Chapter 586: Charles being Charles

Using 'Fire pledge' not only helped Charizard to disturb other Pokemon but also created smoke from which it further increased its defense. This was Charizard's third tide so it knew that the battle strategy would be completely different than gym battles.

It needed to preserve its stamina and it could not use all of its powerful moves from the start. Pidgeot seemed like an inexperienced Pokemon in the tide battle cause it was using its powerful moves from the get-go.

After using 'Dragon scales' and 'Smoke manipulation', the defense of Charizard had increased by a lot. The battle continued for 10 more minutes where Pidgeot was on the offensive and Charizard was dogging and defending the attacks.

Since it was successfully dogging and defending the attacks, it had not consumed much stamina but Pidgeot was consuming a lot of its stamina. Even though it was a tier 2 king-rank Pokemon, if it used high-consuming stamina moves, it would start to get tired.

'Dragon scales' had also leveled up to 43 and it could be activated for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, 'Dragon scales' deactivated. 'Smoke manipulation' needed continuous stamina to be activated but it would not consume so much stamina. However, Since Pidgeot was only using physical type moves, Charizard had already deactivated it.

So, it then used 'Flame armor' to increase its defense again and it was also able to use 'Dragon dance' 2 times during the battle. Pidgeot also used 'Aerial ace' again but Charizard was able to dodge it again.

Suddenly, Pidgeot gave a huge cry, and then the winds around it started to rage. It started to hover around Pidgeot. Axel also saw this phenomenon and could say that it was using the move 'Tail wind'. Axel was surprised that Pidgeot would master 'Tail wind' to such a degree.

The force of the wind was so huge that Charizard was not even able to go near Pidgeot. The wind was fast and brutal and even though Charizard was using 'Flame armor' it was starting to accumulate injuries.

Axel knew that Pidgeot was going to use a big move now so he told Charizard to use 'Smoke manipulation' again and then increase its defense. It used a good amount of stamina to power its defense and waited for Pidgeot.

Since the wind was very turbulent, it was difficult for Charizard to maintain its flying direction too. So, Charizard knew that it would not be able to dodge the attack and had to defend it.

Charizard gave a huge roar and it used 'Dragon roar' again.

Charles's Dragon roar had leveled up to level 40. It would not increase the special attack of the user.

This came at the right time cause all the winds started to surround Pidgeot. Pidgeot now started to shine in white light. The scene was very beautiful as all the grass, rocks even trunks of trees started to move around Pidgeot as if Pidgeot was a black hole.

It then gave another huge cry and then those wind started to form into visible wind blades. The blades were at least 2 to 3 feet tall and there were numerous blades. It was too many to count. Axel could see that Charizard was in trouble now.

Axel also had to concentrate on other battles mainly on the battle of Slowemperor as it was not that experienced to fight Arcanine. Lance had arrived and was helping the team but Cody was a bit late. Suddenly, he could see Cody coming on the top of his Swampert. The speed of Swampert was very high for a ground and water-type Pokemon.

Axel finally relaxed and fully concentrated on Charizard's fight. He sent a mental communication to Charizard,

'Charles, first use 'Substitute' and let those 'Substitute' cover both sides. Use full power on 'Flame armor' and 'Smoke manipulation'. Then use 'Ominous wind' at full power and try to hold on.'

'Substitute' was to tank the hits, 'Flame armor' and 'Smoke manipulation' were for defense, and 'Ominous wind' would send out repulsive wind that would counter the upcoming attack.

All those wind blades gathered around Pidgeot and with a final cry, all of them went towards Charizard. Axel didn't want Charizard to use its domain move as there was a cool-down period after using it cause it would consume a huge amount of stamina.

However, seeing these deadly wind blades, Axel had no choice.

'Charles, use 'Fire domain'', said Axel finally.

Charizard tried its best to defend against the attack. 'Fire domain' would increase the power of fire-type moves and also can get the opponent burnt. 'Fire domain' had also leveled up nicely and it was now at level 50. So, it was a powerful pre-domain move.

However, the attack power of Pidgeot was very high. There were multiple explosions and the wind was acting as if it was dancing on Pidgeot wimps. Axel could tell that Charizard was injured but it had defended most of the attack.

It was now time to finish this battle as Charizard could not hold on for too long. When all these wind blades attacked Charizard, the wind around the area started to get normal but Pidgeot was not going to give up so soon. All the winds around it seemed to have powered it up somehow and it was shining in a bright light.

It moved at blinding speed and then hit Charizard on its stomach. It had used 'Aerial ace' but Axel had never seen such a powerful 'Aerial ace' before. All the residual wind that was surrounding it seemed to have given it extraordinary power and it used that power to attack Charizard.

"Charles, defend it and keep using 'Counter'.", shouted Axel and then turned his head towards Venusaur.

"Venusaur, line up 'Golduck' and 'Butterfree' next to Pidgeot with 'Vine whip'. Don't miss it. Use your full power.", shouted Axel.

Seeing the emergency voice of Axel, Venusaur used 6 vines from its body and 3 of them wrapped Golduck while the other 3 wrapped Butterfree. Till this time Venusaur was playing defensively. It was also using some attack moves but it was not attacking with intensity. This was war, so it had to go slow.

