Chapter 650: Warning, Identity Revealed! Seeing Young Emperor Yin Again (1)

It was nearly impossible to guess the identity of the person based on appearance alone.

Si Fuqing raised an eyebrow, “You didn’t just come back from a tour of the far north, did you?”

“It’s just too cold here in Northern State,” Qu Lingyun replied as he took off his gloves and rubbed his hands together. “At least it’s warmer inside. Director Tang, I used to watch your dramas when I was younger. ‘Sword Immortal’ was really good, and with Miss Si’s acting skills, I’m really looking forward to your ‘Crossing the Demon Realm.”‘

As he spoke, he removed his mask and scarf.

Upon seeing Qu Lingyun’s face clearly, Tang Haiqiu’s eyes widened dramatically, and he leapt up in shock, “You… you…”

Qu Lingyun looked puzzled, ‘What about me? I really did watch your dramas when I was young.”

Who didn’t dream of being in a xianxia epic as a child?

‘Sword Immortal’ was a drama from ten years ago, when he was just in his early twenties, full of youthful zeal and fervor.

Qu Lingyun had watched ‘Sword Immortal’ several times over and still remembered the lines to this day.

The reason Tang Haiqiu’s xianxia dramas were considered the pinnacle was due to the meticulous crafting of actor performances, fight scenes, and dialogue.

Unlike many current TV series where eighty percent of the budget goes to star salaries, starting with a buzz of social media marketing, and little actually spent on the production itself.

“Absolutely not,” Tang Haiqiu, his back sweating, said, “You’re the celebrated director from Glenn!”

The Glenn Awards had been around for nearly a hundred years, and in the field of directing, Qu Lingyun was the only one who has won the Glenn Award for Best Director.

Not just once, either.

Good directors and actors brought out the best in each other.

And that was true for Yun Lan and Qu Lingyun.

Unfortunately, after Yun Lan retired, Qu Lingyun hadn’t directed any more films, instead designing clothing and jewelry.

Yet, this still couldn’t shake his supreme status in the directorial world.

Many people said he was waiting for Yun Lan to return.

“Director Tang, you are also my senior,” Qu Lingyun shook his head, “Each to their own specialty. If you asked me to direct a TV drama, I really couldn’t do it.”

Tang Haiqiu looked at the ceiling, still in a state of numb shock, “No wonder…”

No wonder he was able to secure a slot on IFTV.

Scheduling was challenging internationally due to time differences.

IFTV had purchased the international broadcast rights to three of Qu Lingyun’s films, which were shown in rotation each month.

Only Qu Lingyun had the clout to get IFTV to premiere a new drama.

“Our release is on January 20th, less than a month and a half away,” Qu Lingyun thought aloud, “Director Tang, have your team finalize the edit quickly so we can translate it into multiple languages for broadcast in different countries.”

IFTV was an international channel, which had broadcast partners in every country.

Once again, Tang Haiqiu turned to stone, unmoving.

Qu Lingyun turned his head, looking somewhat aggrieved, “…do I really seem that frightening?”

Si Fuqing glanced at him, “I don’t feel anything.”

She just didn’t want to be roped into working.

After a while, Tang Haiqiu finally calmed down, “Director Qu, thank you, I really don’t know how to thank you enough.”

This was a huge favor from Qu Lingyun.

A simultaneous international release was something no other domestic drama could manage.

Accordingly, for the first time, Tang Haiqiu felt apprehensive.

Cultural differences varied by country, and he was quite worried about the international reception.

“It’s nothing, great dramas should be shared with everyone,” Qu Lingyun waved his hand dismissively, “Directors like you, who stick to their original intent, are rare nowadays.”

Tang Haiqiu sighed deeply, “I’ve always wanted to meet you, you’re a genius in the directing world. I never expected that Fuqing knew you.”

“Director Tang is also my idol,” Qu Lingyun nodded, “I’m currently refining a script and gathering inspiration. Once I’m ready, I will invite Miss Si to star in my new movie.”

Tang Haiqiu’s hand twitched, his gaze darting to Si Fuqing who was sipping on a coke, “You…”

Qu Lingyun was a golden ticket.

Many international actresses dreamed of starring in a Qu Lingyun film but never got the chance.

And now, what did he just hear?!

Could Tong Luoyun even compare?

Si Fuqing casually placed a bottle of pills in front of him, “Director Tang, here’s my Sisi brand fast-acting heart-saving pills, take one when your heart feels weak.”

Tang Haiqiu responded, “…I think seeing you less would be better for my heart.”

“I’ll let the two award-winning directors chat, ” Si Fuqing agreed amiably, “I’m heading home now, call me if you need anything..”
