Chapter 455 - 455: Great Xia’s Number One Agent! Regret (2)
He figured that since retirement was the same everyvvhere, he might as well spend his time in front of his future student, perhaps securing his position as her master.
“Girl, just quit the entertainment industry,” Gu Huiyan said with a heavy heart. “You’ve seen it for yourself; it’s a place that devours you without spitting out your bones. Come to the Heaven Earth Alliance, and what don’t you have?”
“Elder Gu, I actually quite enjoy acting,” Si Fuqing replied with a smile. “And besides, which circle isn’t messy?”
Wherever there are people, disputes arise over interests.
“That’s true. Heaven Earth Alliance is quite chaotic as well,” Gu Huiyan sighed.
After hesitating, he asked, “Do you have a teacher?”
Si Fuqing seemed thoughtful. “More than one, it seems.”
Gu Huiyan was taken aback, clutching his chest as if in pain.
What was happening? He couldn’t even secure the second position?
Struggling, he asked, “What about your ‘Thousand Miles of Rivers and
Mountains’ embroidery?”
“I’ve finished half of it,” Si Fuqing nodded. “Once I’m done and have it framed, I’ll show you the finished piece.”
“Alright, alright, no problem,” Gu Huiyan agreed eagerly. “I’ll make sure it’s brought back to Heaven Earth Alliance in grand style. It’s lunchtime; shall we
go out for a meal?”
Before Si Fuqing could respond, a voice carrying a light and indifferent laugh sounded.
“Elder Gu, you shouldn’t try to poach my person right in front of me,” said the voice.
Gu Huiyan turned around.
Yu Xiheng was seated in a wheelchair, one hand propping up his head, “It’s unbecoming of you.”
“What image do I have left? I…” Gu Huiyan bit his teeth, “Fine, I’ll come back in the evening.”
After all, he had accepted a few antiques sent by Yu Xiheng.
It was hard to refuse someone after accepting their gifts.
Yu Xiheng said, “Let’s go.”
“Coming.” Si Fuqing stood up, her expression serious, “Elite employee Sisi, at your service.”
Gu Huiyan’s suspicious gaze circled between Yu Xiheng and Si Fuqing after.
It seemed to be a normal superior-subordinate relationship.
He was reassured.
Gu Huiyan sighed deeply.
His journey to acquire a student was proving to be long and arduous.
After sending Gu Huiyan off, Si Fuqing and Yu Xiheng headed to the ancient street.
She wore a hat and sunglasses, with no further disguise.
It was the peak of summer in the Southern State, and tourists were sparse.
Si Fuqing pointed at a vendor selling grilled skewer,: “Boss, I’d like to have some skewers, is that okay?”
Just as she finished speaking, a commotion erupted from behind, mixed with several exclamations.
“Look, isn’t that Si Fuqing?”
“The silhouette looks like her; let’s chase and see.”
“I heard she’s even more beautiful in person, let’s go.”
Si Fuqing hadn’t expected to be recognized by tourists just from her silhouette.
She wouldn’t mind signing autographs or taking photos if she were alone.
But today, she was with Yu Xiheng.
It wasn’t the right time.
Si Fuqing withdrew her hand from buying the skewers and suddenly grabbed the man’s wrist, her eyes sparkling, “Boss, let’s run.” Yu Xiheng paused slightly.
Her eyes were filled with anticipation, hard to resist.
He hesitated for only a second, then calmly grasped her hand, “Then let’s run.”
They dashed through the crowd and soon reached the forest behind.
The wind rustled through, birds sang.
The air of summer was hot and warm.
Only when they were alone did Si Fuqing stop, releasing his hand, “Okay, we’ve shaken them off. Another perfect day.”
Yu Xiheng raised a hand, “Wait.”
He adjusted her sun hat, looking down at her.
But it didn’t feel oppressive.
His tall figure mixed with the dappled shade of the leaves, against the backdrop of the blue sky and rosy clouds.
The scent of fresh grass mingled with his cool, nocturnal fragrance.
When she moved closer, her clothes also picked up his scent.
Si Fuqing sat down on the grass, “Seems like we’ll need to carry masks from now on.”
With a mask, no one would recognize her.
“Yes, you’re famous,” Yu Xiheng sat beside her, nodding slightly. “How far have you gotten in your book?”
“Ah?” Si Fuqing knew he was referring to “The Chronicle of Emperor Yin”. Resting her chin on her hands, she said, “I’ve been a bit busy lately, haven’t had the chance to read.”
“But what’s always puzzled me is that, whether in official history or folklore, the Emperor’s name is never recorded..”