So, Golduck and Butterfree also didn't expect such a sudden move. Venusaur wrapped them in vines and now both of them were next to Pidgeot. It could not understand why Axel said so but it fully trusted Axel.

Charizard now had a huge injury in its stomach and it was bleeding heavily. Axel knew that it was time for Charizard to come inside the ball but it was going to use it final attack before it.

Before Pidgeot used wind blades, Axel had already told it to 'Counter'.

Counter (Charizard) (Level 40): When hit by a physical attack, the user would attack with 1.8 X the power.

(Level 45): Charizard could hold the effect of counter for 2 minutes even when it was attacked by a special move.

(Level 50): When hit by a physical attack, the user would attack with 2 X the power.

It had defended the attack. After using 'Smoke manipulation', 'Substitute', 'Flame armor', and 'Ominous wind', it was able to defend itself, so now it was time to attack.

"Charles, now use 'Flame wings' and 'Wing attack' and finish this battle.", said Axel.

Charizard gave a huge roar and its wings started to shine in white and blue light. Its flames were now blue in color and it was very hot. After getting the enhancement from 'Counter', it moved towards Pidgeot at a very high speed.

Even Pidgeot was surprised that Charizard was not dead. 'Fire domain' was still on so the power of fire-type attacks had also increased. In the meantime, it also activated 'Blaze', which further increased the power of its fire-type moves.

Charizard was now invincible. It went towards Pidgeot and then it sliced Pidgeot in half. Pidgeot was already very weak after using such a powerful move. Then came Golduck. Golduck was just next to Pidgeot and it was also sliced off. After Golduck came Butterfree who also met the same end.

Charizard knew that this power was very short and it only had a few seconds to go back. The attack was going to be complete, so it wanted to do maximum damage. Looking around, it saw Machamp and Victreebel in sight. It directly rushed towards them and then its wings sliced both of them too. Finally, it landed on the ground.

Axel immediately called it back and told Venusaur to give it some emergency treatment.

All the soldiers were surprised by this point. For a few seconds, the whole battle had stopped. Charizard was able to kill 4 tier 1 king-rank Pokemons and 1 tier 2 king-rank Pokemon. The tables had turned now and now the humans were dominating the battle.

Charizard was really one of a kind.

Slowemperor Vs Arcanine

Slowemperor was not able to successfully trap Arcanine in 'Trick room'. Aracanine's speed was very fast. Slowemperor had to use 'Teleport' multiple times to dodge its attack. Thankfully, it was able to use 'Calm mind' and it's special attack and special defense were high.

Slowemperor was now an ice-type Pokemon. So, it was weak to fire. It had mastered 'Monarch' to 20% now in 3 weeks and it had become a bit more powerful than before but Arcanine also had 'Intimidate' and it was 100% mastered. So, it was more powerful than 'Monarch' right now.

At 100%, 'Monarch' was obviously more powerful than 'Intimidate'. However, since it was only 20% mastered, it could not fight against 'Intimidate'. Fortunately, 'Intimidate' only lowered attack stats and Slowemperor didn't focus on attack stat. However, 'Intimidate' also made it difficult for Slowemperor in battle. The ability would create a menacing aura on Arcanine and also make it flinch Slowemperor multiple times and it was hit by 'Flamethrower' during that time.

"I know you are fighting due to the death of your father but you also must realize that we are not the ones who did it. Why are you fighting with us?", asked Slowemperor.

"No, it was you, the humans that did it. My father was powerful but he was also very stupid. He felt that he could co-exist with humans and never attacked human settlement.

I always said that it was a mistake and now, he was killed by that same human. Even though he was a stupid father, I will take revenge."

"But those humans who killed your father are long gone. Why don't you stop this battle and then we will find those humans and give them to you. You don't have to go on a killing spree."

"You have already fooled us once. You cannot fool me again."

Slowemperor knew that talking with this fool would be a waste of time. It wanted to create a friendly relationship with Arcanine so that they would not have to fight but it seemed like this would just be a dream.

Slowemperor knew multiple water-type moves and due to its training with Venusaur, its ice-type core, it's training on the passive move 'Frost giant', and its mastery over illusion-type moves, it was able to hold Arcanine for 10 minutes now.

Arcanine had some sort of move that would help it neglect the illusion. Slowemperor had used 'Confusion' many times to Arcanine but it had not yet been confused.

Axel could see that Arcanine was an experienced Pokemon in tide battles. Unlike Pidgeot, it was not using powerful moves to finish the battle. Axel could see that it was slowly winning the battle and it knew that with enough time it would be able to kill Slowemperor. So, it was not in a hurry.

Right now, it was raining in their battle area. Arcanine had first used 'Sunny day' to increase the power of its fire-type moves. However, Slowemperor used 'Rain dance' immediately to counter it. It then used 'Rain dance' again to cause more heavy rainfall.

Arcanine was already stronger than it by several times. So, it took the hit of 'Flame wheel' and used 'Rain dance'. By this time, Slowemperor had multiple injuries. After evolving, it became very bulky and its defense also increased but it had been hit by many attacks till now.

Finally, it used 'Hydro pump' which hit Arcanine on the face. It had to use 'Teleport' and come behind Arcanine to hit it. The move did some damage to Arcanine but was still not hurt so much.

Suddenly, Arcanine noticed a powerful aura of Pokemon coming towards them. It was Venusaur.
