“Bring it on.” Li Yao curled his fingers.
“You’re asking for it!” Phantom Butterfly Dance fumed. Up till now, Li Yao hadn’t fired a single arrow, showing blatant disregard for her.
“Come kill me.” Li Yao continued to smile. He would stall for as long as he could, after all, it didn’t make much difference to him who he dueled against.
“Fiery Sword Dance!”
Phantom Butterfly Dance was seething with anger, her arm transformed into a specter of afterimages.
The illusory crisscrossing fiery Huge Sword web rapidly encased Li Yao.
“The scope isn’t small, but it’s too slow.”
Li Yao stared at the intricate sword web, his body subtly contorting in an irregular manner as if he was performing a peculiar dance.
To the spectators, the sword web seemed to pierce through Li Yao’s body, yet to everyone’s disappointment; Li Yao was unscathed.
“Damn you, are you even human?” Phantom Butterfly Dance was dumbstruck.
Had Li Yao dodged using a teleportation technique, she could have accepted it, but dodging through what seemed to be an impenetrable sword web was impossible. Yet, it happened in front of her eyes.
“Hurry up, you’ve been in a daze for five seconds. Have you fallen for me?” Li Yao again goaded her.
“In your dreams!”
Phantom Butterfly Dance charged once again.
However, this time, Li Yao didn’t use the Arrow Tower but switched to the Hand Cannon.
Bang…
Breaker!
Li Yao’s breaker was successful; Phantom Butterfly Dance let out a painful scream, then knelt on one knee.
Li Yao blew away the smoke coming from the Hand Cannon, touched his chin and strolled around Phantom Butterfly Dance.
“Not bad, little girl, you have a hot figure, what did you eat to grow up.”
“Son of a bitch.” Phantom Butterfly Dance teetered on the edge of fury, her anger blazing like a bonfire.
“Fire Tornado!”
The tip of her Huge Sword ignited, and Phantom Butterfly Dance started to spin rapidly, transforming into a fiery whirlwind approaching Li Yao.
“If you can break this move, I’ll find you in real life, and we can do it however you want, any kinky stuff and I’m down.”
Li Yao backflipped to distance himself and fired another arrow, but it was deflected by the Fire Tornado.
“Damn it, how can I break an invincible move?” As Li Yao used Shadow Roll to dodge the fast-approaching Fire Tornado, he said, “And furthermore, I’m a pure and decent man; I’m not interested in you.”
Argh…
Phantom Butterfly Dance was on the brink of going mad, completely helpless.
The spectators were dumbfounded. How dare he flirt with Phantom Butterfly Dance? Who does he think he is? Doesn’t he know what death is?
Phantom Butterfly Dance. Memories related to her swirled in Li Yao’s mind.
He had been playing Hunter for two years but initially sucked at archery.
Once while practicing his Bow and Arrow skills in a spot, Phantom Butterfly Dance showed up and killed him without a word.
Being relatively famous back then, Phantom Butterfly Dance was considered a pro. Not taking it lying low, Li Yao improved his skills and challenged her again, only to be beaten up.
This continued for two or three years, with Li Yao challenging Phantom Butterfly Dance every time he upgraded his skills. Eventually, their matches were evenly matched, and later on, Li Yao had a better winning record.
Constant fighting led them becoming friends. Even though they were from opposing factions, they befriended each other. Li Yao considered her one of his most genuine in-game friends.
The two never met in person, but they could talk about anything. Their relationship was so pure, without any romantic entanglement, merely a friendship.
On the one hand, he needed to stall for time. On the other hand, he wanted to catch up with an old friend. However, the old friend possibly couldn’t recognize him now and was likely in a terrible mood.
“Are you up to it? Are you dizzy? Do you need me to help you?” Li Yao added insult to injury.
“I… I’ll fight you to death.” Phantom Butterfly Dance was infuriated. All her elite skills had been used up in vain; she couldn’t even touch Li Yao while being ridiculed for so long. She was enraged.
“Hey, you seem to be enjoying yourself very much. There are many beauties around you, but you’ve never shown such enthusiasm.” Feng Yi’s voice came through.
“Ahem.” Li Yao chuckled awkwardly. “Miss, don’t mind it. I was just joking. You’re no match for me. Would you mind admitting defeat? You still have a chance to challenge other priests.”
Panting heavily, Phantom Butterfly Dance glared at Li Yao and said, “You jerk, just you wait, I’ll be back.”
Having said that, Phantom Butterfly Dance admitted defeat and was teleported out.
“Ferun, do you have the confidence?” A player turned to Ferun.
Ferun, the second on the leaderboard.
“I’m not here for humiliation; the third priest position suits me more.” Ferun shrugged and walked away.
“Even Ferun admitted that he’s no match for him. Is he really that great?”
“You can try.”
Fifteen seconds later, a Magician was transported opposite Li Yao.
“I’m going to see if you’re as good as they claim.” Son of Demon said coldly.
“I’m not only impressive because they said so.” Li Yao casually replied: “However, you won’t get to experience it.”
“I’m ranked ninth, is that not enough?” Son of Demon retorted angrily.
Li Yao didn’t respond verbally but instead held up two fingers.
The match began, and Li Yao casually launched an arrow.
A hint of disdain flashed in Son of Demon’s eyes, he performed a somersault. “I thought you’d be impressive but…”
Thud…
Just as he got back on his feet, the Arrow of Arcane had already pierced his throat.
Instant kill!
“Next.” Li Yao pointed to the surrounding stands.
Soon someone else stepped down to face him, this time, a Knight.
Still, it took only two arrows. The first arrow would force a roll and then, in the moment they stood up, an arrow pierced their throat, instantly killing them.
The second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth fights….
Finally, no one dared to step down anymore.
It was too monstrous. Was this guy even human? Regardless of the profession, it took only two arrows, no exceptions.
“Anyone else want to play?” Li Yao waited for a minute, but no one stepped down.
The crowd was speechless. How could they play with a monster like you?
While they were confident, they would appreciate it if you let them release a skill. Even the strongest profession would be useless if they couldn’t release a skill before being instantly killed. What’s the point of playing then?
Li Yao casually brought out a chair, propped up his leg, turned on the live stream, and drank red wine while watching the Carnival broadcast.
Seeing his behavior, the crowd glanced at him harshly and left one by one. With no one challenging him, there was nothing worth watching.
On the contrary, the battles for the second and third priest positions were intense.
The second priest position was occupied by Tie Niu, who was being watched by anguished Dumb Pupil.
The third priest position was claimed by Ferun. He didn’t challenge Tie Niu; he just occupied the third priest position, but his score remained second.
Although they both were dominant, the crowd could foresee a glimmer of hope. But with Li Yao, it was utter despair. As a result, Li Yao sat idle for over twenty minutes, and the second round of trial finally came to an end….
