Chapter 47
She was called away by Geng Hongyu mid-way to answer some of his questions and, when she returned, noticed that her precious son was already done with his makeup and waiting in the preparation area for the shoot.
Gu Nian felt at loss: Was the makeup artist super efficient or that she had somehow missed the arrival of her precious son?
She didn\'t have too much time to ponder about that. Gu Nian quickly rushed over to her precious son clutching the script in front of her.
When she got to him, it was lucky that Gu Nian\'s motherly love did not clog her brain entirely. She stopped docilely in front of him and said, "Good evening, Mr. Luo Xiu."
"……"
Luo Xiu turned and looked.
As his makeover was already finished, Luo Xiu had already taken off his gold-rimmed spectacles. His dark, brown eyes met hers directly as though there was profound meaning hidden in them.
Gu Nian waited for two seconds and, without hearing a response from him, she looked up at him and suddenly figured it out. "Can you not see very clearly without your glasses, Mr. Luo Xiu?"
Gu Nian kindly leaned forward some. "This is Gu Nian with the screenwriter team."
Luo Xiu looked down. "I can tell from your voice, Miss. Gu."
"Eh? You can tell it is me from my voice?"
Luo Xiu, "Mmm."
Gu Nian\'s eyes teared up.
He was her precious son after all. They have only just met each other but he was already so familiar with her. This must be what they say about mother and son being joined at their hearts.
"Something\'s the matter, Miss Gu?" asked Luo Xiu.
Gu Nian recollected herself. "I Just want to see how you are feeling tonight. The filming is about to begin. Are you nervous?"
"……"
He was about to stay no but stopped himself just in time.
Luo Xiu looked down a little. There was some sort of emotions in his eyes that were now hidden from sight. He seemed to have made some sort of a decision. His thin lips curved downward a little and he forced them back to normal.
Silence = affirmative.
Gu Nian, who didn\'t get an answer from Luo Xiu, felt her heart ached immediately. "Don\'t be nervous. Don\'t be nervous. You have made marked improvements the last few days already!"
"Is that so?"
"Of course that is so. Would I lie to you?" Gu Nian tried to cover up her struggling conscience as she talked. "As long as you believe in yourself, you will be able to perform well tonight!"
"Miss Gu has so much faith in me?"
"Most definitely!"
"How so?"
"Because you are my chi….."
She stopped right then and there.
The old mother, who was almost fooled, was suddenly alarmed and returned to normal in a split second.
Luo Xiu didn\'t let her off the hook so easily. "What was it that you\'ve just said?"
"I said you are my chi…, chi…."
An idea suddenly occurred to Gu Nian, "Childhood dream!"
Luo Xiu, "……"
Luo Xiu, "?"
Words that were said was like water that was splashed out – there was no way of taking them back.
Gu Nian looked at Luo Xiu with feigned innocence.
Luo Xiu busted out laughing. "I am your childhood dream? Pray tell, how old are you right now, Miss Gu?"
Gu Nian teared up. "Three, three-and-a-half year old?"
Luo Xiu, "So, what Miss Gu meant to say is that I am your current dream then?"
Gu Nian was dumbfounded.
When she recollected herself, her eyes lit up and she nodded quickly. "Yes, that\'s exactly it! – Mr. Luo Xiu is my dream! That will never change!"
"……"
Luo Xiu stiffened up. He almost looked up at her instinctively but he stopped himself. He knew that the change of his emotions in that instant was not concealed nor was it concealable.
He didn\'t understand how someone could be like her and how she could say those things out loud so easily. Her tone sounded so genuine as were the emotions in her eyes. It was almost like she meant every word that she said and that there was nothing untruthful about them.
It was almost as though she was truly… madly in love with him?
