Chapter 78: [Royal Guards!]
He wasn't the only one as there were a dozen more people working on the same machine, as they tried to handle the situation from running out of control.
"How long till we can manage the situation?" The captain of those soldiers asked as he tried to analyze the situation. He had golden hair with blue eyes, the type of people you would find in fantasy novels as protagonists.
"About an hour at worst. We can stretch it to 3 hours if we force the prisoners," the soldier answered before waiting for the captain to speak. While the captain kept pondering for a few seconds as he thought of the next move he should take in this situation.
'It must have been those otherworlders. To think the people we call for sacrifices would be this crazy. Did we call someone too strong?' He thought as his expression changed into a worried one. Though as crazy as the situation might be, he cannot give up on the project they were working on.
"I will send the 7 Royal Guards. See if you can open a portal in the location that I am marking," the captain spoke, finally coming to a decision as he looked at the soldiers. Though they were a bit shocked to hear that, they did not complain even one bit.
A message was sent to 7 Royal Guards who were trained for emergency purposes. They were created by supplying them with powers from over a 1000 people each. Even though they were made for purposes especially like this, it was the first time they were being called for it. Previously they were only used in situations like wars and such.
"Isn't this overkill sir? Those guards can take over B-Grade monsters on their own. Even one of them would be enough to end this situation. Sending 10 of them, and that too at a place where they could never die. I apologize for being so blunt but I feel like 7 of them were unnecessary," one of the leading soldiers spoke, while the captain turned silent.
He then turned to that soldier as he asked," what do we know about those otherworlders in that kingdom?"
"Uh… sir. That they are barely D-Grade with only a bunch of them reaching C-grade,"that soldier answered a bit confused to which the captain asked again," and do you believe that a bunch of D-Grade kids can take over a castle with never dying soldiers. Did you forget that there are already 4 C-Grade beings there along with a B-Grade monster that we kept stationed to monitor for emergencies."
It was impossible for the players to defeat them even once, let alone killing so many of them so many times.
"Sir you don't mean…" that soldier's eye widened before the captain answered," there is an unknown variable. And we have no idea how strong it is. But taking the worst situation in consideration that the variable was able to turn the entire situation upside down… it must at least be A-Grade."
'Hopefully, 7 never dying B-Grade soldiers would be enough to handle the situation. Or else… we might even end up needing to start a war. We cannot afford to lose that kingdom by any means,' the captain thought as he looked at the depleting energy source that was reviving the soldiers in the castle.
…
[Levi's POV!]
'Bad news! Bad news! Bad News!' I looked at the incoming energy source as they were directed to the main hall. A portal was about to open in the castle, and to my guess, it was the enemy sending more reinforcements.
'What should I do?!' Alarmed, I tried to find any solution possible to this situation. Canceling the portal activation is not possible since the process has already begun. The least I can do is redirect its course.
"Should I send it to Adrian?" I mumbled under a low breath since he would know the best way to handle the situation. But then on a second thought, I recalled how Adrian told me that he could see everything that was going on in the castle with his [Gift!]. So it doesn't matter where I send them, he should be able to assess the situation.
Then the next best place to send them was…
'Sorry Invar. I will treat you to some dessert next time we meet,' I apologized to him, before redirecting the opening of the portal to the underground, a few meters away from Invar. Depending upon the enemy, it could get a bit difficult, but I doubt it should be impossible for him.
He is not as strong as Rebas, but that doesn't mean he is weak.
…
[Invar's POV!]
I killed those bastards for the 50th time before looking at the children who had more or less escaped the area. I was able to talk to one of them while fighting while I asked them to move in a group and find other players.
Though it won't help them completely in this situation, at least this should give me enough freedom to unleash more of my destructive moves. This entire place disgusts me, I am going to obliterate it completely.
-Zing!
Though before I could proceed with my actions, I felt a sudden energy behind my back. Turning around, I saw a strange circle floating in the air before it started growing in size. I saw it slowly becoming big enough for a bunch of humans to pass through.
It was golden in color with the edges being reddish brown. And from the energy it was emitting, it seemed to be connected to another place or something.
"A Portal? We are saved from this madness!"
"You bastard! Now it's our turn to show you what it means to mess with us!"
"Your time has come you old fucker!"
Those filthy men were strangely energized as soon as the portal formed. Did they gain hope of some form?
-Thud! Thud! Thud!
The sounds of heavy footsteps resounded as a group of soldiers wearing golden armor appeared through that portal. Their eyes were shining golden, while a red coloured marking was etched all over their golden armor.
"The Royal Guards! It's the Royal Guards!" One of the men shouted with excitement, while others were flabbergasted. They couldn't believe their eyes.
"I can't believe I am looking at one! Oh! What a beautiful day to be alive!" Another one spoke as if he was witnessing an angel descend from heaven. The previous terror and horror they had on their face was gone, as they looked at those soldiers.
'They are strong. It's going to be tough,' I spoke as I then placed my hand on the third sword that I haven't unsheated yet. It was the one that Adrian had brought for me, but given how strong it was, I haven't used it even once.
Though I sighed as I then removed my hand from it before looking at those men.
'Perhaps I should test my other abilities first,' I thought as I then used my skill for the first time in a while.
[Skill: Weapon Maker's Knowledge: Limit Break!]
And then I pointed my two swords at those 7 Royal Guards who were looking at me with pure hostility.
"Come," I spoke as I took my fighting stance at them.
…
[Adrian's POV!]
"The Game Master?" The dead ghost of the saintesses asked as they looked intrigued. While I pondered before answering their question,
"I don't know much about the entire thing. But from what I have heard, they are beings with omnipotent powers and such. Anyways, I will first open the chains so that you guys can follow me. Will that be all right?"
As I was opening the prison gate, I saw the white ghost of the three saintesses appearing in the prison.
"G-G-G-GHOST!!!" That Prince, Lincoln, shouted in fear as he looked at those ghosts. Wasn't he the vampire prince? Dude. You for real?
Those saintesses looked at the Prince for a few seconds before turning back to me as they spoke,"all right. We will help you out. But in return please listen to our request."
I opened the gate before looking at them as I nodded.
"Our children and family have been captured and are held hostages within the castle. We do not know where they are, but we would be really thankful to you if you can find them," they spoke as I observed their faces for a few seconds before pondering and answering them,
"All right. I will do what I can."
I could find them using the [Map!], but it's going to take some time to find them.
I turned around as I then began walking back towards the surface. The Saintesses and the Prince kept staring at each other while they all followed behind me. As we walked there, they also asked a bunch of questions about who I was and what I was doing here, to which I merely spoke that I am an otherworlder and I am merely following my [Contract] orders.
And as we were about to reach the surface, I then turned in the left path just before the door to the surface. Walking a few more steps, reaching the 4th prison to be precise, I looked at the guy inside the prison. Since we were dealing with two hidden quests already, what's more, starting another one.
[Quest 4: Redemption of the Cruel King!

Unfortunately, he has now become a vampiric slave working under the city.

I then reached a certain prison where a boney old man was chained to the wall.
Even though he was pretty much malnourished, his white skin was still giving of a royal aura. Added with the golden hair he had, it wasn't hard to guess he was one of the royalties here.
"What's he doing here?!" The prince was enraged. And even the saintess were shocked to see this sight in front of them.
And hearing our voice, that man's blue dull eyes slowly looked at me, before I asked,
"Are you the former King of those Humans?"
