Chapter 335: Reunion in Mauville City
Chapter 335: Reunion in Mauville City
So Yuga shared his encounter with the Gengar attack on Illuma Island with Beidou, which greatly surprised him.
However, Yuga didn't pay too much attention to their team leader's situation. But if they crossed paths again, he wouldn't hesitate to take action.
When Beidou arrived at YoYo Day Care, he had more tasks than just teaching Sena.
Yuga also asked him to explore the Verdanturf Town regularly to see if they could discover any promising talents. After all, building an influence required more than just Sena.
However, this needed to be done gradually; there was no rush.
In summary, Beidou's arrival didn't bring significant changes to YoYo Day Care, aside from having one more mouth to feed. Another benefit was that Yuga delegated the cooking duties to Beidou.
As a Trainer who had traveled extensively, Beidou had excellent culinary skills. Unbeknownst to many, including Suzuki Koen, Windy, and Misaki, they believed Beidou was a chef specially hired by Yuga.
Yuga's aunt and uncle returned from their trip to Sootopolis City four days later. Yuga personally picked them up from the airport.
He could clearly sense his aunt's improved mood; she always had a smile on her face and chatted incessantly about Luna's progress at school. Luna had been doing exceptionally well, both in terms of behavior and academic performance. It seemed that the change in environment had transformed her somewhat fragile personality. Yuga's aunt was immensely proud of her.
Yuga also made a point of calling Robert to express his gratitude.
One day, Yuga received a call from Director Mond, informing him that a new batch of Pokémon Eggs had arrived and invited Yuga to pick them up.
Yuga set off that very day.
This time, he didn't use his Dragonair or the shortcut through the Rusturf Tunnel. Instead, he took the official route.
This was because he planned to make a detour to Mauville City to investigate his parents' situation.
He didn't bring Chimecho with him this time; instead, he brought his Great Flygon that had recently brokenthrought.
Chimecho still struggled to control her excessive psychic power, even though she could now limit the effect to a three-meter radius centered around her. However, within this range, the gravitational pressure became even greater.
Currently, no one dared to approach her. Even the workers who prepared her food placed the Pokéblocks far away, allowing her to eat on her own.
Yuga had sworn off trains and high-speed rail travel due to his past experiences. He had a lingering aversion to them.
After landing, Yuga walked through the familiar streets of Mauville City with mixed feelings.
The last time he had been here, Audino had been by his side, and they had explored the city's culinary delights together.
Yuga didn't rush to visit the Luminescnet Jewelry Shop this time. Instead, he planned to register at the Pokémon Center; he knew he wouldn't be leaving today.
As Yuga walked towards the Pokémon Center, he didn't notice a black car on the opposite side of the road. An elderly man inside the car was watching him intently.
As soon as he walked to the door of the Pokémon Center and was about to go in, he was blocked by a sturdy man wearing a black suit and black sunglasses.
Yuga couldn't help but wonder about this situation. Who was this man dressed in such a mafia-like attire? Had he already offended someone in Mauville City, right after his arrival?
"Is it Young Master Shimizu?"
He appeared rather fierce, but surprisingly, his tone was polite, and his demeanor quite friendly.
It seems like he's not here to cause trouble.
Yuga looked at the imposing man and couldn't help but think, "What kind of setup is this? Does this thug really think I'm a 'young master'? Do I even remotely resemble one?"
After a momentary lapse, Yuga couldn't resist looking down at his attire for the day. Well, it was quite ordinary; he certainly didn't look like a "young master."
"I'm Shimizu Yuga. Who are you?" Yuga inquired.
"Hello, I'm Ryuichi," the imposing man responded politely, despite his intimidating appearance. His tone was friendly and gentle.
It seemed like this wasn't a hostile encounter. But why did they think he was a "young master"?
The man in the suit introduced himself as Ryuichi.
"Ryuichi? I don't know you," Yuga replied.
"Our old man would like to invite you over," Ryuichi continued.
Yuga couldn't help but think this situation resembled something out of a TV drama. However, the man in front of him didn't seem like an antagonist.
But who was this "old man"? Did Yuga know any old men who might be involved?
"May I ask who your old man is..."
"You'll find out once you arrive. Please don't misunderstand; our old man simply wants to meet you," Ryuichi explained.
Ryuichi was significantly taller than Yuga, forcing Yuga to look up at him. Yuga wondered what this man had been eating to grow so tall. Chicken feet, perhaps? Yuga sighed; he felt exhausted.
Despite his intimidating appearance, Ryuichi seemed like a decent person. Yuga reluctantly nodded and followed him, ready to meet this mysterious "old man."
Yuga and Ryuichi got into an upscale-looking black car. Yuga wasn't familiar with luxury cars, but it certainly appeared high-end.
After a short drive, they arrived at a stylish teahouse.
As Yuga followed Ryuichi inside, he noticed that the teahouse was completely empty. It seemed like they had reserved the entire place—truly extravagant.
However, Ryuichi's next words surprised Yuga, making him realize how little he knew.
"This teahouse belongs to our old man, and it's only open when our old man isn't here."
So, when the old man was present, they didn't run the business? That was another level of extravagance!
As they passed through several beaded curtains, Yuga finally saw an elderly man with white hair sitting inside.
"Is it you, sir?" Yuga exclaimed in surprise.
It turned out that this "old man" was the one who had sold him herb seeds in Mossdeep City and given him the "Comprehensive Guide of Medical Herb Cultivation."
The old man glanced at Yuga, nodded in acknowledgment, but didn't speak. Instead, he gestured toward a chair opposite him, indicating for Yuga to sit down.
Yuga approached, bowed slightly to show respect, and took a seat across from the old man.
The old man poured a cup of tea from the teapot in front of him and pushed it toward Yuga, saying, "Try it."
The tea had a pale green color with a few delicate leaves floating inside. As Yuga took a sip, he found it delicious but couldn't quite describe the flavor.
"Great tea!" Yuga complimented.
The old man asked, "Do you understand tea?"
The old man continued to be concise in his words.
Embarrassed, Yuga replied, "Heh... I don't, but it tastes good."
The old man didn't mind and simply nodded.
"I wonder why you've invited me here?" Yuga couldn't help but ask.
The old man shook his head and said, "No specific reason, I saw you on the street and wanted to meet you. Do you have any urgent matters? You can leave; don't mind me."
Yuga shook his head; he didn't have any urgent matters. And he wasn't in a hurry to deal with his own affairs.
