Chapter 438: Rumors
Chapter 438: Rumors
Once Gon stood by Yuga's side, Yuga explained everything: how he had been entrusted by Bell Tower to find the Chosen One, how they had coincidentally met Gon, and what their plans were for the journey, where they were going, and what they would be doing.
"So, after we complete the trial, you'll take me to Bell Tower?" After hearing Yuga's explanation, Gon asked.
Yuga nodded and replied, "Yes, you are the chosen Chosen One of Bell Tower, and you will inherit it in the future. You must go there."
"But I'd rather stay with Big Brother Shimizu. I don't want to become the Chosen One of Bell Tower."
Gon wore a reluctant expression on his face.
Yuga had been the best person to Gon since he could remember. Unconsciously, he had come to see Yuga as his closest person. Just the thought of parting ways with Yuga soon filled his heart with reluctance.
Yuga chuckled and ruffled Gon's hair. "I can't be with you forever. You have to grow up and become stronger."
Yuga felt like an old father, worrying about his child's safety while also being concerned about his growth. It was truly heart-wrenching.
After hearing Yuga's words, Gon simply lowered his head and didn't say anything. Yuga wasn't sure if he had taken it to heart.
Having explained the reasons behind their journey to Gon, Yuga turned his gaze to Sabrina and curiously asked, "We each have our own reasons for wanting to meet the Ho-oh. Why do you want to join us?"
Sabrina replied, "I'm going because Gon is going. I want to help him."
Sabrina was a very strong-willed person, but ever since she had been startled by the King of Ghost powers emanating from Yuga, she always appeared quite unsure when talking to him.
"No!" Yuga opposed.
"Why not? I'm going with Gon, it has nothing to do with you!"
When Sabrina heard Yuga's objection, her voice unintentionally raised, and her attitude became somewhat stubborn.
"No means no. Gon has me by his side; you should stay in your gym."
Yuga's stance grew even more resolute.
"Big Brother Shimizu, let's let Sabrina Sister come with us. Sabrina Sister is very strong and will definitely be able to help."
Surprisingly, Gon began pleading on Sabrina's behalf, which left Yuga quite puzzled.
In reality, Gon's idea was straightforward: he wanted to provide Yuga with an extra helper, and Sabrina's strength made her a suitable choice. Plus, she was willing to go.
After the incident with Suicune, the clever Gon knew that their journey wouldn't be smooth sailing, so the more help they had, the better.
Yuga silently watched Gon's plea for Sabrina, as if asking, "When did your relationship become so close?"
After locking eyes with Gon for two minutes, Yuga reluctantly agreed to his request. After all, Gon was the main character of the Rainbow Hero trial, and if he wanted Sabrina to come along, Yuga would accept it.
And so, their journey through the Mount Tensei gained two more members with Sabrina's inclusion.
With Sabrina joining, there was no need for them to stay longer at Sabrina's house. Teaching Gon how to use psychic powers could be done while traveling, and Sabrina temporarily entrusted her gym to her father.
As they left the gym, Yuga suddenly noticed an extra Poké Ball on Gon's belt. Upon inquiry, he learned that Sabrina had given him a Slowpoke.
...

Type: Water, Psychic
Ability: Oblivious
Gender: Female
Potential: Green
Level: 15
Moves: Curse, Yawn, Water Gun, Confusion, Disable, Sleep Talk
...
Perhaps because of its "Oblivious" ability, the Slowpoke Sabrina gave Gon appeared to be quite slow and cute. Even when someone spoke to it, it would take a while to react.
However, what was truly remarkable was that when Gon or Sabrina communicated with it using psychic powers, it became remarkably clever.
Yuga speculated that this must be a special training method that psychics like Sabrina used to nurture Slowpoke.
In summary, although this Slowpoke's potential was not as high as Gon's Kadabra, it was still quite good, and it even inherited a special move called Sleep Talk.
Seeing how Sabrina treated Gon so gently, Yuga couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy. He wished he could also be affectionately cared for by a beautiful girl.
After leaving Saffron City, their next destination was Vermilion City, the last city they would visit before reaching the Mount Tensei. Vermilion City was located very close to Saffron City, just a short distance away, much closer than the journey from Cerulean City to Saffron City.
At their current pace, Yuga estimated that they could reach Vermilion City in less than a day.
Vermilion City was the second-largest city in the Kanto region, just behind Saffron City. It was also a bustling and lively city.
According to Eusine, Vermilion City was originally his hometown, but due to some special circumstances, he had moved to the Johto region with his family.
Yuga found this quite surprising; he had initially thought that Eusine was a Johto native, but it turned out he was from the Kanto region.
When the four of them arrived in Vermilion City, it was almost evening. They headed straight for the Pokémon Center in Vermilion City, planning to stay overnight before setting off again.
However, as soon as they arrived at the Pokémon Center in Vermilion City, they heard astonishing news: someone had seen the legendary Pokémon Entei in the nearby forest.
Yuga and his group exchanged glances and immediately understood what this meant. Entei might be coming for them.
After a brief rest at the Pokémon Center, Yuga and his team inquired with the trainers here about the rumors surrounding Entei's appearance.
This matter was no longer a secret, and they easily gathered the information they needed.
According to eyewitnesses, Entei was spotted in a forest south of Vermilion City, and there was more than one person who had seen it.
After gathering this information, Yuga decided to take Gon to the forest where Entei was sighted.
If Entei was indeed coming because of Gon, there was no way to avoid it. Entei was the messenger of the Ho-oh, and like Suicune, its purpose was to see if Gon, as the chosen Rainbow Feather, was qualified.
Instead of trying to evade the situation, they would confront it head-on. As Rainbow Heroes, strength might not be the most critical factor; having the courage to face challenges was even more important.
Moreover, Entei wasn't here to harm them. If they lacked the courage to confront it, how could they talk about finding the Ho-oh?
