Chapter 382 Dark History
Chapter 382 Dark History
In annals of time, since life had begun in the ancient world, there were many subspecies of all races that were either different in form or just had different elemental natures, and the same was true for elves, but they were still collectively known as elves.
Before the Chaos Spawn invasion more than thirteen hundred years ago, the mana in the environment was much denser than today, and so were the techniques and technology, which was why, in that golden age, all the races of that time had many strong individuals.
The stronger an individual becomes, the purer his bloodline becomes, and children of such individuals inherited the stronger traits of their parents, and they were given the title of strong blood, and those of weaker birth were called common blood.
The strong-blood individuals grew to such a number that they created their own subspecies, and even the weakest talent among them was equal to the geniuses of their base race.
However, after the chaos spawn invasion ended, countless individuals died, and the number of strong-blood individuals dwindled to extremely low, with many races going completely extinct.
While the world was dealing with the remnants of chaos spawns, humans started a war, with the weaker empire taking over, the stronger one, and after that, it was a chain event as other wars began among the majority of races.
Those who stayed out of it were also dragged in the flames of betrayal and war, but even in these times, there were few as cruel as elves as they killed any and all strong blood they could find and burned any record of them and changed the history to their liking.
The elves combined forces with humans and various clans of dragons and even killed the race of darklings and the guardian Tree of Darkness, and the remainder of the royal Dryads race to extinction.
The few lucky survivors of darklings and royal Dryads found refuge away from the reach of elves and others, as currently, two small clans are living in the Malefis Domain.
Alex felt various emotions, but he realized that all living beings were opportunists, and if a big enough danger or opportunity presented itself, an entire race could gather for a common goal.
While Some motives would be heinous and cruel from one's point of view and fine from the other, there were still a few acts that were absolutely wrong from both perspectives, and what the elves and their allies did was one such unforgivable act.
Alex also learned about the circumstances of elder Ana?lle with Monarch of Light and, with the newfound information, received answers to all his questions.
Alex also realized that Boras was not a thief and that what he stole from the elven Empress was most likely something that either held immense value to the elves or something that elder Ana?lle wanted, or maybe both.
The new information clarified the bigger picture and answered many questions plaguing him. It also made him reconsider his plan for Boras, as he was not a petty thief, and knowing the legacy belonged to the Monarch of Ligh, a true elemental Monarch, throwing him away would be a huge waste.
Now, Alex was also almost certain that he didn't even need to hunt light elks to make Boras evolve his race into an ancient pure-blood light elf, and there was a pool of rebirth.
But with nothing else to do until elder Ana?lle was comfortable in having another conversation, Alex decided to roam the space to see what else it had to offer.
------------------
(Twelve Hours Later)
After ten hours, elder Ana?lle summoned him back and gave him the mission to find a candidate to acquire the elven Monarch's legacy.
She also made it clear the candidate just needed to have the bloodline of an elf and outstanding talent in the element of light, and she could handle the rest.
Alex asked if she could evolve an elf bloodline, as he found no pool of rebirth, and the answer he received was positive, yet she also clarified that the evolution of the bloodline depended completely on an individual's talent with an element.
The system recognized her request as an S Rank difficulty quest offering very lucrative rewards, which were practically free picking for him as he needed to do little work to find the candidate.
"I can't offer much to someone of your status, but maybe I can elevate some of the corrosion to your souls and help elevate his body," Elder Ana?lle said with a kind smile.
"As much as we appreciate your generous offer, it is best that you just help Domain Ruler and not waste your stored essence with us, as it wouldn't be much help to us," Lady Margaret said before Alex could even get excited about the sudden windfall.
"It's a shame that I can't help you," Elder Ana?lle said, agreeing with the statement.
"What? Why? Even a little help is good," Alex said, breaking from his momentary shock as he couldn't understand why his guardian was declining such a good opportunity.
"Domain Ruler, while it is true that she can use her light essence to even completely cure a group of Elemental Rulers, at our strength, she would be just wasting her energy, which will not only weaken her but will take years to recover,"
"So, it is indeed best that she use it for a better purpose," Elder Darrien said, making Alex want to ask him to change his mind, but he could only keep his silence as they knew what was best for them.
"How much do you think my overall strength will improve," Alex asked as he thought about the Life Guardian legacy staff collecting dust in his inventory.
"At your current physical state, your vitality should improve by a maximum of 20% and another physical area by anywhere between 10 to 15% while your natural healing will receive the biggest boost," Elder Ana?lle replied, as her eyes momentarily shimmered with energy.
"Before we begin the process, I want to thank you for this opportunity and also share a very important thing," Alex stated after a moment of silence.
"Elder, I apologize if this brings back sad memories, but I want to let you know that I have the legacy staff of Empress Aelrie, and I am also on a mission to bring back the Mother World Tree and the Race of Royal Dryads,"
"So maybe it is fate that has brought us together, and I know no one can bring back what you lost, but we can work together and continue the legacy of those you and this world have lost," Alex stated as he took out the Lifebender legacy staff from his inventory and extended it forward.
In Alex's previous life, a player named Sylvana acquired the life guardian legacy, and he planned to recruit her for his organization and give her the legacy she was destined for.
After acquiring the staff, he made the staff absorb life energy from various resources, but the recovery rate was truly bad, recovering 0.5% after burning through a few million golden coins worth of resources, which was why he was currently gathering high-quality resources rich in life and energy.
Alex was going to share about the legacy staff and his quest with elder Ana?lle before he left because he knew it meant the most to her, while he also wanted her to recover the staff as it would save him many resources and a lot of time.
Now, as she was giving him an opportunity, and knowing her nature, she would do her best to aid him, but after seeing the staff, she would additionally desire to repair it, so he didn't want to keep this info until she was done helping him and appear like he was taking advantage of her or doesn't respect her feelings.
"Little Aelrie,-- -- -," Elder Ana?lle said, her voice silent as a whisper, with the staff floating right into her hand.
"You are just a blessing to me," Elder Ana?lle stated with a smile as tears welled up in her eyes.
"I still don't know where to acquire the seed of Renewal, but I promise you that in the future, I will do my absolute best to acquire it," Alex stated after moments of silence.
"You will need the seed of the tree of light and darkness to create the seed of Renewal, and then plant it in the core of the world killer Volcano to grow the Mother World Tree,"
'However, maybe there is a chance that those scums still hold the core of my brother, and if I can take it back, then you will not need to worry about giving this world its world Tree,' Elder Ana?lle thought, looking at the child who had changed her life for better, a small smile spreading on her face.
