Chapter 170: | 170 | Returning to the Port of Dawn

This was a piece of good news for the fleet admiral.

Abraham smirked and answered while staring at the lines of the boundless horizon. "It was more than satisfying, Charlotte. Vulcan was much more amazing than I had previously thought." He didn\'t hide his amazement regarding the installation.

"Have you heard about its capabilities?" He looked at Charlotte and asked, wondering if she had heard about its remarkable capacity in ship building. Charlotte leaned forward and gazed at the horizon before responding. "The intelligence officers told me about it."

"The fact that it has the ability to construct five frigates in a single month is outstanding. With Vulcan around, the only thing we have to worry is the manpower and materials for such warships." Charlotte continued and kept staring into the distance.

Seeing that the vice admiral didn\'t desire to continue their conversation, Abraham decided to stop speaking and also watched the afternoon scenery of the seas. It has been a long time since he had transmigrated into this world.

Now that he had spent more time in this strange, fantasy-like world. Perhaps... It was time for him to call it home. After all, it was the world where he had woken up and started anew. Not only as the fleet admiral of the United Navy, but also as a new person.

Though, before he could continue thinking about it, Charlotte asked him an unexpected question. "Abraham, have you ever wondered whether or not you should achieve your dream?" It was rare for her to call him by his name. Usually, she would maintain distance by calling him fleet admiral.

Nonetheless, he needed to answer this question of hers.

"It\'s not about you should whether achieve it or not. It\'s about how you achieve it." Abraham answered like the wise sage that he was. Surprisingly, this answer came up without the help of his precious partner, Systema. At any rate, he continued speaking of his thoughts about her question.

"Everyone deserves to dream, Charlotte. Every one of us have dreams we want to see come true. As long as nobody gets killed in the process of your achieving your dream. Then, move forward with it." Though, he wondered what her dream was.

Hearing the answer of Abraham, the edges of Charlotte\'s lips rose. Her grayish eyes flickered with rising determination, solidifying it into something that would never be broken. She couldn\'t help but quietly thought to herself. \'You brought this to yourself, Abraham.\'

"I see... Thank you for your thoughts, Abraham. I appreciate it." Charlotte couldn\'t stop smiling and slowly walked out of the bridge, planning to head to her quarters. Abraham gazed at her and also smiled. "Glad I could help."

The UNS Trinity of Solace continued sailing through the watery tides of the sea. The weather was clear as flocks of birds flew in a pointing formation, heading south. It was calm, a well-deserved peace for everyone onboard the modernized battleship.

Though, Abraham couldn\'t help but wonder that things were beginning to calm down in the United Navy. He had also seen the rare sides of Charlotte and Mercedes, the most aloof ladies he had seen in his life. Which... In his eyes, were worth it.

It didn\'t take long for the UNS Trinity of Solace to arrived to the Port of Dawn. The modernized battleship docked itself onto the port, and its personnel departed then from the metallic vessel of war. Abraham followed suite along with Charlotte, and the two were met with the problem dragon and his secretary.

"Abraham, how was the journey? Did something interesting happen?" Laplace asked with a teasing smile while glancing at Charlotte. The vice admiral merely squinted her eyes and didn\'t utter a single word while Abraham responded, not knowing what Laplace meant by interesting.

"Well, I guess the Construction Yard is much bigger than previously thought? Its capabilities could propel us forward, for about a few years into the future." Hearing Abraham\'s answer, Laplace\'s shoulders slouched, clearly disappointed.

"What? Is it not interesting enough?" Abraham raised his eyebrows, curious if he had disappointed the dragoness in some sort. Laplace sighed and pouted while turning her head away from him. "I want something more interesting."

"Yeah, yeah, I\'ll bring something interesting in the future." He waved his hands and walked away, planning to return to his home. The day has been tiring for him. There was a lot of responsibilities, and tomorrow would be the same.

