Under Yuga's insight ability, Greninja's strength was immediately apparent.
Unfortunately, its power was noticeably stronger than Yuga's strongest Pokémon, Linoone, both in terms of potential and level.
No wonder only a few lackeys were left by the Clawitzer; it turned out the real ace in the hole was Greninja, whose strength surpassed even the leader of Clawitzer.
While Yuga was in a daze, Greninja had already swiftly closed the distance toward him.
Seeing this situation, Yuga clenched his teeth and decided to go all out—his Pokémon's strength might not be enough, but as a Trainer, he would fight alongside them.
"Linoone, Play Rough!"
Fortunately, Linoone had a Fairy-type move that was super effective against Dark-type Pokémon.
Linoone had been prepared since Greninja's appearance. Upon hearing Yuga's command, it transformed into a streak of light and charged toward Greninja.
The powerful clash between Greninja's Dark Pulse and Linoone's Play Rough created gusts of air that shattered the already rotted wooden planks.
Following this, Linoone used Crunch in succession with Greninja's Dark Pulse, the two Pokémon clashing fiercely, neither giving an inch.
The intense confrontation between the two Pokémon resulted in hole after hole appearing in the wooden planks. Yuga was beginning to struggle to keep up with the pace of their battle.
Linoone's headbutt struck Greninja's abdomen, but Greninja slapped its hands on the ground and raised a plank to block the attack.
As the plank fell, Greninja used its feet to execute U-turn, kicking Linoone away.
Linoone crashed into the wooden plank, sending up a cloud of dust that made the musty smell in the air even stronger.
After getting up from the ground, Linoone started emitting a golden light and quickly charged towards Greninja.
This was a Normal-type ultimate move: Take Down.
Yuga hadn't expected that Linoone would grasp a new skill through its intense clash with Greninja—a move called Take Down.
The golden streak formed by Linoone's charge knocked the unprepared Greninja to the ground, but Linoone suffered from the recoil damage of the skill, showing signs of pain.
Greninja was a fast and powerful attacker with low defenses and stamina. Being struck by the Take Down, it was clearly injured.
However, Linoone was not faring well either. The damage from U-turn combined with the recoil damage from Take Down left it battered and bruised.
The two Pokémon stood panting, facing off against each other.
Watching their battle, Yuga realized that his path as a Trainer was indeed long. At this point, he couldn't provide any meaningful assistance to Linoone in battle, and his battle awareness couldn't keep up with theirs.
Evidently, Greninja was a seasoned fighter, its experience exceeding Yuga's skill as a Trainer.
Just then, Greninja initiated an attack, raising its hands to form a dark energy sphere that quickly transformed into a circular column of energy, shooting towards Linoone.
Linoone pushed off with its hind legs, leaping to evade the attack of Dark Aura. Then, it quickly hurled a Shadow Ball toward Greninja.
Unfortunately, the Shadow Ball missed its target as Greninja evaded it skillfully.
Descending from the air, Linoone once again used Play Rough as it charged towards Greninja. Greninja didn't retreat either; it employed U-turn once more to meet Linoone head-on.
Just as Greninja's foot was about to make contact with Linoone during the use of its U-turn skill, Linoone mysteriously adjusted its posture, evading Greninja's foot and crashing into its left shoulder.
In the instant that Greninja was sent flying, it raised its right hand and delivered a critical Dark Pulse strike to Linoone.
Under the impact of this Dark Pulse attack, Linoone lost its ability to battle.
"Linoone!" Seeing Linoone fall, Yuga hurriedly rushed over, lifting it up with concern.
"Greninja!"
At the same time, Greninja let out a cry of pain. It struggled to get up but couldn't stand due to its severe injuries. Although it didn't lose consciousness, its injuries were so severe that it couldn't stand up and could only lie still on the ground.
"Chimecho, use Heal Pulse on Linoone." At this moment, Yuga realized the convenience of having a healer by his side.
Under the effect of Heal Pulse, Linoone quickly regained consciousness.
"Linoone."
Just awakened, Linoone was still weak. It let out a feeble cry towards Yuga.
Yuga took out an Oran berries and fed it to Linoone, smiling and saying, "You're okay now. You've defeated Greninja."
Linoone turned its head to look at the fallen Greninja and saw that it was indeed not moving. Satisfied, Linoone closed its eyes once again.
Seeing that Linoone was truly exhausted, Yuga lifted it up. Linoone's exhaustion wasn't just physical; the intense battle had drained its mental energy as well.
However, after Yuga picked up Linoone, he realized that Linoone was surprisingly heavy for its small size. He then said to Chimecho, "Chimecho, use your Psychic to support Linoone."
Chimecho, despite her laziness, was convinced by Yuga and gently levitated the sleeping Linoone with her Psychic.
Seeing that Linoone was fine, Yuga walked over to Greninja and said, "Both you and Linoone are injured. If you don't resist, I'll capture you."
Greninja glanced at Yuga, then at Linoone being supported by Chimecho, but remained silent.
"If you don't speak, I'll take it as your agreement!" Yuga took out a Poké Ball and announced. Seeing no response, he threw the ball directly.
The capturing process went smoothly. Greninja didn't resist, and the light on the Poké Ball dimmed, indicating a successful capture.
After capturing Greninja, Yuga released it and let Chimecho heal its injuries. He also fed it an Oran berries before recalling it back into the Poké Ball.
With no more obstacles, Yuga finally managed to select the high-potential Pokémon from the eggs. Unfortunately, he still hadn't found any with blue potential.
However, capturing the incredibly strong Greninja was a surprising bonus.
At this moment, Yuga had to thank Robert for suggesting they split up. Otherwise, he would have had to figure out how to carry away the eggs. After all, he couldn't store them in Poké Balls like regular Pokémon, and he couldn't use the system backpack in front of Robert.
After securing the eggs, Yuga, along with Chimecho, Vivillon, and the sleeping Linoone, began to head back.
