Chapter 400: Terrified Clefable

I am very surprised that our species don't exist in the outside world. It is such a shame. You also might be thinking, 'Why didn't we go outside of the cave for so many years?'

There is a simple explanation. The Clefable tribe makes the rules and one of the rules is to never go outside."

"Didn't you ask them, why?", asked Axel.

"No, the Clefable tribe is a good tribe. Their leader is very strong and also thinks for all of us. I have no reason to decline their rules. By the way, the leader of a Clefable tribe is a champion-ranked Pokemon and I don't think that your Venusaur could beat it."

This Dracorock was sending out information bombs like it was common knowledge.

"Coming to your proposal, you are right. Some of our members, specially Acrons, wants to go to the outside world and I don't want to bind them here. I want to accept your proposal but there are some conditions that you have to fulfill.", said the leader Dracorock.

"Please tell them.", said Angela.

"First, you would have to get permission from Clefable tribe. I respect them and they are very strict on these rules. Even though some of us want to travel to the outside world, not all of us want that path and I want my tribe to live here peacefully."

"That is a valid condition. I accept it.", said Angela.

"Second, I want us to be transparent. I want our tribe members to be treated fairly in the outside world. I want you to give us permission to check and meet them when they want. I want them to be able to select their own trainers."

Both of them nodded their head in confirmation.

"And finally, I want security. You said that you have a man that controls multiple master-rank Pokemons. I want to meet him and I also want him to guarantee our safety inside the cave and outside the cave."

"That would be an inconvenience. You see, a man of such power and caliber would not bother to come here and guarantee such things on a whim.", said Angela.

"I can understand that but this condition is non-negotiable", said the leader Dracorock.

Angela turned towards Axel and asked, "Would he agree?"

"He might but even if he did, he would want me to have the ownership of the cave.", said Axel.

Angela thought about the issue for some time. She looked toward the leader of the tribe and said,

"I can agree to that but we would have to make some changes. You see, the man is called 'Samuel Oak'. If he were to guarantee the safety of your tribe, he would want to own the whole cave.

Don't worry, he would not own you, we would have the same arrangement but owning is a term used in the outside world."

Angela could see the change in the look of the leader after she said 'owned'. That was why she gave the explanation.

"Now, Oak would want to own the cave which means, you would not deal with me but deal with him. However, there is a simple solution to it and that is this kid right now.

The name of this kid is Axel Blaze. He is the successor of Oak. Oak would happily give the right to this kid and this kid is a part of my family.

You would deal with my family but you would not deal with me but with him. If that is okay with you then we are good to go.", said Angela.

Axel was surprised that Angela had such trust in him. She was basically giving the rights of this cave to him.

"I am okay with that.", said the leader analyzing Axel.

They talked about other things and Axel and Angela tried their best to describe the outside world to them. Most of them were afraid to go to the outside world. Axel showed videos of the outside world from his device.

After talking to them, they felt relieved.

"So, we have accepted your proposal. You can go to the lowest floor for here and I hope that you would be able to convince the Clefable tribe.", said the leader.

Axel and Angela said their goodbyes and then went to the lowest floor. The leader, Dracorock had said that Venusaur would not be able to win against the leader of Clefable tribe. That made them nervous. However, they had come too far to go away now and they were going to see it through.

Clefable were hospitable if they were not threatened, so they don't have to worry about their lives.

There were proper stairs that were going down. Axel who was feeling difficulty breathing before felt that the air inside was abundant which surprised him.

'What sorcery had this tribe done on the lowest floor?', he thought.

They could see a large gate and the tribe was covered by high walls. This looked exactly like human settlement. The settlement looked way more advance than what Axel and Angela had seen before.

The gate automatically opened when they came near.

"It is a pleasure to have you here, Axel and Angela. It had been many years since humans have stepped on this holy land.", came a voice from out of nowhere.

They started to look around but the whole place looked empty. In their defense, the place was huge for a tribe.

Suddenly 5 Clefable appeared as if they had teleported.

Clefable could learn the move 'Teleport' but it was a psychic move and Clefable was a fairy-type Pokemon. So, it would be difficult for them to learn. These Clefables were strong.

The one in the front was a champion-rank Pokemon. Axel could just tell it from its aura. He didn't bother to look at its stats cause he was too nervous to do so.

"You don't have to worry. If you are not here to harm us, I promise that my tribe would be very hospitable. Let me welcome you in. Getting here by following our rules is not an easy task. Follow me."

These 5 Clefables started to walk towards the settlement. Axel could see that the leader of the tribe was not requesting them but telling them. Even though the leader of the tribe was well-spoken, it was speaking with authority.

Axel was having a bad feeling about this.

They followed the leader and others and entered a house. Yes, a house!!!

They had a house here which was very surprising. They were coping the way of humans. They entered the house and sat on what seemed like a rudimentary sofa.

It was made of rocks and the shape was not perfect but it was still a good achievement considering the resources here.

"I would love to offer you some food but you humans don't eat our food. So, what are you here for? You must have an agenda. I know that humans are greedy and if you want to own and rule this cave, you will have to follow my rules and that is to beat me in combat."

This Clefable was very direct. Axel could see that it was not messing around. First of all, how did these Clefable know that they were coming here? How did they know their names? Did they have some sort of surveillance cameras?

Axel also didn't mess around and said, "We are here for Moon stone. I have a Nidorino and I have an instinct that it would evolve further from the Moon stone."

