Chapter 41 - Dante’s Fate [(Part-4) Out Of 4]
Cost: The number of Fate Stats required depends on Target's Tier and Level.
With renewed hope, I instantly activated it with a mental command. Another notification appeared indicating the reduction of my Fate Stats.
[10 Fate Stats expended]
Then I could see the change in the Fate Sequence of the Tier-2 monster in front of me, and a slight smile formed on my face.
Upon looking at my smile, the Tier-2 monster's face turned even ugly as its prey was smiling in front of it.
By then, the fire was condensed into the size of a basketball on the staff's tip.
When it was about to shoot the condensed fireball at me, a gust of strong winds passed by and an already half-broken tree branch on the tree in front of me broke.
It then fell on the hand of the Tier-2 monster, and the trajectory of the condensed fireball attack changed as it passed to my side and flew several meters before landing on the meadow field with a big explosion.
In the next second, enraged sounds echoed from the spot where the explosion took place, and all the green-skinned monsters were alerted by that.
Many lizard-like monsters appeared from the explosion charred spot and started to attack the group of green-skinned monsters.
It turned into an all-out battle between two monster species. With all of my strength, I slid my body with the help of hand and leaned by the tree that was just beside me.
Since I couldn't do anything with my severely damaged body, I waited for Fate to take care of me as I spectated the ongoing clash and used the <Inspect> skill on every single monster.
With that, my <Inspect> skill even increased from Lv.7 to Lv.10.
I learned that the Tier-1 green-skinned monsters were Goblins and the Tier-2 ones were Hobgoblins.
Similarly, the Tier-1 Lizard like monsters was Lesser Lizardnoids, and the Tier-2 ones were Fiendish Lizardnoids.
There were 19 of the Goblin Species and among them, three were Tier-2 monsters. Whereas there were only 12 of the Lizardnoid Species and among them, two were Tier-2 monsters.
But the Lizardnoids were not at all at a disadvantage as the Lake water complimented their Water abilities.
The battle continued, and there was a loss of two Tier-1 monsters of Lizardnoid Species and four Tier-1 monsters of Goblin Species.
At the rate at which the battle continued, the winning side would only have a pyrrhic victory. If the winning side was the Goblin species, I would surely die.
Instead, if the Lizardnoid Species wins, there is a chance that I won't die considering that they didn't find me.
Even if they don't bother to kill me, I would still die if even a low levelled Tier-1 monster comes across me.
But again, even if Fate favours me and no monster finds me, I would still die from the fatal injuries before I get teleported to Earth.
Every possibility that I think always ended with me dying miserably.
As I was in a dilemma, a two stacked Fate Halo entered my 1000 meter perception range since I forgot to turn off my <Fate Sequence Perception>.
My expression brightened as I could recognise the two stacked Fate Halo's owner since I could sense the familiarity with the one that I already perceived on Day-1.
It was none other than Jay, the third Alpha Chosen that entered Tier-2 within the entire 11 million Alpha Chosen.
I suddenly felt that 10 Fate Points were well spent as they even brought him into my Fate. I just wondered how he would handle the situation.
The pain coursed through my body didn't hinder my eagerness to know how Jay went from Lv.4 to Lv.11 in less than 20 minutes.
A minute passed by, and when I thought that he was waiting for the right moment by letting both species fight it out, he suddenly started approaching the battle.
What dumbfounded was that he ran on the water as if it was ground.
It might not be a monumental accomplishment in this magical world, but it was a romance to almost every human on earth to run on water.
It didn't take long before he got as close as 100 meters from the Lake bank and the monsters abruptly halted fighting against each other and together started using long-range attacks at Jay.
That got me worried, but in the next second, all of those attacks were dodged as he leapt towards the lake bank causing the water in the lake to form a mini-wave.
He was already 15 meters high in the air and started falling towards the ground rapidly.
But when he was just 5 meters away from falling to the ground, a burst of hot steam appeared with Jay as the centre and covered all those monsters.
Then, a loud crash resounded off the ground. Within that steam, I could see silver-coloured bolts of lightning and instead of a two stacked Fate Halo, I sensed a three stacked one over Jay's head.
