Chapter 211: Beating the Dog After Closing the Door (Additional update for 2000 monthly tickets)
Li Yao hung some ropes on the side of the small peak. With such a steep slope, and without ropes, players could hardly climb up.
When Li Yao had set up a fair number of rope ladders on both sides, the count was finished down there.
Li Jie said, “There are a total of one hundred and twenty-three long-range attackers capable of group attacks, and they basically have two group attack moves each. Most of them have elite group attack moves.”
“Alright, Li Jie, please divide them into two groups and climb to the summit. The isolated peak extends for about a thousand yards. The range of most area spells should be able to cover a radius of thirty to forty yards, thus a diameter-difference area from sixty to eighty yards.”
According to Li Yao’s request, the distance between two players was set according to their respective spells, aiming to achieve overlapping coverages by area spells. Coupling with the players on the opposite peak, the same area was practically covered by the firepower of four area spells.
“Did the melee fighters collect the firewood and hay on the way up?” Li Yao asked.
“Almost everyone got their share,” Li Jie replied.
“Okay, half of the melee fighters come up, ready to throw the hay and firewood at any time. The rest of the melee fighters continue to search for hay and firewood at the eastern side of the Heavenly Line.”
With Li Yao’s arrangements, the melee fighters scattered up the peak, dropping some hay and firewood along the way.
The “Heavenly Line” is actually not a small hole as it sounds like, due to the erosion of the river, the gap underneath it is quite large, at least fifty yards wide.
Li Yao, waited until the cooldown on Angel’s Wing was over, then flew into the Heavenly Line, throwing Spike Traps frantically at the ground.
His throw spots were very tricky, aiming to cover the Heavenly Line below when the traps were triggered. The damage of the Spike Traps was pretty considerable.
Then, Li Yao set up three Arrow Towers, each enchanted with Splinter Trace, in three locations within the Heavenly Line.
Splinter Trace: when enchanted onto a crossbow, it can split the fired arrows into a hundred pieces, but the damage of each split arrow only retains 10% of the normal damage, lasting for an hour.
This enchantment is a garbage among the garbage, as Hunters basically don’t need it. Rain of Arrows or Scatter Shot is far better than this, and enchantments are useless for Rain of Arrows and Scatter Shot.
But Li Yao’s three Arrow Towers were different. They could only fire one arrow at a time. With this enchantment, although damage is spread out and the single-target damage is not high, the total output was increased ten times.
Three Arrow Towers represented thirty times the damage output. Of course, this is only useful in certain situations, otherwise, it would be considered as garbage.
“Shadow Dance, come here.” Li Yao shouted in the guild channel.
“Big bro, didn’t my little brother ask for leave?” Dimmbledots complained helplessly.
“Alright then, Dottsie, I entrust you with an important task, I don’t know if you can complete it.” Li Yao said.
“Sure, I definitely can.” Dotted smiled and ran over.
“This is the Wall of Confusion. Remember my command, and use this to block the entrance to the Heavenly Line, cutting off the monsters’ retreat route, got it?” Li Yao handed half of the Wall of Mist to Dottsie.
Wall of Mist: Releases a sturdy wall of mist, setting up a barrier 50 yards long, 5 yards wide, and 40 yards high. The Wall of Mist cannot be broken and lasts for 1 hour.
“You guys get ready, I’m going to lure the monsters.”
Li Yao immediately transformed into a dragon and swooped down the peak at the Heavenly Line and flew away.
“Damn, he can change into a dragon even with wings.”
“The guild leader is a badass, damn it, I’m going to get some of these things too.”
“Yeah, definitely useful.”
Li Yao had already gone far. The best way would be having multiple Hunters luring the monsters, but Hunters at this stage were clearly not up for it, so he had to do it himself.
Luckily, he had the Fire Hawk, so Li Yao could clearly know where the wolf pack was gathering.
He encountered dozens of different Prairie Wolf packs of various sizes along the way but avoided them all.
Far north of the Heavenly Line, it was the wolf’s territory.
Thanks to the Fire Hawk, Li Yao could clearly see that other creatures were living in constant fear.
Chocobos, Night Panthers, giraffes, wild deer, kodo beasts, and even some Savannah Lions, they did not dare to provoke the wolf packs here and avoided the wolf packs’ predation everywhere. The prairie wolves had become a complete disaster.
Li Yao slowly approached a wolf tribe with at least a thousand prairie wolves. Only the wolf pups here were ordinary monsters, adult wolves were basically elites. Some leaders were Silver Elite, and all the wolf kings were bosses.
Li Yao gave himself a Speed Scroll, then took out the Flame Crossbow, cast the Strength of the Wild Bull on himself, and then pulled the trigger vigorously.
Whoosh…
A flaming Steel Arrow crossed hundreds of yards, sneaked through the gaps of several Silver Elite guards, and pierced into the wolf king who was leading the pack from an extremely tricky angle.
The wolf king let out a miserable cry and was carried away by the tremendous force.
All the wolves stared in Li Yao’s direction, followed by a howl of a thousand wolves.
Li Yao turned tail and ran. The wolf king had risen, howling angrily, and nearly a thousand Prairie wolves pursued Li Yao like crazy.
Li Yao was racing at top speed. Being chased by nearly a thousand elites he knew was certain death if he was caught.
To draw aggro, the Fire Hawk occasionally dived down to tease the Wolf King, making the Wolf King so furious that he chased relentlessly.
Originally, because of all of the extra stuff, Li Yao had added a lot of movement speed. With the addition of the Speed Scroll, he felt like he was about to fly.
He quickly approached the second wolf pack, which had two thousand or so prairie wolves, and lured them in the same way.
Then the third prairie wolf pack, he now had nearly six thousand prairie wolves chasing him.
Three wolf kings in the lead, Silver Elite wolf kings in close pursuit, followed by countless elite Prairie Wolves. The massive force was far more impressive than tens of thousands of Murlocs.
“What the hell is this? Is it a wolf riot?” Happiness is a disease blurted out a curse.
“Damn it, the guy at the front is the guild leader.”
“Damn, his speed is at least more than double of mine. Did he take some drugs?”
“Crazy, how many wolves are there? I am already shaking here.”
Li Jie shouted out loud: “Everyone get ready to cast.”
Li Yao was getting closer and faster, and in the stunned eyes of the guild members, he rushed into the Heavenly Line, closely followed by the three Wolf Kings, then the Wolf King guards, and then the prairie wolves crowded in like bees into the Heavenly Line.
Li Yao crossed the thousand-yard Heavenly Line in the blink of an eye, then suddenly turned around, stopped, and faced the Wolf King.
“Damn, the guild leader is crazy.”
“He went too far, he’s going to get killed.”
But just when they thought Li Yao was going to be ripped apart by the three wolf kings, Li Yao casually threw out a scroll.
Boom…
A wall of mist appeared between Li Yao and the wolf kings, perfectly fitting into the Heavenly Line. The three wolf kings fiercely hit the mist wall.
“What are you waiting for? The door is shut. Isn’t it time to beat the dogs?”…
