looked at the overwhelming mocking and trolling statements, as well as the increasingly heartbreaking barrage of “Thank you, anchor, for exploring the way for us!” and could hardly hold back.

He felt as if he had used up a whole year’s worth of “social death quota” at once.

“I feel that my body and soul have suffered a great injury,” he paused, “Let’s end today’s live broadcast here, I need to heal my soul and inner spirit.”

“I’m sorry, everyone!”

Without any delay, he went offline in a second, and the live broadcast room went black!

This move is called – Speed Logging off!

“Did he just go offline and run for it?”

“Hey, even if he escapes, the temple will still catch him! Let’s continue tomorrow!”

“Hahaha, let’s spare him.”

“It’s not up to us, let’s see, he’s most likely going to be famous tomorrow!”

The live chat continued, but Yi hadn’t logged off…

He set his login status as “Invisible” and then flagged down another taxi.

“Master, take me to the best nightclub in Night City.” Yi stated his destination and quickly added, “A decent nightclub! A decent one!”

So much risk taken, and not a single benefit realized.

How could he be content to just log off like that?!

Even if it was just for healing his mental wounds, he needed the warm embrace of a virtual Little Sister!

Considering the extent of the previous shop, it shouldn’t be too much to ask for a warm hug, right?

Of course, if there was a chance to go further… he wouldn’t rule it out…

At this thought, he blinked, and unwillingly changed his request, saying to the driver, “But make sure it’s not ‘too’ decent, you know what I mean?”

Decent, but not “too” decent?

The driver pondered.

Decent – it should refer to a legally operated, tax-paying, honest shop.

Not too decent – the message should be that he doesn’t want a conventional nightclub.

Men go to nightclubs just for the women, and conventional nightclubs all offer that.

But this passenger specifically said he didn’t want a conventional club, so that must mean-

“Oh” The driver suddenly realized, “Got it!”

“I’m not bluffing, I know all the different types of shops in this city! Let’s go!”

With that, the driver stepped on the gas, heading straight for their destination!