That was also when I saw something unbelievable as the silver bolts of energy disintegrated the three stacked Fate Halo above Jay's head. As I kept on perceiving the process, I felt a surge of sharp pain within my mind.
Then, I gained something called <Mental Pain Resistance>, and it levelled up several times before the mental pain vanished.
Following that, I could not perceive his Fate Halo anymore, and it was the same with his Fate Sequence. There was nothing.
The only case of Fate Halo disappearing that I noticed was when a life form dies, and never did I receive any pain when that happened.
Then my hopes reached their peak, not because of his Fate halo's disappearance but due to the Fate Halos of every single monster turned into violet colour indicating that they were gonna die in the next 10 seconds.
Following that, the steam cloud was cut in half as a horizontal streak of cyan colour flashed and 6 Violet Fate Halos disappeared at once.
In the next three seconds, the cloud of steam dispersed into the atmosphere. Within it stood a man with silver hair and eyes, and they were covered in bolts of silver-coloured energy.
He was 6 and a half feet tall with bulky muscles that filled with explosive power. Surrounding him were more than two-thirds of the monster's carcasses, and they were sliced into two identical parts.
The only ones that remained were the 5 Tier-2 monsters. All of them attacked together, and my eyes couldn't keep up with their movement speed.
But I could tell that they couldn't get the upper hand even when all the 5 Tier-2 monsters joined hands.
With heavy attacks, Jay sent all of them flying and instead of concentrating on the fight, he quickly glanced at the dead monsters.
Then, something strange happened as he grew even taller and muscular proportional to his height. The Silver bolts of energy over him also intensified.
The oppressive aura emanating from him increased by another level, and the other Tier-2 monsters' movements slowed down.
From then, every time he moved, all I could see were his afterimages.
In the next instant, he was already beside the Lv.15 Hobgoblin Swordsmen, and it was sliced apart along with the sword that it tried to defend with.
The Lv.18 Fiendish Lizardnoid Spearmen and Lv.14 Variant Hobgoblin Archer had their heads missing in the next second.
Then, both the Lv.23 Fiendish Aquarine Lizardnoid and Lv.24 Hobgoblin Shaman seemed to realise that they couldn't live if they tried to fight.
So, they started to escape in different directions. The Lv.23 Fiendish Aquarine Lizardnoid fled towards the lake but it died even before it reached the Lake.
Whereas the bastard Hobgoblin Shaman ran towards me.
I didn't know if it was trying to escape or aiming to kill me before it dies.
When it was 40 meters from me, I could clearly look at its delirious expression and was sure that it has suicide tendencies and intended to take me down with it, before it dies.
I cussed at the crazy Hobgoblin with all my leftover might. But I didn't fear it since I already sensed its Fate Sequence.
When it was just 5 meters away from me, an ash-coloured long sword with a sharp wind on its blade, stabbed the Hobgoblin Shaman and impaled it to the tree trunk that I was leaning against.
All this one-sided massacre ended in just 10 seconds. With a gust of wind, Jay appeared beside me and pulled the long sword out of the tree.
By the end of the fight, he was a little taller than 7 feet with dense muscles that could just tear his track shirt anytime.
Then he looked at me with his piercing silver eyes that contained no emotions in it.
During the fight, I noticed the monster's movements slowing down from some kind of oppressive force.
Only when he was near me, can I feel his genuine power since I couldn't even move a muscle, much less talk to him.
When I was about to pass out from the Tier suppression, a chubby baby in a little Santa outfit popped out of nowhere as it floated in the air and cried out, "Master, use <Harmony> to control the Tier suppression or at this rate, he might even die."
Then, the invisible pressure on me lifted, and I felt even tired and mustered out a few words that I could before losing my consciousness, "Please, He...Help me."
Sounds around me gradually dimmed down and the last thing I heard was the voice of Chubby Santa Baby's exclamation, "Master! Quick, Quick look at his <STATUS>, This man's existence is a miracle itself, he has Fate Attribute while he was just in Tier-1!"
