Chapter 99: Windy
Chapter 99: Windy
Checking through the courses it had bought, Yuga found that they weren't just related to Pokémon; many of them were about various aspects of human life.
Thankfully, Audino had opted for video courses. If it had bought text-based materials, Yuga wondered how it would understand them.
But that wasn't all. It also learned how to cook online. These days, it would drag Yuga to the market to buy ingredients and then cook for him when they returned. Since Yuga was used to cooking for himself, he was already familiar with the vendors at the market. The uncles and aunties selling vegetables there recognized him, and they gradually got to know Audino, who appeared with him.
As a result, the neighbors came to know about Audino's exceptional domestic skills. In fact, Audino became even friendlier with the local residents than Yuga himself. When Yuga and Audino walked on the street together, everyone would first greet Audino, and then Yuga. Sometimes, they even seemed to forget Yuga altogether.
Surprisingly, Audino's cooking was actually quite good. Although it couldn't be considered a top chef, it made everyday dishes very flavorful. Even Suzuki Koen, who had lunch here every day, praised it, especially Dian, who loved Audino's cooking.
In the training of the past few days, the Gligar leader had also performed quite well. To reward it, Yuga finally took out the Razor Fang and, in the evening, handed it over to the Gligar leader. This allowed it to successfully evolve into Gliscor.
Perhaps because Yuga had fulfilled both promises, the Gligar leader had become much more sincere in its dealings with him. It was no longer as deceitful as before.
One day, while taking Floette and the others to the Pokémon Center for a check-up, Yuga returned to find Suzuki Koen waiting at the shop's entrance.
Seeing Yuga return, Suzuki Koen immediately approached and said, "Boss, you're back. The person you mentioned has come."
Yuga was momentarily puzzled and casually asked, "What person?"
Suzuki Koen quickly explained, "It's the person you hired to maintain the website. They've been here for a while, waiting for you to come back. They're still inside."
Slapping his forehead, Yuga realized what had happened. He had indeed told Brother Seal that he would arrive in two days, but those two days had passed, and he had forgotten about it in the meantime.
"Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go in quickly."
Yuga entered the shop and immediately saw the young person seated inside. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to call them young; they seemed several years younger than Yuga in terms of appearance.
Approaching cautiously, Yuga asked, "Are you Brother Seal?"
The young person in front of him was quite petite, with a baby face and big, shining eyes. They had light green hair that looked extremely soft and cute. They were nothing like the Brother Seal that Yuga had imagined.
"Yes, that's me. My real name is Windy. You must be the store manager."
Yuga had always assumed that Brother Seal would be a man in his thirties at least, or at the very least a capable young man in his twenties. He never expected it to be such an adorable young person.
Yuga pointed towards the direction of the dining area and said to Windy, "Let's discuss inside, it's not convenient here."
Yuga's house wasn't large. Apart from the storefront on the ground floor, there were only three other areas: the kitchen, the dining area, and a bathroom. Suzuki Koen had even come here for their job interview in the dining area.
Once in the dining area, Yuga gestured for Windy to take a seat and asked, "You seem quite young, is it really suitable for you to work outside?"
Hearing Yuga's words, Windy's face flushed red immediately. They stammered, "I'm 22 years old this year, so I'm not that young."
Windy's response left Yuga a bit awkward too. He had never expected someone who looked younger than him to already be 22 years old.
Speaking of appearances, Windy did indeed seem quite youthful, but their voice was much deeper than one would expect from their appearance. It wasn't the typical high-pitched voice associated with youths.
Feeling slightly embarrassed that he had mistaken a young adult for an underage person, Yuga cleared his throat and said, "Since your age isn't a problem, then it's settled. Let's discuss your compensation."
Before Yuga could continue, Windy asked, "Can I ask you a question?"
Yuga nodded and said, "Go ahead."
Expressionless, Windy stated, "I checked out your Day Care before you came back. It's a small Day Care and business doesn't seem to be great. Do you really need a website? Are you sure you want to hire me?"
It wasn't surprising that Windy would ask such a question. Most people would likely think the same after seeing Yuga's Day Care.
Yuga chuckled as he replied, "What you've seen might be a bit different from what it seems. You'll understand this later. Also, since I informed you to come, it naturally means I intend to hire you. I don't have a habit of toying with people."
After hearing Yuga's response, Windy nodded and said, "That's fine then. However, let's not discuss compensation for now. Why don't we take a look at the website modifications I've made for you first?"
With that, Windy took out a laptop from the backpack they had been carrying and opened it up. After a few clicks, they pushed the laptop towards Yuga and said, "This is the website I've modified for you. Take a look and see if there's anything inappropriate."
The overall design of the modified website was dominated by shades of green. At the top of the page was an illustration of a flower bed, with cute Flabébé happily dancing among the flowers.
This design was what Yuga had requested. Since his starter Pokémon was a Flabébé, he had come up with this idea.
Beneath the flower bed, the website displayed the YoYo Day Care's address in bold red font, along with the owner's name.
In the middle were three yellow blank squares, intended to showcase pictures and information about the Pokémon available for sale each month.
The lower right corner held the appointment window. Whether customers were buying the Pokémon available that month or utilizing installment payment services, they could make appointments through this window.
On the left side, there was a section for customer comments and messages, providing an avenue for feedback.
The website looked clean and elegant as a whole, fulfilling all of Yuga's requests. He was very satisfied with the design.