"I don't want to be rude but how did you know about the existence of Moon stone? I am very sure that the outside world doesn't know it and how did you know that Nidorino could evolve from it?"

Axel was now in a pinch. He could not say that it was cause he was a transmitor.

"I have a very good instinct and my instinct is never wrong. I felt that there was something here that could help Nidorino and I also talked to others on the upper floor. I got the name of Moon stone from there."

"Mr. Axel, Please be careful about what you say again cause I don't like lies.", said the leader.

"What lies?"

"I am capable enough to tell that you have lied to me. I don't know why you are hiding it and I don't care. If you want to have even a chance to get the Moon stone, you would have to answer my question."

"It is not that I don't want to tell you but there is something that doesn't allow me to say it.", said Axel.

"If that is the case, can I make a guess?", asked the leader with a smile.

"So, Mr. Axel, are you a reincarnator? Hmmm. I don't think so. The higher beings would not make such a mistake and I didn't detect any such psychic fluctuation from you.

So, you are a transmitor huh?"

Clefable had hit the spot. Axel didn't know what to do.

The expression on Axel's face showed that Clefable had guessed right. Reincarnator and transmitor were something from the myths. Angela had heard about it but they were myths. Angela's face also changed. She also knew that Axel was a transmitor now.

Axel started to look at the faces of Angela and Clefable thinking about what he would say. The system was very clear about keeping this a secret.

"If you are a transmitor, then someone very powerful must be on this. I don't think that Arcecus had the capability to do it. So who is it?"

"I already said that I cannot say that it would be better if you don't share these things with others too.", said Axel.

He wanted Nidorino to evolve and he didn't want any beef with Clefable. Things might turn out really bad if Clefable was to advertise this to others.

"Oh, are you ordering me? What will you do if I say it out loud? You know what, I am going to tell to the whole world, PUCHIIIIII"

In a sudden turn of events, Clefable started to puke blood. It bend down cause some mysterious pressure was telling it to.

Other Clefables were also not in good condition. They were trying their best to stand up to the pressure but they could not. Angela was also kneeling down. It should not be forgotten that these Clefables were pseudo-champion rank Pokemon and Angela was a powerful trainer.

"I.... I A...MM.... SORR... Y..y...yyYY", shouted Clefable. It was trying to speak but it was unable to speak fluently.

Axel was not feeling that pressure. Others were. When the leader apologized, the pressure almost vanished and everything became normal.

All of them were now surprised and scared. Every living being feared dying and now they had just witnessed death trying to embrace them. Angela was also not in a good condition but the leader Clefable felt more pressure than others.

"I had already warned you to not say such things. I want just to say that to your benefit.", said Axel with a sigh.

The cat was already out of bag and the system had also taken its steps.

'Who was this higher being that did all this? How could it make a system that could do such things?', Axel thought.

Many things were playing in this mind but he had no answer.

After taking deep breaths and potions, Clefable was now okay.

"I am sorry about that. Please tell that entity that I would never do such a thing again.", said Clefable.

It was really scared. It was a champion-rank Pokemon so it could tell that the entity that did this was vastly more powerful than itself. It didn't want to mess with the wrong person.

"You think that I could convince it even if I want? It would do what it wants and I could not do anything. I cannot tell if you will be in trouble in the future.", said Axel.

"Is there any way to make it not trouble us?", asked Clefable. It was truly scared.

Axel didn't even look at Angela cause he didn't know how to explain any of these to her.

"I cannot do anything but I know that the entity wants me to be powerful for its purpose. So, I suggest that you give me that Moon stone and I have also made a proposal to Dracorock tribe...."

Axel started to explain the agreement that Dracorock had accepted. Clefable knew that Axel was taking advantage of the situation but there was nothing that it could do. It also was not losing anything. Giving a moonstone to Axel was not a big deal and the agreement with Dracorock, it didn't care much about it.

However, it was still angry that it was losing this conversation.

"I have no problems in it but there are some conditions.", said Clefable.

"Please do tell.", said Axel.

"First of all, using Moon stone to evolve is a tradition in our tribe. It is done in a fixed time and this could not be changed. You guys are lucky. The ceremony of Moon stone would be held after 3 days. So, you would have to wait till that time.

I would also have to clarify that even though your Nidorino would evolve to Nidoking, it would not have a complete evolution. That means that it would not be as powerful as normal Nidoking."

"Why is that?", asked Axel.

"It seems that you don't know much about moonstone evolution. We have this ceremony where many Clefairys evolve at the same time. This is done to utilize the full power of Moon stone. A Clefable would help a certain number of Clefairys to evolve and it could only help in the evolution process 1 time in 50 years. That is why many Clefairys evolve at the same time.

This is done to utilize the full power of Moon stone. But, I don't think that you know any Nidoking that would help with the evolution."

Axel became depressed after hearing it. If what Clefable said was true then Nidorino would not get optimum utilization from this evolution process.

"Don't worry, I have a solution for you.", said Clefable with a smile. It smiled cause it was now leading the conversation.

"The history of this cave is long but before us, there used to be a tribe a of Nidoking that lived in this cave. The tribe was equally powerful to ours and we use to live in harmony.

However, we started to fight, and fight we did. Our tribe won the fight and the Nidoking tribe was exterminated. But I feel that there might still be some Nidokings in the cave. The cave is a big one and even I don't know all of it.

I will point out the place that I monitor and you can check the place that I don't monitor. You might find some Nidokings if you are so lucky. But remember that you have only 3 days.", said the leader.
