Chapter 366: 366: Estelle’s Phone Call
Rong Yan finished her bath, dried her hair, and lay down on the bed.
Her cheeks were still a bit warm, and she used the back of her hand to fan herself until she felt a little better.
Just as Rong Yan was about to close her eyes and quickly fall asleep, her phone under the pillow suddenly rang.
Who could it be at this late hour?
Rong Yan reached under and fetched her phone with a sense of curiosity.
Seeing the name flashing on the screen, she quickly answered the call, “Hello, Estelle?”
“You haven’t slept yet?” Estelle’s efficient and calm voice came through, and Rong Yan could hear the hustle and bustle of traffic in her voice.
“I was just about to sleep,” she paused, then asked, “Are you still working overtime at the company?”
Estelle stood up from her office chair, casually flipped through some documents beside her, looked out at the pitch-black night, glanced at the now-empty office, and hummed in response, “I still have some matters to finish. Anyway, I’m alone if I go back, it’s more convenient to finish the work here and then leave.”
Rong Yan didn’t know her personal circumstances, so she didn’t comment, changing the subject instead, “By the way, Estelle, did you call me for something?”
“Yes!”
“What is it?”
“Didn’t you ask me to look into the whereabouts of Huang Youde’s wife?”
Rong Yan’s drowsiness vanished almost completely, she sat up in bed, “How did it go, did you find something?”
“I found out she’s going to a beauty salon for her regular skincare appointment tomorrow. If you want to meet her, that would be the best time.” Estelle flipped through the documents and continued, “I’ve booked a spot for you next to her room for tomorrow morning, so you can have a good chat with her.”
Typically, a skincare room would have two to four massage beds, and after inquiring about the other party’s room, she reserved the spot next to it for Rong Yan.
Of course, she would go too, but she’d be outside, keeping an eye out for any paparazzi following them.
“Thank you, Estelle!” Rong Yan didn’t expect her to be so efficient; she had just mentioned it and Estelle had already arranged everything.
She had really helped her out!
Hearing the lightness in her voice, Estelle, who had been feeling pressured the past two days, felt her heart lighten significantly for some reason, “I’m your agent, this is part of my job, no need to thank me.”
“Still, I want to thank you, Estelle. At least you’re helping me find solutions quickly.”
While an agent is responsible for all aspects of an artist’s career, how they take on that responsibility varies. Estelle might not have said much on the surface, but in reality, she was truly looking out for her like a big sister.
“Alright, it’s up to you tomorrow. Get some sleep early,” Estelle said, sidestepping her thanks and speaking strictly business.
Rong Yan was already accustomed to her ever-efficient demeanor towards everyone. She murmured in acknowledgment, “Estelle, you should rest early too. Don’t worry about the leaking information outside, I’ll find a way. It’s late, you should head home. Otherwise, it’s too late and it’s not safe for a girl by herself.”
“I’m a black belt in taekwondo,” Estelle said in her usual indifferent tone, as if she were talking about an everyday occurrence, “I’ve also practiced judo and Sanshou for a while.”
“…” The image of a slender woman in a professional suit, hair tied up, kicking off her high heels and sending a burly man flying with a kick, flashed in Rong Yan’s mind as she closed her mouth, “Okay, forget I said anything. Goodnight, Estelle.”
Suppressing a laugh, Estelle softly replied, “Hmm, goodnight.”
After hanging up the call, Rong Yan was still immersed in thoughts of Estelle’s alleged black belt in taekwondo, and her judo and Sanshou skills.
