Chapter 708: Axel Vs Ava 4
Chapter 708: Axel Vs Ava 4
\'Vital spirit\' would not let it sleep or disturb its sleep. Even though its body and mind had already been used to it as it was hereditary, sleep would still affect it.
So, after mastering \'Vital spirit\', Primeape could train for a longer time than others and longer than before. Axel had seriously focused on its growth as it was a key Pokemon in defeating Miltank.
He looked at its stats:

Primeape had improved a lot and it had also received its rank-up condition. The condition was to get all the body stats to S rank and then create a new defensive move.
The creation of a defensive move was taking some time as Axel only wanted Primeape to have one defensive move. So it must be really good.
He looked at its move description for the new modified moves:
---
Beat up (Primeape) (Level 40): Can call up to 3 Pokemons from the party for 8 seconds. The Pokemons that are called out would be of the same rank or lower rank. There is a 5% chance that the Pokemon would be 2 ranks higher.
Counter (Primeape) (Level 40): The user attacks back with 1.8X power. Physical damage.
Focus Punch (Primeape) (Level 40): While using \'Focus energy\', the preparation time for \'Focus punch\' will decrease by 50%.
Thrash (Primeape) (Level 40): The power and the speed of attack has increased.
(Level 45): Can use the move for minimum 3 times.
Earthquake (Primeape) (Level 40): Can use the move 2 times in a row but the power of the second earthquake would be lower than before.
---
"Let the battle Begin!!", shouted the referee.
Neither Axel nor Ava said anything to their Pokemons. Primeape first used \'Focus energy\' and then used the move \'Bulk up\'.
Meanwhile, Miltank used \'Defense curl\' and \'Work up\'. Both of them were getting ready for battle.
"Miltank, use \'Attract\'"
"Gary, you know the drill.", said Axel as Gary immediately looked down on Miltank\'s feet.
\'Attract\' might become very deadly if it was hit. Ava\'s Miltank was a female and Primeape was a male. So, there was a good chance that it would attract Primeape.
However, if Primeape was basically not looking at its face, then it would not matter much. So, Axel had told it to look at its feet if it was using that move. It had rained a lot while looking at the opponent\'s feet.
Since \'Attract\' was not going to make any difference, Ava told Miltank to use the move \'Rollout\'.
Miltank did a small jump as it rolled and then it kept rolling at high speed.
"Gary, now do it.", shouted Axel as if he wanted his instruction to be completed as soon as possible.
Gary gave a hearty laugh and it also jumped. Its feet and legs were covered in brownish energy as it struck its whole body in the ground, the ground started to shake and then rocks started to come out of the ground. This was \'Earthquake\' and for a rare rank Pokemon, it was quite powerful.
\'Earthquake\' made Miltank stop its \'Rollout\' and Primeape took a good chance to deliver a powerful \'Focus Punch\', right on its face. Miltank hit by the attack was flown off to the ground by the powerful force. \'Focus punch\' took time to hit and there was some good chance to miss but if it was hit then it was basically the decider of the battle.
However, Miltank was also very hardcore. It took some time but it got up and became ready for battle again. It then rolled a bit forward and then started to suck its own milk. It was using the move \'Milk Drink\'.
There was a problem with a move like \'Milk drink\'. First was the time it took to use it. The user would have to personally drink its own milk and heal itself which would leave the user vulnerable.
Second was that it could only use this move 1 or 2 times per battle as there would not be infinite milk on its body.
The first condition applied to Miltank but the second didn\'t. As Miltank was known for its milk, it had the capacity to produce large amounts of milk and for the battle of 10-15 minutes, it could supply an infinite amount of milk.
Primeape could have interfered while it was drinking milk but Axel said, "Use \'Bulk up\' to the maximum."
Axel knew that it was going to be a long battle. After the first contact, Axel realized that Miltank\'s nerve reaction was not as broken as Minato\'s from the Naruto world. It was exceptional for a rare rank Pokemon but that was it. Yet, Axel wanted his Pokemons to learn this move as in the higher stages of this move with a higher rank of Pokemon, it would be very beneficial.
After Miltank was ready, Ava gave it 2 instructions that completely changed the pace of the battle completely.
First of all, Miltank used its new move \'Full armor\'. Axel was quite disappointed by the look of this armor. It was not like armor but a white coating covering its whole body. Axel could see that there was a lot of modification and evolution that needed to be done in this move. Yet he was vigilant.
After that, it used the move \'Substitute\' as another Miltank came out of nowhere. The substitute looked like it could not use the move \'Full armor\'. Axel thanked Arceus for that but now he was confused.
