Chapter 489  It has Begun

Skill Name: Temporal Dilation Aura

Description: The skill allows the user to envelop himself in an aura of temporal distortion, making the user's very being become infused with temporal energy, causing the surrounding world to slow down up to a near-complete halt for him. The user can freely move without restriction, but each second in the Dilation state will come at the cost of the user's very essence being burned off to maintain it.

The new skill was broken through and through because while it needed Alex to burn at least one level each temporal second, it was active, but he could also increase the output and make it up to 25 levels for a single second, and that was where the skill truly shined.

When burning off a single level, Alex gained reaction speed, rivaling any peak Sixth Rank individual. When he was at his best, he could even go against an average early-stage Elemental Ruler. By using ten levels, Alex could match the speed of an early stage Eight Rank Ruler, and by using thirty levels each second, he could match a peak Eight Rank individual in although for just four seconds because, at most, he could only use a 100 levels, meaning no Rank demotion if he fails to stop using the skill in time.

Alex was enjoying the moment of acquiring such a great skill when Elder Darrien appeared out of thin air, and he instantly knew it was finally starting.

"It has begun," "The capital city Nova of Human Empire has been invaded with untamed chaos energy, which is the aftermath of the death of one of the Demon Generals," "The Empire guardians are dealing with the chaos energy, so the casualties would not be high but this also gives them the reason to sit out the main battle," Elder Darrien said, making Alex close the skill window and open the game forums, knowing the chaos had begun.

A Monarch was keeping watch over the area of the capital city, Nova, so an attack happening under his watch meant it was the work of another Monarch.

It had been two months and three weeks since Alex met with the Emperor, and two more weeks and a few days were left before the ancestral Real opening.

In the two and half months, Alex had almost achieved all he had set out to do, and all the planning and preparation to tackle the demons had been done two weeks before, and they were just waiting for the demons to kickstart their plan.

All three kingdoms and one Empire were under the watch of the four Monarchs, while all major cities had groups of expedition members appointed in them because the elders expected the demons to use the four Chaos Generals, who were now of no use to them, to create chaos as a distraction.

Alex had already played his part in this ordeal by bringing an army to stop the demons, so now that it had begun, all he could do was watch things unfold and pray for the best.

It did not take long before all three capital cities and tens of other cities began to ring with chaos as riots led by gangs of individuals began to massacre innocent civilians.

The teleportation centers were taken over, and communications were cut off, with the only source of such news being the players present in the said cities.

There was complete chaos, and no one knew why such a mass-scale attack was happening, and seeing the videos of burning city streets and criminals running rampant, Alex felt sick to his stomach.

The expedition members were spread throughout the continent, so it did not take long for various teams led by Elemental Rulers to reach the attacked cities and begin to deal with the situation.

Alex did not understand why the demons were making their move when the four locations of the essence stones were still hidden, leaving him to conclude that the chaos served some purpose.

The expedition leaders were on the move, searching far and wide for the smallest of clues, but even after twenty minutes of the attack starting, there was no news about any of the four essence crystals.

While Alex watched the official forum inundate with posts and videos of the various attacks and anxiously waited for news of essence crystals, his little sister Sophia was experiencing the worst day of her life that could change her life forever.

--------------------

Sophia was sitting inside a hotel, and she could be seen enjoying her meal of fried eggs, rice, and meat, shaking her head in delight from side to side, with a big smile stretched across her.

"Food is the best," Sophia said, her words nothing but inaudible gibberish.

"MY QUEEENNN," An ancient guttural voice tore through their mind of Sophia, forcing her to drop her fork and knife and instinctively clench her head.

"My Queen!" x3

Three voices simultaneously sounded before a cat and owl emerged on the table out of thin air, while the squirrel seated atop Sophia's shoulder also jumped down on the table.

"Someone is calling me,"

"He is in pain and feeling great sadness," Sophia said, tears filling her eyes, not from pain but the sorrow she suddenly felt after hearing the voice.

"MY QUEEENNN," The voice that was filled with pain and grief echoed once more, forcing Sophia to stand up, her breathing becoming rapid.

"He is outside," Sophia said and instantly commenced to move toward the exit, her legs being wobbly, causing her lose her footing, but before she could fall, darkness engulfed her amidst the concerned voices of the surrounding bystanders.

"Bell, deal with them," A female voice of authority sounded before the cat vanished, leaving behind the crimson squirrel.

Sophia and Sparkle watched from the darkness of the void as a dark elf and a towering wolf of pitch-dark flames emerged in the center of the city, and the very next moment, a gray-robed figure with a bald head and ponytail also made his entrance.

The dark elf smiled at the pony-tailed individual before he disappeared, and in an instant, the gray-robed individual also vanished, leaving behind the towering wolf, who stood like a majestic statue.

"MY Queen, this servant asks for forgiveness," The ancient voice filled with grief sounded once more before the wolf that seemed to be made from pitch-dark flame commenced to ignite out, swelling in size.

The flames swelled in size, swiftly taking over the form of the once majestic wolf, and mere moments later, there was nothing but a massive beacon of fiery source that sent the tendrils of dark flames spreading through the surroundings.

"He- -- - He Died?"

"Sparkle, he killed him?" Sophia's voice, carrying the emotions of pain and sadness, echoed through the void as tears covered her small, innocent face.

"My Queen, we need to leave," Sparkle stated before darkness engulfed the due, and he disappeared into the void of space.
