Chapter 929: The Shadow Plane's Hopes
Chapter 929: The Shadow Plane's Hopes
Ding!
Looking through what was written on the screen that appeared beside the one he already had opened, the young man eventually nodded in understanding, quickly piecing what was going on to get a better idea of the situation.
[Progenitor of the Four Azure Paths] (Title)
Rarity: Legendary
Azure Energy was a concept birthed into existence by Sellifer Dusk Veiperis, fusing the destructive and chaotic properties Shadow Energy innately holds with the flexible and limitless proliferation that mana has.
On the other hand, the concept of the Four Elements had been birthed since the beginning of time, forming the foundation of the myriad elements that exist in the universe, whether it be low-tier or high-tier.
With that, you have fused the two paths into one comprehensive path, allowing you to make use of the inherent properties of Azure Energy alongside the various abilities the concept of the Four Elements.
This title is proof that you are the pioneer, the trailblazer, and the progenitor of the concept of the Four Azure Paths.
Effects:
> 25% boost to the maximum amount of Azure Energy one could hold
> +25% efficacy in controlling Azure Energy
> 15% boost to comprehension rate involving concepts and skills related to Azure Energy, the Four Elements, or the Four Azure Paths
"I see." Once the young man was done reading through the title's description, Valyr dispelled both of his screens as he focused his attention on the sensation that enveloped his body all this time.
Focusing his senses inward, he soon saw the cause that made him feel like a small chasm was opening inside him earlier, noticing that it was slowly being filled with a dark blue energy he was incredibly familiar with.
Though he felt like it would take a while for the chasm to be filled with Azure Energy, the young man went ahead and brought up his status screen, seeing if the title's effects were already applied.
Unsurprisingly, they already were, with his Azure Energy now at a greater amount than this Shadow Energy.
'Because I glimpsed at the Shadowsource, I currently have 99 points of Shadow Energy,' inwardly muttered the young man to himself, continuing to admire his status screen.
'With it scaling off Shadow Energy, my Azure Energy is also at 99 points. But now with the title taking effect, I now have 124 points of Azure Energy.'
Other than the tangible effect of having more Azure Energy to work with, [Progenitor of the Four Azure Paths] also improved his control over Azure Energy.
Whoosh!
Releasing a bit of Azure Energy to test it out, the young man easily noticed that there was less difficulty in moving it, giving him the feeling that the energy had taken on a more malleable form.
Satisfied with how much easier it was to control his Azure Energy, Valyr eventually moved onto the title's final effect, which improved his comprehension rate on concepts and skills involving the Four Azure Paths.
'Unlike the first two, this one isn't so easy to test,' thought the young man to himself, only to shrug his shoulders soon after. 'Then again, I don't really need to test it for now. Having it is still better than not having it, after all.'
Although he had yet to receive the fourth and final reward from the Serpent Maiden, Valyr was already more than satisfied with the things he did gain from her.
From the subclass that fully suited the current path he was taking, to the two titles and additional incidents that helped improve the speed at which he could improve in that path, all of it gave the young man considerable benefit.
'I wonder... would she have given me these things if I asked for something specific?' asked Valyr to himself, brushing off the thought soon after as he decided not to dwell on what-ifs.
"And with that, let's move on to your final reward." Seeing as the young man had finished looking through the title he obtained, the Serpent Maiden attracted his attention before making a few gestures with her hands.
Whoosh! Whoosh!
As he heard the woman's words, Valyr watched as the lines on the Serpent Maiden's hands began to glow a dark blue light.
Not long after, this dark blue light coalesced in front of the woman, turning into a small ball of energy that surprisingly resonated with the young man's body.
Keeping an eye on this ball of energy, the young man watched as the Serpent Maiden flung it towards him, only for his body to absorb it before he could even react.
Swoosh!
In less than an instant, Valyr felt as if all of the cells making up his body had awakened, giving him the feeling as if they were trying to reach out for something that was way out of their
reach.
Taking in a deep breath to compose himself from this sudden turn of events, the young man focused his senses inward once more, only to notice that the reason why the cells in his body were acting that way was because of the small ball.
At the very moment the small ball of energy made contact with the young man's body, a deluge of energy burst forth from it, spreading to every inch that it cover reach.
In response, the cells making up Valyr's body grabbed some of this energy for themselves, absorbing it before using it to refine themselves to a better state.
Watching this happen firsthand, the young man put all of his attention, gradually getting the feeling that he was reaching a higher peak the more the cells absorbed the energy the small
ball gave out.
Unfortunately, though his body had undergone enhancement multiple times thanks to the small ball, it wasn't able to reach the higher peak he thought his body would reach. Inwardly letting out a light sigh at this thought, Valyr looked back at the Serpent Maiden and asked, "Is that the fourth reward?"
In response, the Serpent Maiden smiled as she nodded. "It's not as apparent as the other rewards I've given you, however..."
"With it, all you need now is a little push in order for you to ascend past your racial shackles."
Slightly frowning as he mulled over her words, the young man's eyes soon widened in understanding as he asked back, "Wait... you mean..."
"I've noticed the moment you entered the Shadow Plane again that you seem to be very close to ascending to a higher tier of being," said the woman in response. "I've just given you a bit of a nudge in that area to help reduce the effort needed to do so."
"..." Now fully understanding what the Serpent Maiden had done to him with the final reward, Valyr soon gave the woman a respectful bow. "Thank you for your kindness."
"It is only fair to reward those who have contributed greatly to the Shadow Plane," replied the Serpent Maiden, letting out a refreshing peal of laughter.
"In any case, now that I've given you the rewards you deserve, it is due time for us to part ways."
"Do you have any questions you want to ask me before we do so?"
"Hmm..." Though a couple questions did flash through the young man's mind in response to her words, Valyr ultimately shook his head, considering that the information he'd get from it
wasn't really that important.
"I have no questions."
"Understood." Nodding back, the Serpent Maiden soon made a few gestures in the air once more, the lines on her hands giving off a faint black glow this time around.
"This is farewell for now, Valyr."
Feeling his body slowly being wrapped in Shadow Energy due to the Serpent Maiden's actions, the young man did not resist, causing a cocoon to form around him after a minute or
so.
Whoosh!
Not long after, this cocoon soon flew into the skies, to which the Serpent Maiden watched as it slowly turned into a small dot in her vision.
"I don't know why, but I have feeling that we will meet again in the future, Valyr," muttered
the woman as she gazed at it for a bit more, briefly closing her eyes as she recited a short
prayer.
Then, turning around, she soon disappeared from the shrine, leaving a few words in it that
continued to linger for a bit after that.
"But before then, I shall continue to keep an eye on you."
"Please do not betray my expectations."
Whoosh!