Why would Ava tell Miltank to use such a move where he could differentiate the original from the duplicate? The move would also lower its health and stats. So, as per Axel, it was just a waste.
###
Primeape had been using \'Focus energy\' to maximum and had also used \'Bulk up\' 3 times. That was its limit right now. It didn\'t know why Axel told it to stop right now but it had full faith in Axel.
As Miltank got ready, both of them started to attack at full speed. The original charged towards Primeape to use \'Thunder punch\' and \'Hammer arm\' while the substitute used the move \'Roll out\'.
Axel was surprised and finally realized why Ava gave such instructions. The main and primary reason for using the move \'Substitute\' was to let the \'Substitute\' be a distraction and take hits. The substitute could not use attacking or any other moves other than taking hits.
But it looks like Ava and Miltank had modified the move and improved upon it. Some of Axel\'s Pokemons like Nidoking and Shedinja could also do it but Axel knew how hard it was to train it and improve it. For a rare rank Pokemon, that was an excellent achievement.
Seeing the rollout, Axel immediately told Primeape to use the move \'Earthquake\' to counter it but the original Miltank came running down to intervene. It used the move \'Thunder punch\'. So, Primeape could not use the move \'Earthquake\' to counter it.
It also used the move \'Thunder punch\' to Miltank and both of the moves clashed with each other. The result was the win of Primeape. Due to using \'Bulk up\' multiple times, the power of Primeape had increased, and even without it, it was an attacking Pokemon while Miltank was a defensive Pokemon.
However, as the original Miltank was thrown off the ground by the attack, the substitute was right there on its face using the move \'Rollout\'.
BANG!!!
Primeape was hit by the attack and it was thrown to the ground. Since it was the first \'Roll out\', its power was not too much and it could be handled but if the move was to hit a couple more times, then it could do some serious damage.
A few rounds went like this where the original Miltank was distracting Primeape with moves like \'Stomp\', \'Hammer arm\', and \'Thunder punch\' while the substitute was using the move \'Roll out\'.
After the second \'Roll out\', the original Miltank started to use the move \'Bide\' and also tried to attack with \'Stomp\'.
This was the perfect strategy for Ava and one of the reasons why she was feared as the most powerful gym leader of the Johto region.
Due to the situation, Primeape could only attack one of them. \'Roll out\' was going on for the third time. Miltank was doing everything to stop the \'Earthquake\' but Primeape had another trick to stop the \'Roll out\'.
This trick was not as safe as \'Earthquake\' but there was a good chance that it would get the job done. However, even if Primeape was somehow able to dodge the original Miltank and then stop the substitute, the original was using \'Bide\' and it had already accumulated a lot of hits and it was getting powerful. It also had armor, so it was not injured heavily after being hit by multiple attacks of \'Primeape\'.
Normally, while using \'Bide\', the user cannot attack and could only take hits to accumulate a lot of energy inside their body and then use all those energies to rebound back. That was the concept of \'Bide\'.
However, it looks like, Ava and Miltank had not only modified and improved \'Substitute\' but also \'Bide\', so it could also attack while being in the state of \'Bide\'.
So, Primeape was going to be hit anyway. The question was which lesser devil to choose. The original one or the substitute one?
Axel made a quick decision and then said, "Gary, use \'Close combat\' to dodge the original and then use \'Brick break\'."
\'Brick break\' had the power to break barriers. Axel believed that it also had the power to break \'Roll out\'. Since \'Roll out\' would be at high speed after the third turn, it would be very hard to break but Axel believed that \'Brick break\' would do the trick.
As for the reason why it was not safe? Because it would obviously hurt Primeape a lot. If it was using \'Earthquake\', it would not need to make any contact but now it was physically trying to stop a high-speed \'Roll out\' with its hands.
Primeape was successful in dodging the original and then it went toward the coming rollout and punched it hard with its full force.
BANG!!!
The clash was electric as there were literally sparks of fire and yellow current coming out. Primeape was able to slow down the rollout till everyone could see the face of the substitute and then it used \'Close combat\' with the mix of \'Karate chop\', \'Cross chop\', \'Double Kick\', and \'Low kick\' in fast succession.
The substitute who was already very confused as its rollout had been stopped could not dodge those moves and took a massive hit. After it took the maximum hit that it could bear, it went out like poof and then now there were only the original Miltank left.
Yet, Primeape didn\'t have the luxury of time right now. The original had already prepared its \'Bide\' and was already attacking it from behind.
Axel immediately shouted, "Gary, turn back and then defend."c
