Chapter 343: The Elite
Chapter 343: The Elite
"By the way, Young Master Shimizu, have you found Motohara's whereabouts?" Ryuichi asked.
Yuga nodded and replied, "I've found it." Even though it was a predicted location.
"Do you need my help then?" Ryuichi asked eagerly.
Yuga shook his head and said, "No need. I can handle it myself."
Although having Ryuichi's assistance would make things easier, Yuga didn't want to rely on others blindly. He believed in self-reliance rather than depending on external help.
Moreover, he and Ryuichi, along with Mr. Kuni'o, weren't related by blood, so constantly troubling others felt inappropriate.
Though their current situation was already quite troublesome, Yuga preferred to keep it as minimal as possible.
If he truly couldn't resolve it, he could seek help later.
"Alright, feel free to ask if you need anything," Ryuichi nodded in agreement.
So, Yuga spent the following time considering his strategy against Motohara. However, he couldn't find a good solution. Dealing with an experienced pseudo-Elite Trainer was a daunting task for Yuga.
But one morning, while checking the Trainer's Shop in the system after breakfast, Yuga had an idea. He had obtained a Potential Evolution Potion.
After finishing breakfast, he quickly called his home, and Suzuki Koen answered the phone.
"Hey, Sister Koen, is Chatot in the shop?"
Suzuki Koen glanced at Chatot perched on a small tree in the shop and replied, "Yes, it's here. Do you need something with it?"
Yuga breathed a sigh of relief; that was a good sign. Due to Noctowl's influence, Chatot rarely stayed in the Ecopark. So, Yuga had Suzuki Koen help locate Chatot.
"Please let Chatot take the call."
Suzuki Koen nodded.
In no time, Chatot fluttered over, using its wing to take the phone from Suzuki Koen's hand. It chirped, "Darling, what do you need? Missed me already?"
Yuga sighed and said, "Enough with the sweet talk. I have something to discuss."
"What is it? Don't be so formal with me!"
"Go to the Ecopark and tell your wife that I need her to go into her Poké Ball. Then, ask Sister Koen to go to the Pokémon Center and have Noctowl transfer it to me."
"You... you want me to find Kitty-chan?"
Chatot was taken aback.
"Yes, what's the issue? How many wives do you have?" Yuga replied exasperatedly.
"I... I won't go!" Chatot firmly refused.
"Are you sure? You've been freeloading here for so long. You won't even do this much?"
"Um..." Chatot hesitated, rendered speechless.
"Well, if you won't cooperate, despite getting a free ride, what kind of partner are you?" Yuga's tone took on a dangerous edge.
"I... I'll go, okay!" Chatot reluctantly agreed.
About half an hour later, Yuga received Noctowl's Poké Ball via the The Manor's Trade Machine, sparing him a trip to the Pokémon Center.
In the yard, Yuga released Noctowl from its Poké Ball. He greeted it with a smile, saying, "Hello there, Noctowl!"
Noctowl nodded slightly in response, acknowledging Yuga's greeting. Then, it looked at Yuga with a puzzled expression, seemingly wondering why Yuga had summoned it.
Yuga wiped the smile off his face and spoke sternly, "Noctowl, I want to make a deal with you."
"Noctowl..."
Noctowl tilted its head, not quite understanding Yuga's intentions.
Yuga continued, "I'll help you reach the level of an Elite, and in return, you join the YoYo Day Care. How does that sound?"
The Noctowl was the only Pokémon in the Ecopark that hadn't clearly indicated its intention to join the YoYo Day Care, apart from the Dragonite.
The reason it had stayed was solely because of the relationship between Chatot, its offspring, and itself. So, it was at this moment that Yuga proposed this trade.
Noctowl had been at level 69 for many years, and while it had accumulated experience, it had been held back by its potential. Yuga believed that with a Potential Evolution Potion, it could easily break through.
However, upon hearing Yuga's proposal, Noctowl seemed puzzled. Wasn't it already a member of the YoYo Day Care?
Pokémon tend to have straightforward thoughts, even for big shots like Noctowl. It believed its partner had stayed in the YoYo Day Care, its child had been born there, so it naturally considered itself a part of it. Why wouldn't it?
Furthermore, considering how both myself and the child have been freeloaders at the YoYo Day Care for so long, there's no reason not to join the YoYo Day Care. Not every Pokémon can be as shameless as a Chatot, after all.
Thus, a communication gap existed between Yuga and Noctowl in this situation, leading to a misunderstanding. One thought the other was just staying temporarily, while the other already considered itself a member.
Nonetheless, if this would help it reach the Elite level, why not agree? So, Noctowl nodded.
This misunderstanding between Yuga and Noctowl continued, unresolved.
Seeing Noctowl's agreement, Yuga felt ecstatic. With Noctowl breaking through to the Elite level, what did he have to fear from Motohara? Even if Motohara had three pseudo-Elite level Pokémon, Yuga wouldn't be afraid!
Elite-level Pokémon were truly impressive!
Yuga still vividly remembered the Elite-level Salamence that had caused a commotion on the train. It had left a profound impression.
Though Noctowl was not on the same level as Salamence, it was still an Elite, not a pseudo-Elite.
Without further ado, Yuga took out the Potential Evolution Potion he had just exchanged and had Noctowl drink it.
Shortly after Noctowl consumed the Potential Evolution Potion, its aura began to change dramatically, exuding a terrifying and escalating pressure.
Yuga, who was relatively close, had to step back due to the overwhelming aura. Even the nearby Bellossom were startled.
While Noctowl's breakthrough aura was intimidating, it didn't reach catastrophic levels. It subsided after a while.
When Noctowl's terrifying presence finally receded, Yuga activated his Insight.

The Potential Evolution Potion had indeed pushed Noctowl to the Elite level. Not only that, it had surpassed the typical Elite threshold of level 70, reaching an impressive level 72.
However, its moveset remained largely unchanged.
If it weren't for its potential limitations, Noctowl would likely have become an Elite-level Pokémon long ago. Achieving level 72 was no small feat, and it was all due to its accumulated experience; there was no other explanation.
What Yuga didn't know was that at the moment of Noctowl's breakthrough to the Elite level, Mr. Kuni'o, who was brewing tea in the distant yard, suddenly stopped his actions. Shortly thereafter, a Jumpluff quietly appeared above Yuga's yard.
After returning, Jumpluff chatted with Mr. Kuni'o, who nodded in acknowledgment and waved it off. Jumpluff then flew away silently.
