Chapter 275: Evolutions and rank up 1

Since he had just learned the move, it didn't create a huge difference that it would decrease the fighting ability of pseudo-king ranked Pokemon. However, he decide to practice it every morning.

A King rank Pokemon could kill a human with their aura pressure. He was not a normal human as he had already trained in his aura but he wanted to be on the safe side.

Pidgey was growing very well. It had only been a month since it joined the team but its powers had increased by leaps and bounds. Yet, it didn't have fought a good battle against its opponents. It didn't have much experience in the field. Axel decided that it was now time for it.

The first battle it had was in the wild against Golbat. Axel had requested it to battle his Pidgey. It had agreed as it also seemed like a battle-hungry Pokemon. The result?

Well, it went exactly as Axel had expected.

"Flappy, first use 'Agility' and then use 'Steel wing'"

"Pi...."

It was successfully able to use 'Agility' 1 time but it could not use it the second time as Golbat had already thrown 'Shadow ball'.

It dodged the attack and proceeded to attack with 'Steel wing', but Golbat was fast and used 'Quick attack'.

The move hit it and it was flown in the air and stabilized itself for the next attack. Pidgey used 'Aerial ace'. It was very proud of this move as it had mastered it more than others but Golbat at the same time used 'Supersonic'.

Pidgey's ability 'Keen eye' let it focus but the 'Supersonic' was very powerful for it to handle and it was hit with 'Air cutter'.

Since it was a flying type move, it was not super effective against Pidgey but it was getting frustrated as it was not able to land a single hit.

The battle continued and Pidgey was only able to connect 1 'Aerial ace' before it lost.

Axel had expected it to lose. Granted Golbat was an uncommon rank Pokemon but Axel had personally trained Pidgey and with the help of Mew's books, it had a solid foundation.

It only lost cause it didn't have any experience. Using 'Aerial ace' on a still target and on a living target that could move was a totally different thing. Axel wanted it to realize that.

When he saw Steven's battle, Axel had come to a horrible realization that he was not strong enough to beat the best. Aggron was strong, there was no doubt about it but it could hold the stand due to Steven's planning. Axel could also tell that Aggron was very experienced in battle.

The tide brought many negative feelings towards Axel but his Pokemon also got experienced in battle. They had to fight every day for a month in fear that they might lose their life. This made them very experienced in how to battle different opponents.

Pidgey had to learn it too. Axel could give it commands and instructions but during the tide, a Pokemon had to make split second decisions by themselves and they could only learn it by fighting other Pokemons.

After losing the battle, Axel told it that it lacked experience in fighting and it should battle more to get more experience.

That day, they fought a total of 6 wild Pokemons. Most of them were in uncommon rank. Pidgey didn't win any of those battles but it was improving a lot.

Axel didn't have time to spend a whole day with Pidgey. He wanted to spend time with it but he had other Pokemons to look after and his baby brother.

So, he made a deal with Slowbro in the forest to let Pidgey fight other Pokemon for battle experience. Slowbro didn't have any problems with it as Pidgey was a part of the forest before.

Axel looked at Gyarados. Gyarados came next to him and lowered its head. Axel patted its head to being a good boy. Gyarados had improved tremendously after it had evolved. It was already close to reaching rare rank. The tide had helped it a lot. Most of its moves were now in 30s and its ability and hidden ability had also improved a lot.

It had also reached its rank up situation and Axel had definitely extended it. Axel wanted it to have all S rank stat before its rank up. He didn't add any other conditions and knew that it would be enough.

He wanted it to have a new move but decided against it. Unlike Charizard or Ivysaur, it didn't have 3 stages of evolution. It had just evolved recently, so he didn't want to pressure it too much.

Gyarados was a water-type Pokemon so it would like to swim in water on a regular basis. It would disappear in the afternoon and swim in the sea. It was very loyal to Axel but it was not a friendly type of Pokemon.
