Chapter 149 Second Rank Promotion
The blood got absorbed by the magic staff, making the runes shine with intensity, and after a few seconds, Alex received the system notification of the successful bind.
'The stats are good, and the skills are even better.' Alex thought, looking at the adjusted stats of the magic staff.

'I will need to do some practice, but with the help of Dual Casting passive skill, I should be able to quickly learn to simultaneously cast two spells.' Alex thought with a smile, most thrilled about the Dual Casting.
Alex could perfectly dual cast his mortal and first Rank spells, but his mastery of second spells was not at such a level that he could simultaneously cast two spells.
'The most useless buff of this magic staff is the elemental resistance as I have zero resistance to air elements, so even boosting it by 1000% would give me zero benefits.' Alex thought, trying to remember how he could gain resistance against the air element.
'I could buy potions from the Alchemist guild that could give me permanent resistance, but those will be hella expensive.' Alex thought as he considered other better options, but he was disturbed mid-thinking by the loud noise.
"SHHRRRIIEEEKKKKK"
"Ricin, You have become a fat glutton, so get prepared to lose some weight," Alex said but still took out ten or so pieces of chimera tail meet and placed them next to him.
Alex's companion Beast, whom he named Ricin, looked nothing as he did a few months ago as he had grown from being a little bird with fluffy feathers to now standing close to six feet tall with a wing span of a little over sixteen feet.
'The good thing is he is already at the peak of Second Rank.' Alex thought, checking the stats window of Ricin.

'I plan to acquire the evolution potion as it is a money printing machine and to use it to evolve Ricin's bloodline to help him break his limitation,
'But now that I know the capabilities of Red Gem, I should first unlock the Bloodline Refinement skill and use it to see the results it could provide.' Alex thought, remembering the unbelievable gains that the Beastmen received from that skill.
'I should rest to recover mentally and physically to my best condition before I take the Second Rank promotion quest.' Alex thought as he placed the magic staff into his inventory.
After Ricin went into companion beast space to rest, Alex logged out and returned to the real world, and as it was the middle of nite in the real world, he just took a cold shower and went to sleep.
------------------------
(After Ten Hours]
After logging back into the ancient world, Alex ate a meal at the hotel, and after getting a few necessary potions, he took help from Elder Darrien to take him to the Eternalfrozen mountain range, an area with a huge abundance of the second and third Rank creatures.
'I know I can kill peak third Rank creatures with traits with my current strength, but can I kill ten of them at the peak of the third rank and still save enough time to complete my Second Rank promotion quest in forty-eight hours.' Alex thought silently, staring at the Ruler's mission window.
-----------
[Test Of Might II]
Objective: Kill Ten Peak Third Rank Creature with Traits. [0/10]
Time: 48 Hours.
Reward: 5000 Ruler Coins+[Random Skill]
Description: A test for the Ruler to prove his might by achieving a challenging feat while being a Mortal.
Accept: Yes/No
-----------
The hard difficulty of Alex's second Rank promotion legacy quest was the same as his first promotion quest, but the big twist was that he needed to kill 20 third Rank creatures in forty-eight hours and not ten like last time.
The number of Elite and Rare Elite creatures he needed to kill was also doubled, with their strength requirement set at second Rank.
'If I do things the right way, I think I can accomplish both missions in forty-eight hours, but I will definitely lose the bonus skill points, making me lose on some potentially good skills, but the mission rewards are too lucrative to miss.' Alex thought, making his decision.
'The best way I could save time is by first locating the ten creatures that fit the requirements of my missions and then accept both the Ruler's mission and my promotion quest before starting the hunt.' Alex thought.
Alex had yet to start his second Rank promotion mission, so he didn't need to worry about wasting time and could prepare the best plan to achieve the best possible results.
Alex quickly started remembering all the locations with the densest population of creatures and then opened his system map to mark all those locations.
After fifteen minutes of standing in the freezing wind, Alex was done with a rough plan as he had chosen close to twenty locations near each other where he would search and locate peak third Rank creatures.
'I just wonder what kind of ridiculous requirement I need to complete for my third and above Rank promotion quests.' Alex thought with a wary smile as he sprinted toward the nearest location.
While Alex was running around the ice field looking for creatures of interest, the handpicked players of his organization were tackling their own first Rank promotion quest.
--------------------
[In a Gloomy Forest]
"AAAAAAAAAAA"
A mountain of a man roared at the top of his lungs as he descended toward a crimson Tiger with hands gripped together to make a massive fist hammer.
"ROOOAAARRRRRRR"
The Tiger roared toward him with his jaw wide open and his eyes filled with rage, and the next second, his open jaws were met with the man's massive fist, resulting in his front tooth getting broken and his face brutally crashing into the ground.
"BOOOMMM"
"ROARRR"
The Tiger roared as he tried to lunge toward the man with his bloody mouth, but the man one step quicker, and a barrage of fits came crashing onto the injured tiger destroying his cracked skull and the brain inside it, instantly killing the beast.
"I just need to kill one more Epic grade monster, and I will be done with my promotion quest." The man mumbled as fresh blood and brain juice dripped from his icy white gauntlets.
The Man was Andrei, and from his blood-covered appearance, one could easily tell that he had been fighting monsters nonstop for the past few hours.
"I should have taken my brother's advice more seriously because then I wouldn't be in this bad situation," Andrei mumbled as he looked at his quest progress.
------------
Hidden Class Quest Progress:
1: Common Monsters (150/150)
2: Elite Monsters (70/70)
3: Rare Elite Monsters (40/40)
4: Epic Monsters (2/3)
-----
Time Left: 41 Minutes.
Important info: Players can only acquire the hidden class in the first promotion Quest.
------------
"I don't have time to waste," Andrei mumbled as he took off sprinting in a random direction, but not before taking his loot.
Andrei and his brother Venedikt were not the only ones to take their promotion quest, as almost every selected player did the same, leaving only a few exceptions.
The player took the quest this early because they knew even if they failed, they would still have enough time to try it two more times, while few took it to prove their capabilities to their new boss and separate themselves from the masses.
