Chapter 297 Developing Military Bases

Rather than hastily marching to confront the Barbarians in their other seized territories, they made an unexpected choice.

The region they had liberated was chosen as their temporary haven, a place to regroup and fortify.

With meticulous determination, they embarked on constructing Teleportation Formations and an array of defensive structures, a barrier meant to thwart any audacious Barbarian attempts to breach the Golden Sun Empire\'s borders once more.

News of this hard-won victory spread like wildfire, reaching the opulent halls of the Golden Sun Empire\'s capital.

The elation that swept through Emperor Julius and Empress Charlotte was palpable, a fervent triumph rekindling their hopes.

Responding to this momentum, Wang Jian took it upon himself to correspond with Julius, dispatching a message that beseeched for a high-ranking official to be sent.

This barren expanse they had reclaimed needed swift reconstruction to become a habitable land once more.

Among the first structures to emerge in this reborn land was a formidable military base, destined to be the linchpin from which the Golden Sun Empire\'s retaliatory strikes would emanate.

But Julius, in a startling move, disrupted the expected flow of events. Instead of sending a delegate to oversee the region, he chose to relocate himself to the very heart of the reclaimed land. In this risky decision lay the potential for immense public support and, more importantly, the assurance that the land\'s resurrection would be expedited under his personal management.

For Julius, the prime goal was to marshal the region\'s resources and efforts, channeling them into the construction of a military stronghold that could repel the Barbarian advances.

Yet, his decision was not without its shadows. Julius knew full well the dangers he embraced by living on the perilous frontlines. But the call of duty and the urgency of his task overshadowed his personal safety concerns.

With open candor, he revealed his audacious plans to his women, hoping for their understanding and support.

However, this hope was met with a resounding and unexpected resistance.

Charlotte and even the members of Julius\'s harem staunchly rejected the notion of accompanying him to this perilous locale.

Their self-preservation instincts, deeply ingrained, trumped all other considerations.

Julius, undeterred, attempted to sway their decisions with his heartfelt appeals. Yet, in the end, his attempts fell flat, and he found himself journeying to the frontlines alone.

Unbeknownst to him, beneath the surface of these rejections, a web of ambition and intrigue was being spun.

Charlotte\'s decision to stay behind was guided by her hidden agenda – her desire to consolidate political power and support for herself, with the eventual intention of passing it to Wang Jian when the opportune moment arose.

A contented smile played upon Wang Jian\'s lips as he reached for the Telephone Artifact, bridging the distance between him and Charlotte. His voice, tinged with a hint of anticipation, flowed through the device, "I\'ll pay you a visit tonight, Charlotte. Consider it a reward."

Empress Charlotte\'s response was swift, her voice brimming with an eager undertone, "Absolutely, Emperor Wang. I\'ll be here, waiting for you."

News of the liberation of the region from the fierce grip of the Barbarian Race resonated like a clarion call across the expanse of the Southern Region.

The triumph of Wang Jian\'s expert team transcended mere achievement – it shook the foundations of expectation.

Though the Empires had sought Wang Jian\'s aid against the menacing tide of the Barbarians, the astonishing efficiency and celerity of his actions caught them off guard.

The echo of his deeds reverberated, carving him a niche as an unexpected beacon of hope within the Southern Region.

Within the tapestry of this precarious time, Wang Jian\'s name became synonymous with heroism, an emblem of unwavering courage and dedication in the face of peril.

Every community and city within the Southern Region spoke his name with reverence, for Wang Jian had risen to the role of a savior, the sole individual capable of quelling the ferocious threat of the Barbarian Race.

In this pivotal moment, the question of Wang Jian\'s lineage, once a point of skepticism and division, took a backseat.

The desperation for survival overpowered prejudice, and the humans turned a blind eye to the devilish aspect that intertwined with his nature.

In their eyes, his actions spoke louder than his lineage, making his humanity the prevailing aspect to be trusted.

Such a twist in perspective didn\'t escape Wang Jian\'s foresight.

Aware of the innate self-interest that drove human behavior, he anticipated their tendency to adapt truths to their needs.

