The soul beast flew increasingly high, circling at a height over 2,000 miles above the Tribunal army.

Jalin thought about Saleen’s threat and said, “I’d have just run away if I knew this would happen.”

“Arbola had you stuck with me. Would you really run away?” Saleen retorted.

He wanted to kill Jalin badly, but he would have had nothing to gain from killing her. Furthermore, Saleen wanted to know what was in the cemetery, but he had no intention of going inside to look around himself. Jalin was the only one who had entered, and her information was very valuable.

Jalin was rendered speechless by Saleen’s retort. Her teacher stuck her to Saleen’s side, so she definitely had a purpose to serve. While her teacher was rather lenient with what she did with him, it would have been problematic if she were to run away and Saleen chased after her. It would have been very awkward.

She could leave for a while, but not in a way in which she had Saleen at her tail. If he were to chase after him, there would have been hardly any reason for her to return to Saleen’s side. That would mean the mission given to her by her teacher would be completely compromised.

“Put down what you have willingly, or we strip you down. Otherwise, run away right now. The choice is yours.” Sika held on to her staff. Her eyes were completely hostile as she looked at Jalin’s charming face.

Jalin’s emotions seemed rather unstable with her mask torn. “Do your worst, Saleen. I’m not signing any contracts with you.”

“Alright, Nailisi, she’s all yours,” Sika said.

Nailisi laughed maniacally and grabbed Jalin. She flew on top of the soul beast. Her huge body bent over. With all three of her heads speaking to Jalin at the same time, she said, “Don’t try to resist. Do so, and I’ll kill you.”

“Stop! Saleen, we can discuss this...” Jalin’s voice trailed off.

Pfftt...

Nailisi’s huge hand took hold of Jalin’s body. She turned into a whiff of smoke appearing beside them.

“What’s more to discuss? Sign the contract and I’ll forgive what you did,” Saleen said. “Refuse to do so, and we’ll be mortal enemies. I’ll let you off alive once at most for Arbola’s sake. I won’t go easy on you if I were to see you again.”

“Master said that he would let you go alive, but I can’t guarantee I’m going to do the same.” Nailisi said as her four arms closed in at the center, making an attack gesture.

While they were over 2,000 miles in the air, it was still a difficult place to cast spells. Sika had broken Jalin’s magic staff. While she had barely been able to escape the first attack, there was no way to escape the second one.

“Alright, Saleen, I agree,” Jalin said.

Nailisi took hold of Jalin’s waist and squeezed hard. Saleen said, “Don’t kill her yet!”

Saleen knew Nailisi’s temperament too well. She would ruin things before thinking about the consequences of doing so. If she wanted to kill someone, Saleen had to warn her beforehand.

If he was only half a second slower, he would have only been able to retrieve a bisected Jalin. If he wanted anything useful by then, the only way to do it was to extract the memory fragments from her soul.

If he were to let Jalin die in pieces and have her soul extracted for torture, Arbola would have flown into a rage. There was no need to offend a level 10 professional at that juncture.

Saleen was afraid of what Nailisi would have done, and Jalin was even more so. She was able to smell death as Nailisi’s sharp fingernails punctured her magic robe and scraped against her skin. Death was within an inch of her life.

Jalin believed that if she were to be tortured to death, her teacher would avenge her. The question was, however, was it worth it to argue with a demon?

If Jalin remained adamant, Nailisi would have crushed her to death. With that, all the great ideals she had would have been no more.

There were plenty of cases where geniuses died young, including death caused by people of low status. Jalin was thoroughly frightened. She lost all courage to fight Saleen any further.

Saleen was still watching the battles taking place beneath. He found troops swinging weapons at the passage to the cemetery on the ground, intending to dig it open, which was followed by a punisher ramming at the passage and dropping dead right away.

The power within the dirt seal had absolute killing power over gods and their adherents. The head of that punisher had massive stores of power of faith. The ram had rendered the punisher completely dead, so much so that it did not even twitch.

However, a large hole was torn at the dirt seal. The fossilized gods within rushed out of the exit. They swung their weapons without hesitation as soon as they caught sight of the Holy See troops.

Things were hardly peaceful between humans. It was even less so with the gods. The fossilized gods and Lord of Glory were of entirely different races. Furthermore, the Lord of Glory was a very xenophobic god. Intense hatred welled up deep within the souls of the fossilized gods as soon as they saw the adherents of the Lord of Glory around.

Worse still, the light that was maintaining the Divine Territory fell onto the fossilized gods, causing them great pain. If it had not been the skin of the fossilization skill having an edge by being able to suppress divinity, the fossilized gods would have been injured.

The hole was not very large, and the number of gods rushing out was few. They were quickly surrounded and taken care of by the Tribunal army. The dead fossilized gods’ souls were sucked back into the cave. It was apparent that the light of the Divine Territory was incapable of cleansing them.

The two head inquisitors went pale. The ruins are actually a turf of other gods?

They were unable to tell the details of the fossilized gods, but they were able to sense the scent of other gods. That was the scent the Lord of Glory hated most.

