Chapter 124: Black Market; Scylla
The black market wasn't truly an unfamiliar territory for Tyrion. Infact, he had been there, quite a few times.
That was because, it was where he had purchased his third-hand combat shoes and trousers.
Death Gate academy was as large as a small city, hence it was inevitable that there would be a few black markets within the place.
Most east side of the academy, Tyrion stopped before a dilapidated building with a broken gate and a collapsed wall.
His ears flickered as he focused.
Suddenly, his brows furrowed as his pupils flickered to the edge of his eyes and he oasis for a few seconds.
With a scoff, Tyrion entered the building, a few steps in, he lifted up a large debris of a broken wall revealing a flight of stairs.
Tyrion entered while closing the stairs with the broken wall.
The stairs led to a passage way with seven entrances. Tyrion chose the third entrance to the left and walked for a while before coming into contact with another stairs going upwards this time.
The moment he lifted the wall closing the stairs, a cacophony of noises blasted into his ears.
"Get your Evolution Serum for just 500 death points!"
"Purchase your genetic material for a simple 10,000 death points!"
"Gamble 500 death points to have a chance at winning a sacred Blood Demon art!"
Tyrion squinted his eyes as he exited the hole.
Numerous students who had obviously taken off their badge of identity passed by him, overlooking the fact that he had just came out of a hole as traders screamed out their trades.
Adjusting his shirt, Tyrion ignored the traders who tried to pull him and headed up a familiar route.
He turned the corners three times before arriving at a small shop.
The shop wasn't like the others as it wasn't a temporary stall like the others. Also, it had various assortment of items, from clothing to blood Demon Arts to even True Demon Arts!
Most importantly, it was cheap, at least from his memories.
When he entered, there wasn't a single customer in the shop. However, a little girl no more than 13 years old sat behind the counter, playing with a strand of her pink hair as she sucked on a lollipop while at the same time, reading some sort of novel.
Tyrion immediately knew who she was, Scylla. At least that was what she called herself and she was to his memory the owner of the shop.
Of course Tyrion didn't believe it but for a 13 year old to still remain in this shop without being robbed or preyed on. It meant there was something else going on.
The moment he entered, the young lady didn't even lift up her head from the novel and continued reading on.
"Ahem!"
Tyrion coughed and knocked at the counter. The young lady reluctantly lifted her head up from the novel and her pink eyes landed on Tyrion angrily.
She about to speak when her eyes widened. "Eh? You are actually alive?"
Tyrion was instantly aback and looked at her with confusion. However, hidden within his eyes was an intense killing intent. His hands ready to grab his blade at moment and strike with full force.
Scylla's pink eyes looked him from up to down before she shook her head. "It's no matter, you owe me 2 death points by the way."
She beckoned with her hand as her eyes lit up at the mention of money.
"H-how?" Tyrion opened his eyes wide, a bit startled. What was she on about? Was she going to attack or not?
Seeing Tyrion stunned, Scylla frowned, titling her head, she pouted. "The third hand shoes I sold to you previously cost ten death points but thinking you were surely going to die during the entrance with you low level of cell activation, I sold the shoes 8 death points and paid 2 death points from my savings. Now, I want it back."
Tyrion blinked his eyes. "But I didn't tell you to do that."
Scylla's face darkened, making her appear even more cute as she pointed at him angrily. "Y-yyyou… vagabond!"
Unimpressed Tyrion spoke. "That's the best you could come up with?"
Scylla's face turned even redder as tear threatened to spill from her eyes and her mouth opening wide as though wanting to wail.
"Alright! Alright! Just don't cry, I was just messing with you. It's just 2 death points now you. See I've mads the transaction, you should accept it."
Tyrion quickly said she could let out a noise.
Immediately, the lady swiped her watch and accepted the transfer as the tears vanished and her face returned to normal as though she wasn't the one about to cry.
Tyrion was stunned but shook his head with a laugh.
Popping her pink lips from the lollipop, Scylla ignored Tyrion pointing to a corner of the store as she said.
"Fourth hand items are in the at corner and third hand items next to it. Shu and don't block the other customers."
Tyrion scoffed. "There are no customers here!"
Scylla looked him up and down before curling her lips to a devilish smirk. "Exactly."
Tyrion oasued as he tried to process her response when his second brain kicked in. "Y-you moth- suuu!"
He inhaled deeply as he held in his rage while saying with gritted teeth.
"I'm here to sell something instead you little twerp!"
"Oh, we don't buy items second hand or less." Scylla replied without taking her eyes off the novel.
Tyrion's face darkened. "Don't you sell third and fourth hand items?"
"Oh, those? Those are items picked up from the dead recruits who died during the final examination. You know, I was pretty sure I would see that bad luck shoes again cause it's been returned six times. Really surprised you didn't die."
Giving him a askance glance she shrugged and returned to reading.
This time, Tyrion couldn't help hut he speechless!
"It's been worn six times? What the actual fvck!"
"Watch it! There's a kid in here!"
Scylla scolded.
Tyrion sneered. "Where is the kid? I can't find one."
Scowling Scylla sneered. "Touché! The store is closed, we aren't attending to broke customers!"
Sighing Tyrion cleared his throat. "I want to sell of a Blood Demon Art."
"Go away! Although your physique is strange, you are still a genetic soldier. There's no way you own a Blood Demon Art."
Tyrion immediately placed a bag of items on the counter.
"BAM!"
"Check it!"
Scylla frowned and glared at Tyrion angrily.
"Fine!"
Scylla opened up the bag and once she looked inside, her eye brows rose.
"The fudge? Did you loot the academy's treasury or what!? There's about 30 Blood Demon Arts in here!"
"Relax, they are ordinary Blood Demon Arts not epic, legendary or sacred. Since it's about 200,000 death points for one and there's about 30 in there, that's about 6,000,000 death points."
Scylla touched the squirming blood vessels before she then paused, sneering at Tyrion as she pushed the bag directly at him.
"Why don't you just rob the bank?"
"13 Gun skills Blood Demon Arts which is basically useless as no one still uses a gun and is priced at least 50,000 death points, 6 Overclock blood Demon Arts which can be considered a normal Blood Demon art but still due to its massive strain of the cells afterwards, it's priced at 120,000 death points."
"Then, there's the 7 Iron Skin blood Demon Art which stands at the same price with the Overclock demon art at 120,000 death points and finally, the 4 Lightfeet blood Demon arts, which is finally a truly rare blood Demon Art can be sold at 160,000 death points."
"In total, you will get 2,850,000."
Tyrion's face immediately kept changing as she stated the price and details of the blood vessels one by one, and by the end of her approximation, his face had turned entirely black.
Taking in a deep breath, he felt as though something was stuck in his throat as he replied. "I could sell these for at least 4 million death points at the academy."
"Then the people you are wary of would find out you still possess the items and have sold it. Moreover, that's I'm doing you a favor right now by not removing a single dime from this." Scylla wittedly responded.
"I'd still die rich though."
"Measer. Seeing as you might die, I'm willing to round it up to 2,900,000 and give you a random manual for free."
As she said this, she pulled out a huge book that was almost half her size and dumped it on the counter, creating dust every where.