Their willingness to embrace a half-devil as their champion wasn\'t out of genuine acceptance, but rather an alignment of circumstances that forced their hand.

In a twist that left everyone perplexed, an unexpected turn of events unfolded.

The territories that the relentless Barbarian Race had conquered with their ruthless might were suddenly and inexplicably deserted.

The warriors who had once occupied these conquered regions withdrew, retreating back into their enigmatic Ruthless Barbarian Immortal Dominion.

Caught off guard by this puzzling development, Wang Jian found himself grappling with uncertainty. The motivation behind the Barbarians\' sudden change of heart eluded him.

Swiftly taking charge, he dispatched orders to the other Empires within the coalition, urging them to establish defensive perimeters and military bases in the newly reclaimed territories.

The Golden Sun Empire, bearing the scars of Jiang Chen\'s ruthless onslaught, embarked on this endeavor with a renewed determination.

Emperor Julius himself, bearing the weight of his shattered capital and decimated Emperor Realm experts, oversaw the process.

His presence lent urgency and gravity to the task, a testament to the Empire\'s resolve to shield its borders from future incursions.

However, while the Golden Sun Empire rallied under Julius\'s watchful eye, the response from the other Empires took a markedly different turn.

Having evaded the devastating blows dealt to Julius\'s realm, they stood in a more secure position.

The wounds of loss and destruction were not etched upon their foundations, and their roster of formidable experts remained relatively unscathed.

This difference in circumstance fostered an unequal sense of urgency.

The Emperors of these Empires did not feel the same immediate need to personally oversee the establishment of defenses.

Their military prowess, as yet untarnished by calamity, stood sentinel over their domains, ensuring that the groundwork for the newly reclaimed lands could be laid swiftly and efficiently.

While this occurred in the Southern Region of the Continent, an exciting scenario unfolded within the Western Deserts.

The Angels who had been deployed in the Western Deserts had fought an excruciating and rather tough battle against Jiang Chen and his devil forces.

Jiang Chen had utilized many unique techniques and some powerful techniques to deal with these angels. And he had succeeded in injuring them severely. Even the Angels at the Saint Realm.

However, the Angels were prepared to fight against Jiang Chen. They had brought many rare artifacts with which they quickly healed their allies while bombarding Jiang Chen and his forces with powerful and dense Holy Attribute.

And after multiple attempts, they managed to subdue Jiang Chen.

Although Jiang Chen was powerful, he wasn\'t invincible. Not in his current restrained state at the very least.

Thus, it really happened. Jiang Chen and most of his subordinates lost their lives in this battle against the Angels while a few of them were captured.

Word of Jiang Chen\'s apparent demise spread swiftly across the continent, eliciting sighs of relief from those who had harbored hostility toward the devil forces he led.

Yet, amidst the jubilation, only the Heavenly Court\'s highest echelons and the Angel Race were privy to a secret truth: Jiang Chen\'s story was far from over. Confirmation of his death remained elusive.

In the annals of history, there existed a reason why Jiang Chen had eluded death during the ancient Great War. He had battled foes of equal might, yet their efforts to end his life had been in vain. The root of his resilience lay in a formidable and enigmatic technique: the Spectral Blood Soul Splitting Technique.

Through this arcane art, Jiang Chen could infuse a fragment of his own soul and life essence into other beings, whether devil or human. Upon his demise, these dormant fragments would awaken, and he would select one vessel to resurrect within.

Moreover, this would allow Jiang Chen to retain his abilities from his original body due to the blood essence while also acquiring new abilities that were present in that particular body that he would be revived himself in.

During the Great War, Jiang Chen had split his soul and spread his blood vessel amongst thousands of beings. It was impossible to detect this part of the soul or blood essence until it was activated.

Thus, the experts of that era realized that they would have to kill Jiang Chen thousands of times before he dies truly.

However, the other strategy they came upon was to seal him for such a long period that all the beings in whom he had implanted his blood essence and the soul would die due to the passage of time. Once they were dead and Jiang Chen was unsealed in the future, he could be killed before he regains his power.
