Chapter 184.12: First Segment. (Part-12)
But that didn't matter when facing an opponent like Brandon. Hardly a second passed, and the combatant from the Owlite Team was charred to the point even a slight movement of his body brought him loads of pain.
Brandon walked up to the combatant from the Owlite team, who barely held himself from losing consciousness and pointed his palm down towards his fallen opponent as an orb of Lightning manifested over it.
"You could either give up or taste this. The choice is yours."
Brandon's opponent hesitated but eventually chose to give up, and the Earth team won the Match against the Owlite team.
Most of the spectators believed Olivia to be the biggest obstacle among the Earth team, but their view took a steep turn by the end of the Match.
Such was the performance of the combatants from the Earth team. Although Kensei lost in the 1st Bout, he left a lasting impression on every Alpha Chosen in the Colosseum.
Soon, Felarial announced the teams from Group-D, who would have to face each other in the 4th Match.
<Tilephe> (Rank-4) vs
(Rank-5)
For the 1st Bout, the strongest of each team stepped onto the Stage. From the Tilephe Team, it was Tyuk, ranked 16th in the <Trial World Leaderboard>; meanwhile, his opponent was the strongest of the Horned beetles, Pompa.
Many believed the Tilephe Team would win since they had four of its members at Tier-3, with two of them at Low-Phase and the other two at Mid-Phase.
Although Tyuk was at Tier-3 Mid-Phase, his combat power rivals someone at a phase higher than his own.
As for the Polyphaga team, they only had a single member at Tier-3. Unlike Tyuk, Pompa wasn't among the top Alpha Rankers.
He was ranked at the bottom quarter, ranking 760th in the <Trial World Leaderboard>.
Still, Tyuk didn't look down on his Tier-3 Low-Phase opponent since Pompa's performance in the previous two rounds showcased his staggering combat capability to defeat monsters two phases above his own.
If not for the fact that he was a phase higher than Pompa, Tyuk wouldn't have had confidence in defeating his opponent.
Soon, Felarial commenced the 4th Match, and Tyuk was the first to dash towards his opponent with a five-meter-long dark metallic whip in each hand.
The numerous spikes protruding over the pair of dark metallic whips gave them a menacing look, but Pompa wasn't intimidated by them.
Equipped with a pair of knuckle braces, he too began advancing towards Tyuk. As Pompa activated his 1st Innate Exclusive Skill, his shiny black exoskeleton exuded a poppy-red glow from within.
<VIGOUR> (Grade-8) (Variant Category)
- Improve base Health regeneration speed by 40 times and grants' Vigour Framework' to the host.
Innate Exclussive Skills: <SELF-IMMOLATION>, <REJUVENATE>, <REVIVE>.
<SELF-IMMOLATION>: Burns away Health to proportionately boost the Strength and Endurance of the User. The percentage of Health burned is proportional to the increment in the User's base Strength and Endurance attributes for a maximum of 100%.
Duration: 40 minutes.
Cooldown: 120 minutes.
______________
Pompa's Innate Talent provided him with 40 times the base Health Regeneration speed, allowing him to regenerate 400 Health per minute. In contrast, anyone with a similar level would have just 10 Health per minute.
Using his 1st Innate Exclusive Skill, <SELF-IMMOLATION>, Pompa burned half his Health in one go, which in turn raised his base Strength and Endurance attributes by 50%.
Including the bonus stats provided by his Knucke Braces Spirit Weapon, Pompa was comparable to a Tier-3 High-Phase lifeform in terms of Strength and Endurance.
That wasn't even the strongest he could reach since he could raise those two Attributes up to 100%, which would even exceed a Peak Tier-3 lifeform, almost nearing someone who just entered Tier-4 Low-Phase.
Pompa only burned 50% of his Health since he needed the rest to fight against Tyuk. He could have directly pushed it to 80% or even 90% but doing so would bring his Health to a critically low amount, and if Tyuk could then land one or two clean hits, the game would be over.
Keeping that in mind, Pompa started at 50% with the goal of prolonging the Bout so that the Health recovered from his abnormal Health regeneration could then be eventually burned to raise his base Strength and Endurance attributes by 100%.
The abrupt stat increment in those attributes didn't cause much harm for Pompa since his Innate Talent granted him 'Vigour Framework'.
Only the Innate Talents that grant their hosts a massive rise in Attribute stats would have a Framework. It was mostly seen among Variant Category Innate Talents that revolve around the five main Attributes.
The 'Vigour Framework' was a Dual Framework since it allowed Pompa to adapt to the sizeable rise in two Attributes with minimal adverse effects.
As a matter of fact, Jay could be considered to have the rarest Penta Framework even when he didn't have one.
After all, activating <INVERSE> allowed all five main Attributes to rise and with the effect of the skill <Harmony>, Jay could adapt to the improved Attribute stats even better than any other with a Framework.
Before long, Tyuk and Pompa clashed head-on, and the former used Stage-3 Whip Aura to extend the reach of his metallic whips and the attack range, but its effectiveness was diminished against the heavy defence of the former's sturdy exoskeleton, which was fortified even further with the improved Endurance Attribute.
Against such a defence, Tyuk barely managed to harm his opponent even after several exchanges.
Moreover, as time passed, Pompa kept on burning the regenerated Health to further improve his Strength and Endurance.
From there, it didn't take long before Pompa snatched the upper hand with his high offensive power.
The audience didn't find it hard to believe since they had seen Dante, a Tier-2 individual, defeat Seath.
As the Bout progressed, it became evident to everyone who the winner would be, and many speculated Tyuk must have ranked at the top due to his high level since his performance didn't live up to someone who ranked 16th in the <Trial World Leaderboard>.