“There are no other gods but me,” the Lord of Glory said so himself.

While he was a level 15 god, the war between humans and the gods had rendered almost all powerful gods dead. A level 15 god was probably the most powerful one left among the gods. There were no level 16 gods found in any planes thus far.

The Lord of Glory was one example of lesser gods who scoured ruins in battlefields throughout the planes and acquired all manner of godly items left behind by the ancient, powerful gods. Because of that, he became rather powerful.

The gods warred against each other frequently without intervention from humans. The hatred between the gods never ceased. The two head inquisitors had even less reason to back away after the fossilized gods appeared.

Saleen was a defiler at most, but the ones appearing before them were subjects of heretic gods.

“Fifth, take command!” The sixth head inquisitor chose wisely and gave up command. He knew well that the death of the fourth head inquisitor would have been a bad thing for both of them.

Their combat capacity had greatly diminished, and they would take the blame. Only by killing the subjects of the heretic gods within the ruins and taking Daliang City would the mistake of the fourth head inquisitor getting killed in battle be absolved.

The fifth head inquisitor knew the reasoning behind the command as well. He came before the body of the fourth head inquisitor, took the ring from the fourth’s right hand, and put it on his own.

The sixth had no intentions of fighting for the items with him. It would suffice to have it taken back and redistributed later back in the Tribunal.

The fifth head inquisitor tore a necklace off the neck of the fourth and handed it to the sixth, saying, “These belong to both of us. We’ll settle it after we get back to the Tribunal.”

The sixth nodded in agreement. He took hold of the huge crystal ball and maintained the Divine Territory. The Tribunal troops pounced onto the fossilized gods within the passage like hungry predators, cutting them to pieces within the Divine Territory.

“Get the Blood Knights here and seal the hole. Take a few of them alive,” the fifth ordered.

The red-armored army took control of the place while the Blood Knights were assigned to the border. The punisher army’s cavalry did not enter the group of forts.

The fifth issued one order after another.

A few hundred fossilized gods were let out in a controlled manner. The Blood Knights rushed to the scene, attracting the attention of the powerful fossilized gods.

The power of the fossilized gods were greatly diminished within the Divine Territory. The levels of those fossilized gods were not high at all. The high level ones were still deep within the cemetery. Those outside the cemetery were weaker ones that had awakened earlier.

The two head inquisitors had no idea of all that. They only felt that while the enemy was strong, they were still suppressible. If they knew that there were literally millions of fossilized gods inside the cemetery, they would have probably turned around and ran.

The fossilized gods dared not dig at the exit on their own, charging outside only through the nine-foot-wide hole brought about by the punisher.

There were punishers in the Tribunal army, as well as the sixth head inquisitor, summoning the heaven angels continuously. They had little pressure dealing with the crisis before them.

Hundreds of fossilized gods were lured away from the forts by the Blood Knights. The cavalry at the border charged within and managed to capture over a dozen with iron nets reinforced by divine spells.

There were fossilized gods moving too quickly to be caught. They were killed by the cavalry in turns. The souls of the fossilized gods from the hole were sucked back to the cemetery after their bodies were cut to pieces.

The curse of the King of Glory was active within a 200-mile radius from the cemetery. There was no way the fossilized gods would have been able to break free.

While the two head inquisitors had things under control, they still felt heavy deep down seeing the soul beast circling high in the air. The fourth head inquisitor was assassinated by the people of Daliang City.

If the assassination attempt were to be carried out again, both of them would probably have had to pay a great price to avoid it. The thrust of that spear, the hit of that staff, and the mage capable of shooting electrified icicles all made them feel rather helpless.

The power of the Divine Territory would have been greater if they were elsewhere. And, they would not have had to suffer something like that. However, the ruins were below Daliang City. They were unable to pick their battlefields.

The ones who killed the fourth head inquisitor were circling in the sky. The two head inquisitors remaining grew jealous of their flight capabilities. It was not that they were totally unable to fly. It was simply too costly to do so, and they were unable to bring anyone else with them.

As such, they were unable to do anything but watch the killers sitting back and seeing everything unfolding below.

“Master, should we go for another round of killing?” Nailisi was excited to try again. She had managed to intimidate Jalin to signing a contract and felt very pleased with herself. She had completely forgotten the pain of taking the form of the skeleton king but wanted to have another go at the Holy See forces.

“Return to the city. This will all get very troublesome. Ask Jalin what happened in the cemetery and we’ll see,” Saleen said as Sika took the soul beast and flew for Daliang City.

Jalin’s face soured. The paper mask on her face was pure white without any drawings of peach blossoms. The adventure below had almost cost her life. Worse still, she had to give everything up to Saleen.

The pure white paper mask had no attributes left to speak of. Jalin was simply wearing it to conceal her face. It was the first time she had suffered such a huge loss in her life. Strangely, she hated the women beside Saleen instead of the man himself.

If it hadn’t been for those b*tches, Saleen definitely wouldn’t have been so brutal.
