Chapter 459: Provocation

Chapter 459: Provocation

While it was true that Medidite and the Natus individually weren't as powerful as Gardevoir, the gap between them wasn't as significant as one might imagine. Most of the Natus and Medidite were above level thirty.

So, despite Gardevoir's strength, it couldn't make any headway against the coordinated efforts of nearly thirty Pokémon.

Seeing Gardevoir struggling to resist, Yuga said, "Why do you persist like this? You've served your master wholeheartedly, but do you truly believe he feels the same way about you?"

"Gardevoir!"

Gardevoir stopped its attacks and looked at Yuga, questioning what he meant.

So, Yuga proceeded to recount everything he knew about Butler giving up on saving Salamence and the others and choosing to collect Groudon's body fragment instead.

"With your Gardevoir family's innate abilities, you should be able to sense that I'm not lying," Yuga said to the silent Gardevoir.

Ralts, classified as an Emotion Pokémon, had red, horn-like protrusions on their heads that could sense the emotions of humans and Pokémon alike. Thus, they could easily detect whether someone was telling a lie.

Ralts's unique talent didn't diminish as they evolved; instead, it continued to strengthen. The red organs used to sense emotions wouldn't disappear with evolution.

For example, the two red spikes on Kirlia's head; the red fin-like objects on the chests and backs of Gardevoir and Gallade are all their sharp weapons for sensing the emotions of creatures.

Yuga's statement did indeed carry a hint of provocation, but he hadn't lied. It was more of a calculated move.

The bonds between humans and Pokémon were never one-sided. If only one side invested in the relationship, the results were usually unsatisfactory. Yuga was merely helping Gardevoir see the true nature of its "worthless" trainer.

Listening to Yuga's account about Salamence and the others, Gardevoir grew visibly quieter.

Salamence, Houndoom, and Dusclops had been its companions, and they had trained and lived together. Gardevoir had always believed that their trainer's decision to part with them was an unavoidable situation. But now, it realized that they meant less to their trainer than a mere stone.

Seeing Gardevoir sitting on the ground with vacant eyes, Yuga signaled for Medidite and the Natus to remove the psychic barriers surrounding it. Then, he spoke to Gardevoir.

"I don't expect you to forgive me, but you can live peacefully here. I won't harm you or the Bagon."

"In the end, the feud between your trainer and me is our own business. If he chooses to provoke me, he should be prepared to face the consequences. You've been with him for a long time; surely, you understand such a simple truth? 'An eye for an eye.'"

Yuga knew that his words were harsh and would severely impact the bond between Gardevoir and Butler. But this was the reality.

He didn't expect Gardevoir to submit to him; he was willing to provide for it, and as long as it didn't cause any more trouble, Yuga would be content.

Looking at Gardevoir, deeply affected by his words, Yuga suddenly felt that he had been quite ruthless.

Pokémon like Gardevoir were typically incredibly loyal to their trainers, even willing to sacrifice their lives for them.

However, conversely, once they receive a blow from their own trainer, it can be devastating, potentially causing them to lose all spirit. It's a reminder of the saying, "The deeper the love, the greater the pain."

Seeing that Gardevoir had completely lost its fighting spirit, Yuga instructed Medidite and the Natus to continue watching over it. Then, he left with the Bagon's egg.

To prevent any further issues with the Bagon's egg, Yuga planned to take it to the Grassland Sub-Ecopark, where the Miltanks could care for it.

On the way, Yuga glanced at Chatot and noticed that in the two months since returning from Kanto, Chatot had risen from level 18 to over 30, showing significant progress in strength. This wasn't surprising, considering Chatot's potential had been upgraded to Indigo potential due to Ho-oh. Plus, it had once been a pseudo-Elite level Pokémon, so rapid improvement was expected.

In these past two months, Chatot had been working exceptionally hard, largely because of the immense pressure brought by his spouse.

Previously, both Chatot and Noctowl is pseudo-Elite level Pokémon, but due to injuries, Chatot's strength regressed. As a result, he spiraled into despair and recklessness, knowing his remaining days were numbered.

Although his injuries had now healed, and his strength was no longer stagnant, Chatot still felt immense pressure from his spouse's advancement to Elite level. However, his prior experience as a pseudo-Elite level, combined with his improved potential, made it clear that he was well on his way to catching up.

Upon arriving at the Ecopark, Yuga was about to hand the Bagon's egg to the Miltank leader when the egg began to emit a radiant glow.

"It's about to hatch!" Chatot exclaimed in surprise.

Both Yuga and the Miltank leader stared anxiously at the Bagon's egg, hoping not to disturb its birth.

After approximately ten minutes, they witnessed the radiance dissipating, and Yuga was holding a tiny, adorable Bagon in his hands.

The Bagon emerged with round, innocent eyes and gazed at Yuga. Then, it glanced at the flying Chatot and the Miltanks on the ground, sensing everyone's attention. It pouted slightly, and it seemed like tears were about to well up.

Upon seeing the Bagon on the verge of tears, Yuga and the Miltank leader hurriedly cooed and comforted it until they managed to get a bottle of Moomoo Milk into its mouth, successfully preventing the tears from falling.

As the first pseudo-Legendary Pokémon born in the Ecopark (excluding Dragonite and Dragonair), Yuga held a deep appreciation for Bagon. Its arrival meant that there would be a second, a third, and even a fourth pseudo-Legendary Pokémon in the Ecopark in the future.

Achieving this was undeniably challenging, but it wasn't impossible. With determination, a substantial group of pseudo-Legendary would certainly emerge someday.
