Chapter 487 Gathering of Leaders
Chapter 487 Gathering of Leaders
The crimson throne was situated right before the blood-red pillar, both unique pieces of art that stood out even among the other eleven similarly unique clan thrones.
A few moments passed, and Queen Bellatrix appeared, Matriarch of the Vampire clan, a worlds-apart beauty adorned in a flowing crimson gown that draped elegantly over her form. Her crimson hair cascaded down her back, contrasting with her pale white skin, giving her an otherworldly allure, and after a respectful bow as her greeting to Alex, she gracefully took her seat.
Minutes passed before the ForgeFather made his entrance, a hulking Dwarf who was a mountain of refined muscles and thick, rusted brown beard and hair, and after bowing toward Alex with his right hand placed on his chest, he also silently took his seat.
The next to appear was Vuknir, The King of Giants, and the following one was Jones, The patriarch of the Werewolf clan.
The remaining eight clan leaders arrived one after the other, each greeting Alex with respect, with some showing more and others barely any, before silently settling on their seats.
"Elders, you all have my gratitude for your presence here today," Alex said once the undead monarch settled on his seat of authority and all clan leaders had their eyes set on him.
"Ahrimon has started a war, and it will begin after one of his top generals, An embodiment of Sin, makes it to the human continent, and if he is not stopped, a conflict will begin that will not stop until it engulfs the entire world,"
"The outer world needs help to survive the incoming calamity and help that only the Ruling powers of this Domain could offer," Alex said, not explaining the situation because each clan had already received the news, and their leaders were here just to announce solely to declare their support or refusal.
If the Domain was in danger, then each clan would need to come to the frontline, but because it was an outsider matter, not every clan would be eager to send their members because of the unknown.
After Emperor Melvin explained the situation and asked for help, Alex consented in a heartbeat, and while the Elders had no objections and fully supported his decision, they did share the broader picture with him about what was at stake for everyone who would potentially get involved.
Ahrimon had confidently shared his plan, so the preparation he would have made to make sure it wouldn't fail would be immense, and not considering any unknowns, they could expect at least three or more Monarchs and a few dozen Elemental Rulers or conflict machines of similar strength.
Convincing three or even more Monarchs to lend their strength was not an issue because very few Monarchs of the Domain were suffering from the Devourer Curse, but the issue was the Elemental Rulers.
Not because the Domain did not have a great number of Elemental Rulers but because most were suffering from the Devourer Curse, and using their strength meant letting the curse freely erode their minds.
There was also the possibility of the participant dying, so while none of the clans would shy away from participating, their approach would be different, and so would their demands.
"You are correct that the world will get enveloped in a conflict orchestrated by the Traitor, and while we can delay him, we can do nothing to stop him from starting uncontrolled chaos that will take the lives of billions," Telarion, the Doagon king, was first to speak.
"But before we discuss this matter any further, I want a few answers from all of you,"
"Who can say this is not a trap? Why would he update everything that he plans to do to you unless he wants you to act the way you plan to do."
"Let's all believe that he is doing it to scare away the domain Ruler, mentally break him with his schemes, and if that is the case, Why would he not just open the portal on a completely different continent because that's what I would do," "Let just also believe that things would go as you say, so even if we succeed in stopping the demon invasion, who can guarantee that the Eldravian Empire would not make his move and that bastard would not unleash his accursed army on the Dragon Mainland," Telarion said, and what followed was heavy silence.
Alex was not surprised to hear these questions raised because he had reached the same conclusion, and all the present elders, including the human emperor, did so as well.
While Alex would like to deny it, he knew that the likelihood of any of the three possibilities was great because while the System stated that 80% of the Human continent inhabitants would die, it never uttered the tragedy would come to pass in the few months time listed on the quest.
The time on the quest was just the countdown before the tragedy began, which would eventually take away 80% of the inhabitants of the human continent, and it could very well be the Devourer Beast Rampage.
The Devourer Beasts were not a minor threat, but rather, they were a more significant threat than any Demon or human Empire, and just unleashing them would cause the death of millions, and it would take years to clean them completely.
But if the Eldravian Empire made its move and traitors among the Ruling powers pulled strings, then even if united, the Seven powers would be in big trouble.
So, all the points raised by the Dragon King Telarion were valid, but it did not change the fact that a demon invasion was months away, and the Human continent needed help.
---------------
(The Demon Continent: The Palace of Envy)
In a dimly lit chamber, tiles of pitch dark covered the floor that reflected the soft ambient light of the moon shining through the windows. At the center of the room, a large bathtub was placed, and inside of it, a female visage could be seen, and by its side, a female in a see-through gown could be seen standing.
"This is what those fools must be thinking,"
"But those fools are a hundred years too young to see through the plans of my King," A pleasing feminine voice sounded, echoing against the backdrop of gently splashing water.
"Master, if none of these scenarios align with the plan, may I inquire about the particular interests of the great King?" A timid female voice, filled with fear, hesitantly asked the question despite her evident nervousness.
"Who uttered they are wrong, but what they will never understand is that no matter whether they come to the Human continent or not, the plan will succeed," "Now, let's enjoy ourselves," Leviathan said, Its voice taking a deeper tone as it stood in the bath, its body undergoing a metamorphosis.
