As per Axel, 4 seconds was still a lot of time for an attack to hit. If Nidorino could use 3 substitutes like Shedinja, it would have been ideal. One substitute would engage in battle to shield them, while the other would assist Nidorino in the move.
"Nidorino, go to Shedinja and try to learn how to use multiple substitutes. Try to learn it within 1 week. Also, focus on 'Mud bomb', 'Sand Hardening', and 'Fissure'."
If Nidorino could learn it from Shedinja, he could use Nidorino against Kent.
Even though he was focusing a lot on his Pokemon's training, Axel was also training hard himself. Practicing stance was really hard. First, there was no one to tell him if he was doing it wrong. Even a centimeter of difference might result in a massive difference.
Second, it was hard to practice stance and sword moves. Axel had never practiced it in his life. After training hard for 3 whole weeks, he was able to level up 'Aura sense' to level 30 and 'Aura pressure' to level 10.
After 'Aura sense' leveled up to level 30, there was a massive upgrade. He could now sense Pokemon in a 50-meter radius. He realized that he could also sense minute things if he focused on it. 'Aura pressure' was a cool move. It made it possible for Axel to use invisible pressure on his opponents, similar to increasing gravity. The effect of it was non-existent to Pokemon, but it would affect humans to kneel down if they didn't have good body stats or aura.
