Chapter 308: Light Vs Golbat
Chapter 308: Light Vs Golbat
Keeping Absol and Tauros close by, as they lacked experience, Axel commanded, "Except for Crobat and Venusaur, recall every uncommon-rank Pokémon into their Pokéballs. Assist my Pokémon!"
The army of elemental-rank Pokémon charged forward. Among the enemy team's ten pseudo-king-rank Pokémon, five of them made a beeline for Axel's team. The king-rank Pokémon merely observed the chaos.
Nidorino, Beedrill, Gogoat, Mamoswine, and Alakazam charged in different directions, creating enough space between them.
Nidorino unleashed a 'Sludge Wave.'
Gogoat employed 'Field Control' and 'Grassy Terrain.'
Mamoswine created an 'Ice Domain.'
Alakazam teleported and sniped at the wild Pokémon.
Meanwhile, Beedrill acted like an assassin, moving so swiftly that it was nearly impossible to see. Enhanced by 'Agility' and 'Resolve (Stage III)', it began dispatching the wild Pokémon with single strikes. Sometimes it would utilize moves like 'X-Scissor', 'Drill Run', or 'Poison Jab.'
Their team consisted of nine elemental-rank Pokémon and five pseudo-king-rank Pokémon. While the latter group did their part, Axel's team proved highly efficient in neutralizing the wild Pokémon.
Venusaur and Charizard immediately unleashed 'Grass Pledge' and 'Fire Pledge', maximizing damage. Although it didn't eliminate any wild Pokémon, it created a distraction and bought a few much-needed seconds of respite.
Nidorino acted as a tank, enduring as many hits as possible. This worked in its favor, thanks to its new move, 'Poison Damage Transfer' which allowed it to heal from poisoned Pokémon.
Shedinja, the dark horse, possessed a formidable 'Shadow Ball' attack, reaching level 45 in power. It continuously employed 'Shadow Jump' and bombarded enemies with 'Shadow Ball'. Its proficiency was such that it remained untouched throughout the battle.
However, the killing spree came to a halt when Axel's Pokémon had to confront five pseudo-king-rank Pokémon:
Nidorino took on Arcanine.
Beedrill faced Nidorina.
Alakazam confronted Golbat.
Gogoat matched Primeape.
Mamoswine battled Poliwrath.
Shedinja refrained from participating due to the high risks involved. Nevertheless, Axel instructed Nidorino to assist Shedinja against Arcanine, despite the latter's fire typing. It was a risky move, considering Nidorino was still an elemental-rank Pokémon, albeit one capable of enduring hits.
Mark, A, B, and K's Pokémon engaged the remaining elemental-rank Pokémon, with the rare-rank Pokémon lending support. The battle had been ongoing for five minutes, fortunately without any casualties on their side.
Axel didn't have the luxury of tending to his Pokémon individually as he had to provide instructions to his teammates and ensure their safety.
###
Alakazam versus Golbat
This proved to be a challenging encounter for Alakazam. Despite Golbat's vulnerability to psychic-type attacks, its moves like 'Confusion' and 'Supersonic' posed a headache for Alakazam.
Axel had already urged them to end the battle swiftly.
Golbat attempted to approach and attack, but Alakazam knew better and used 'Teleport' each time Golbat drew near.
Golbat then unleashed 'Air Cutter', with air slashes hurtling toward Alakazam. Alakazam countered by employing 'Elemental Manipulation' fashioning fire swords to deflect the attack.
Next, Golbat resorted to 'Supersonic', an exceedingly fast and nearly invisible move. Alakazam had no defense against it and became confused. It tried using 'Calm Mind' to regain control, but to no avail.
'Supersonic' proved to be a major nuisance. After sometime, Alakazam devised an intriguing strategy. As 'Supersonic' was a sound-based attack and sound does not travel in a vacuum, Alakazam swiftly used 'Greater Telekinesis' to control the air flow around it. This proved challenging, as creating a vacuum required considerable effort.
Miraculously, it succeeded.
---
Ding!
Greater Telekinesis has leveled up to 25.

Alakazam successfully blocked the 'Supersonic' attack. Although Golbat sensed its attack had been nullified, it remained oblivious to how it had occurred.
Alakazam remained confused, struggling to regain composure. Taking advantage of the situation, Golbat launched another 'Supersonic' attack.
This time, Alakazam could visualize the attack itself. It emitted a loud cry, witnessing the deep purple sound waves. Alakazam attempted to use 'Greater Telekinesis' once again, but unfortunately, the attack landed before it could block it. Alakazam began to bleed from the impact and became poisoned.
This combination of 'Supersonic' and a poison-type attack seemed to be a new move, making it challenging to battle Pokémon with elemental rank or higher. Unfamiliar techniques posed a significant hurdle.
Observing this, Axel commanded, "Venusaur, use 'Aromatherapy' on Alakazam and heal it with 'Leech Whip.'"
"Don't use either on me," Alakazam retorted.
Venusaur promptly followed Alakazam's instructions without interfering further.
Alakazam, then, resorted to a move it hadn't used in a while, focusing intently to maximize its effects. With the move executed, the battle immediately swung in its favor.
It had used 'Psycho Shift.'