Meanwhile, the three were left in the docks, staring at the back of the fleet admiral. They kept at it until he disappeared from their sight, to which Laplace immediately turned her gaze towards Charlotte. "Here I thought you would start chasing after him."

"Why didn\'t anything interesting happen? What happen to your confident response?" Laplace was clearly disappointed since nothing had happened between Charlotte and Abraham in their short voyage together.

"Whether I do something or not isn\'t for you to decide, Laplace. Besides, I have started chasing after him. And I\'ll take my steps as slowly and surely as possible." Charlotte answered with a confident smile, not planning to back down in front of the dragoness.

"Couldn\'t you simply force him down and consummate your love together?" Laplace tilted her head as slowly and surely wasn\'t in her vocabulary. It was better to take larger strides, conquering everything in the way.

"Why would I even do such a thing to him? And, why are you suggesting it to me?" Charlotte shook her head, appalled by the words of the problem dragon. She wondered about the mental capacity of the dragoness to suggest such an abhorrent action.

"Besides, even if I follow your suggestion. He\'s much more stronger than me, so it wouldn\'t work at all. I\'ll save myself from the embarrassment." She\'d rather avoid looking like a fool in front of Abraham. Just imagining it feeling was enough to make her stomach feel sick.

"Wait, don\'t tell me... You want to be the one being forced down?" Laplace grinned while she made a teasing gesture of a finger and a hole doing it. Charlotte\'s cheeks dyed in crimson tint, and felt somewhat shameful for even daring herself to imagine it.

"Shut up, Laplace! I don\'t need you poisoning my mine." Charlotte glared at the dragoness with her face a bit reddish from shame. "I don\'t think I need to poison your already poisonous mind." Laplace shook her head as though stating a fact.

"Should I be here?" Hearing a third voice in their chatter, Laplace and Charlotte promptly stopped as the human-form Mercedes stood beside them. In terms of beauty, she could stand in the same realm as them, signifying her as amongst the challengers.

"Is she the same?" Charlotte calmly asked the dragoness, who coolly nodded. She had forgotten that her second in command was with them. She didn\'t want to appear foolish in front of her subordinate. Though looking at Mercedes, she realized that she had the same face as before.

"It seems that even the secretary is chasing after Abraham. Are you planning to create an army, Laplace?" She questioned since their numbers were increasing by the moment. She could already feel how troublesome they would become to Abraham.

"Well, it\'s not I\'m simply making anyone interested of Abraham, a challenger." Laplace calmly smiled while the breeze of wind ruffled her silver hair. "The reason why I accepted the two of you is simple."

"It\'s simply because other than Abraham, the two of you are my most trusted individuals." The dragoness wasn\'t lying, there was no need for her to lie about the truth. She trusted them more than anyone else, except for Abraham, of course.

Charlotte lightly chuckled and remarked. "I would have thought of you as an imposter if I was ignorant of your power. I didn\'t think you would be capable of uttering such words." In her mind, Laplace was a problem dragon. A troublesome person, though someone she also considered important.

"Heh... I\'m more than capable of saying many words. Do you want to hear what I say to Abraham? Ah-" Before Laplace could moan even further, Charlotte grinded her forehead and apologized to the secretary. "Sorry about the problem dragon, Mercedes."

"I am already used to it, Vice Admiral." Mercedes replied since the shenanigans of her superior was something she also needed to deal with. "There\'s no need to be formal, call me by my name." Charlotte didn\'t feel the need for the three of them to be formal with each other.

"I-I guess so, Cha-Charlotte." Mercedes turned her head away with a crimson tint on her cheeks. Laplace smirked at seeing such a scene, while Charlotte merely smiled.

Charlotte looked at two of them and invited them to go out with her. "Why don\'t we eat in a restaurant? A girls night out. I\'ll be the one paying." At first, Laplace wasn\'t interested. But hearing Charlotte paying for it, she immediately raised her hand, wanting to join.

Mercedes also nodded, curious about what a girls night out meant.

With that, the three ate together in a restaurant somewhere in the Port of Dawn.
