Chapter 256 It's An Enduring Hunter...
The Look of jealous was everywhere on Perseus's face.
Then again, he never intended on hiding it in the first place.
Every body was hungry.
However, Hector, Athena and Perseus looked at their meal sceptically.
Crusher and Insect-B on the other hand could not careless, and ripped out some of the ribcage to feed on.
"This is cannibalism!" Athena stated.
Lenny turned to her, "nope, it's food. Cannibalism is when you eat of your own kind."
"But, we are half Demons!" She stated an obvious fact.
However, Lenny and crusher raised an eyebrow at her.
"We are humans. Always have been, and always will be. Half born or not, we are still human. Besides, if they can eat us, why not the other way round?"
Lenny's point was just too good to argue with.
"Besides, it is either this, or you eat your mount." Lenny pointed at the giant insect they had ridden on.
Athena frowned, "I just remembered. I had a big breakfast today!" She declined, and so did Hector.
However, Perseus on the other hand, brazenly took some meat from ribs of the roasted demon to his mouth.
He took a deep bite into it.
It was juicy and far more tender than he thought it would be.
Meat was a luxury that Gladiators were never entitled to in the Arena.
Unless it was cockroaches or a stray rat that had found itself by accident in their cells.
In fact, even if a person was to find a rat, the solution would be either to sell it, or struggle to keep the meat as other gladiators will definitely fight for it.
The luxury of even roasting it so peacefully was a lie.
Lenny remembered something and waved a hand.
Some of the honey substance that he had gotten from inside the Paraglider's body appeared, and he smeared it on the meat.
Taking a bite from it, he had to admit that the taste was much better.
Crusher saw this and asked for some.
Lenny nodded as he shared with them.
They chuckled as they ate in peace.
However, from time to time, Lenny's eyes would dart into the shadows.
It was as if he was piercing through the dark veil to look at something or rather somethings.
As he did, he looked at Athena, and as she laid in Hector's arms, her eyes seemed to communicate with Lenny.
Slowly, and unsuspectingly, she nodded at him.
Athena had incredible senses. It was obvious that she was aware that they had a peeping Tom staring at them.
Surprisingly, there was another person that also figured out that they was something in the dark.
It was Crusher.
Lenny suddenly yawned.
"Hey, guys! I am tired. We have had a really long day today. We should go to sleep."
"Yeah! I agree," Crusher stood to his feet as he also stretched.
He really did look tired, and after all that live action Porno with Insect-B's new legs, he really wanted to rest.
Lenny suddenly put off the fire by stomping on it.
They were Half-borns. This level of fire was nothing to them. Even though he was barefooted like the rest of them, Lenny quickly put off the fire, and then he waved his hand and the demon meat disappeared.
This took Hector and Perseus by surprise.
Especially Perseus, he was just starting to get the hang of enjoying demin meat.
However, Athena stood up in support of this.
This surprised Hector even further.
After all, they were gladiators, and were very high ranked ones at that.
In fact, they were already at the lesser demon ranks.
In truth, regardless of the kind of day they had had, sleeping was not so necessary.
However, Lenny wanted to know.
After all, they were being hunted.
The fire was killed and everyone took a spot not so far from one another to sleep.
If a word was used to describe their sleeping positions, then it would be one word... Careless.
Athena slept on Hector's chest, Crusher slept with Insect-B in his arms.
While Lenny and Perseus laid alone in their own corners.
It was night.
This forest had such high trees with thick leaves and branches that even the night sky was not visible.
The only entertainment was the continuous sound of crickets that no one could see.
Of course, there were mosquitoes, but for people of such strength, the disturbance might as well have been additional music to the ones the crickets provided.
Lenny counted steadily in his mind as the seconds passed, turning to minutes, and then to hours.
He was really excited about what was to come next.
After all, the longer the wait, the more interesting the opponent was.
It was obvious that this was a very good hunter.
Patience was a virture shared by those that wanted a bountiful harvest.
Just from the hours waited, Lenny could already tell that this opponent might as well be a very interesting one.
Patiently, he continued to silently count and wait, and just when it was at the seventh hour and the air was filled with the cook and natural faint smell of the morning, it moved.
Or rather, as Lenny would later come to realize, it was a 'THEY'
Lenny's Passive skill helped him sense his environment.
This meant that they was no movement around that should escape him.
However, even this skill was not able to sense his opponents movement.
It as if nothing was happening. However, Lenny's Assassin senses trained by the continuous hammering of death herself told him that his opponent was on the move.
It came like water. However, this water was as black as the night and it did not flow on the ground infact it...
