Chapter 281: He is a Little Man
Rong Yan hailed a taxi on the road, got in, closed the door, and said to the driver ahead, “Go to the city center.”
“Okay.”
After the driver started the meter, the car quickly headed towards the city center. Rong Yan stopped in front of Huangji Sour and Spicy Noodles, packed three servings of the noodle soup, and then hailed another taxi to return to Dihor Garden.
Fortunately, the VIP villa area Li Shengxiao had purchased in Dihor Garden had a dedicated passage. Otherwise, with her carrying three servings of sour and spicy noodle soup, she would have likely been stopped by the security guard at the gate.
The elevator ascended to the 16th floor.
Rong Yan swiped her card to open the door.
While changing into slippers, she called out, “Duidui Baby, see what Mommy has brought back for you~”
Following a ‘tap tap tap’ of rushing footsteps, an extremely handsome little boy appeared in her line of sight, calling out in a milky voice, “Mom, you’re back.”
Having changed her slippers, Rong Yan walked up to him, squatted down and pinched his chubby little cheeks twice, saying with a big smile, “That’s right, I am back. Did you miss Mommy?”
“Yes!”
His swift and straightforward answer melted Rong Yan’s heart.
“That’s right,” Rong Yan kissed him on the face and then remembered the thing she brought back. Standing up, she took the takeaway from the entranceway, “I brought back sour and spicy noodle soup for you. Do you want to eat some?”
At the mention of sour and spicy noodle soup, the little guy’s big eyes suddenly lit up and he responded loudly, “Yes!”
As if afraid that if he was a step too late, Rong Yan would not let him eat.
Rong Yan couldn’t help but laugh and cry as she walked towards the kitchen, “You’ll still have to wait a bit. I’m going to pour it into a bowl. The soup is too hot, and it’s not healthy to eat from the plastic container.”
Even though eating sour and spicy noodles wasn’t exactly healthy to begin with, it probably wasn’t a big deal to eat them occasionally.
In the kitchen, she found three bowls and poured two servings into them first. She grabbed a pair of chopsticks for Li Duidui before coming back out, putting the bowl in front of him, “Can you eat by yourself, or do you want me to feed you?”
Li Duidui immediately embraced his bowl, stating, “No need, I can eat by myself!”
He was already a little man; why did his mom, Little Demon Rong, always like to treat him like a tiny tot! He was no longer a two or three-year-old child!
He could handle meals by himself!
To prove he didn’t need to be fed, Rong Yan watched as the little guy skillfully held his chopsticks and slowly lifted the tiny noodles into his mouth.
He ate with such relish that it made Rong Yan’s stomach growl.
She swallowed and glanced towards the study, asking the little guy who was wolfing down his food, “Duidui, has your dad come back yet?”
“Hmm.”
The little guy, busy devouring the delicious sour and spicy noodles, sparingly responded in the midst of his feast.
Rong Yan understood this to mean that Li Shengxiao was in the study.
She got up and walked to the study, raised her hand, and knocked on the door.
“Knock, knock!”
The person inside made no sound.
A puzzled look flashed across Rong Yan’s eyes.
That’s not right. Didn’t Duidui say he was back? Why was there no response? Could he be taking a bath?
She knocked twice more and called out, “Li Shengxiao, are you in there?”
This time, she heard the sound of the door lock clicking, and the door of the study swung open. The man draped in a silver-grey bathrobe stood tall and commanding before her, drops of water lingering on his neck, with clear beads rolling down his slender neck into his collarbone, meandering downwards—so bewitching it was almost too much. Rong Yan swallowed and quickly averted her gaze, “Were you taking a bath?”
“I’ve brought back some takeaway, sour and spicy noodle soup. Do you want some?”
