Chapter 416: Abadonment
Chapter 416: Abadonment
"How can there be no way? If necessary, we'll go see my master. With his abilities, he'll surely find a solution," Yuga's expression became somewhat excited. He believed that his master, with his remarkable skills, would surely have a solution.
Chatot raised its head to look at Yuga and said, "No, Mr. Kuni'o'o didn't have a solution either."
Back in Mauville City Manor, during their first encounter, Mr. Kuni'o had already noticed Chatot's ailing condition. However, he had chosen not to reveal it to Yuga, as Chatot had desperately implored him to keep it a secret.
Later, Chatot approached Mr. Kuni'o, seeking to maintain the facade of normalcy in front of Yuga. It knew that its time was limited, and it simply wanted to enjoy its remaining days in the joyful atmosphere of YoYo Day Care, rather than burdening Yuga with its plight.
Mr. Kuni'o had examined Chatot's condition, intending to address its underlying health issues, but he discovered that Chatot's physical state was too deteriorated. Even Mr. Kuni'o's healing abilities couldn't help in this situation.
Mr. Kuni'o understood Chatot's wish to keep this a secret from Yuga and decided to respect that.
"It's alright; even if Master can't help, we have Revival Herb. Once I cultivate the Revival Herb, it should be able to solve your problem," Yuga suddenly remembered that he had Revival Herb seeds in his Ecopark. He believed that Revival Herb would be the answer.
However, Chatot shook its head gently and said, "It's useless. Mr. Kuni'o told me that Revival Herb can only heal injuries, not restore life force. What I lack is life force, not an injury."
The Revival Herb seeds Yuga possessed were also given to him by Mr. Kuni'o. It was inconceivable that Mr. Kuni'o wouldn't understand the properties of Revival Herb or overlook its potential use.
After hearing Chatot's explanation, Yuga hung his head in disappointment. Did this mean he would have to watch Chatot die right in front of him?
Although Chatot often had a sharp tongue, lacked power, and caused occasional chaos, Yuga couldn't deny the vibrancy and liveliness it brought to YoYo Day Care. After spending such a long time together, emotions had naturally developed.
He couldn't bear to see Chatot pass away like this.
"You should tell me what happened, exactly," Yuga lifted his head to look at Chatot and said.
Seeing Yuga's determined gaze, Chatot silently nodded.
Chatot was born in Sinnoh, a carefree wild Pokémon until the day it encountered a Trainer named Captain Phantom, the leader of a unique circus troupe. Unlike ordinary circuses, this troupe consisted of adventurers who combined performances with explorations.
Their current visit to Sinnoh was both for a performance and an adventure. Captain Phantom was the one who met Chatot.
Captain Phantom treated Chatot exceptionally well, training it diligently and even teaching it to speak. Chatot grew fond of its Trainer. It put great effort into learning human language and honing its abilities.
Chatot possessed outstanding potential, with a rare blue potential among Pokémon. Because of this, Captain Phantom cherished Chatot deeply and invested all his energy into its growth.
With the blue potential and Captain Phantom's dedicated training, Chatot's strength gradually reached the level of a pseudo-Elite, becoming the strongest Pokémon in the troupe.
Chatot thought it would spend its entire life happily with Captain Phantom, adventuring and performing together without a care in the world. Yet, the world is unpredictable, and Chatot's perception of an "entire life" was cut short.
The circus troupe stumbled upon a mysterious relic—an ancient site that contained information about Manaphy, the Mythical Pokémon, and the Sea Crown, said to grant control over the sea.
The relic was left behind by the People of the Water, revealing the location of their ancestral homeland, information about the mythical Pokémon Manaphy, and details about the Sea Crown.
However, exploring the interior of the relic was perilous. Most members of the troupe who ventured inside lost their lives, with only a few managing to escape.
Nevertheless, some individuals did make it deep into the relic's depths, including Captain Phantom and Chatot.
However, the depths of the relic were often the most dangerous places.
Upon seeing the information deep within the relic regarding the People of the Water, Manaphy, and the Sea Crown, they were suddenly attacked by a powerful Clawitzer.
Chatot's strength was no match for the powerful Clawitzer.
At a critical moment, Captain Phantom took out a vial of potion and made Chatot drink it.
After consuming the potion, Chatot felt intense pain throughout its body. It was as if it was about to explode, and even its consciousness began to gradually fade, leaving only one thought: to fight.
It seemed like the potion had activated something within Chatot, flooding it with an overwhelming surge of power.
The battle was fierce, and with the potion's effects, Chatot's strength became on par with the Clawitzer. In the end, both were severely injured.
Chatot couldn't pinpoint when it had lost consciousness. It only woke up to find the relic had collapsed. The troupe members, Captain Phantom, and the Clawitzer had all disappeared, leaving Chatot battered and lying among the rubble.
Chatot struggled to get up and fly, but it couldn't. It felt as though its body was shattered, and the pain was unbearable.
It realized that this was the result of the potion Captain Phantom had made it drink. Such sensations were not typical for injuries alone.
Furthermore, it noticed that the connection between itself and its Poké Ball had disappeared.
Chatot instantly understood; it was either had been abandoned by Captain Phantom or Captain Phantom might have perished. In either case, it was not the outcome Chatot had wanted.
While Chatot was awaiting to die, it encountered a Noctowl. The Noctowl brought it home and took care of it.
Under the attentive care of the Noctowl, Chatot's injuries gradually improved, and it regained its vitality.
In this new environment, Chatot lived happily with the Noctowl. It never thought of seeking out Captain Phantom again because whether Captain Phantom was dead or had abandoned it, there was no need to find him anymore.
However, the good times didn't last long. Chatot soon realized that its body was deteriorating, and its strength was waning. Even the skills it used to master were gradually becoming unusable.
It was because of that potion! Chatot instantly made the connection.
Desperate to solve its health issues, Chatot started searching for a solution. The Noctowl also noticed the problem and helped in the search, but there was no solution in sight.
Over time, Chatot's strength declined from pseudo-Elite level to a mere 18, and its once-blue potential had degraded to yellow. Its body was gradually withering away.
Knowing it didn't have much time left, Chatot chose to run away. It wanted to distance itself from the Noctowl and leave their home.
And so, Chatot returned to the human world, embarking on aimless wanderings. Its personality gradually transformed into what it is now. Then, it encountered Yuga in Verdanturf Town and entered YoYo Day Care.
Not long after, the pregnant Noctowl found Chatot.
Noctowl didn't blame Chatot and didn't express any opinions about its behavior, even though Chatot had been flirting and causing trouble everywhere. That's because Noctowl understood Chatot and believed that Chatot had always been the same Chatot it remembered.
As for the claims Chatot had made about Noctowl having a crush on it and all the other nonsense it had said, those were all fabrications made up to fool Yuga.
