Chapter 499 - 499: The Name was Decided That Night!
The butler got out of the car and went to the back to open the door for her.
Su Ji was holding something in her arms.
Du Meilan came out and saw the butler first. “Have you bought it? I forgot to tell you that there’s a big pet shop behind the villa area.”
The butler smiled modestly. “Madam, we didn’t go to the pet shop. We went to the poultry market.”
“…poultry market?!” Du Meilan’s voice was one pitch higher.
She quickly looked at Su Ji, who was holding a white, furry, and a little yellow…substitute for a mandarin duck.
Du Meilan’s timing was very accurate. At 9 0’clock in the evening, Pei Huai’s car drove into the Pei family’s courtyard.
When Pei Huai got out of the car, the whole family was gathered in the courtyard looking at something. It was only after a while that they noticed that he had returned.
“Pei Huai, where’s your mother? Why didn’t you come back together?” Pei Qingshen asked.
Pei Huai’s gaze first went to Su Ji, who was still squatting on the ground and looking at that thing. “She has gone home. I’ve asked her to come.”
Xu Mingzhi thought her daughter could stay at the Pei family’s house occasionally, but it was not appropriate for her to stay there all the time.
She had asked Wei Wei to come back a day earlier to remove all the remaining paparazzi in the vicinity of the house.
Du Meilan sighed. “I knew it. She is stubborn.”
Pei Xingxing squatted beside Su Ji. “Can I touch it?”
Pei Huai narrowed his eyes slightly. “What’s that?”
Pei Xi looked over. “Su Ji, Pei Huai is back!”
Su Ji and Pei Xingxing turned around.
Bill sounded excited. His deep eyes were emitting a sapphire glow in the dark courtyard. “Pei Huai, Su Ji bought you a little pet! I envy you so much!”
The Pei family stood in different positions, but at this moment, their gazes were all on Pei Huai.
They were more or less here to watch the show.
They wanted to see Pei Huai’s reaction when he saw the little pet.
They were waiting to see how he had to pretend to like it because it was from his girlfriend.
Then, in the next second, Su Ji stood up with Pei Xingxing in her arms and moved aside. The little pet appeared in Pei Huai’s sight.
The white feathers were very eye-catching in the dark surroundings.
Its body was snow-white, but its mouth and two small feet were a particularly bright orange color. It was fat and short, and there was a pink ribbon tied around its long neck, making it look like a gift.
It was a big white duck that the butler had found for Su Ji in the poultry market!
Its two black beady eyes immediately focused on Pei Huai. Its head tilted and its entire body froze.
As expected, it did not escape the curse. Just like the other small animals that had seen Pei Huai in the past, it inexplicably liked him very much. Its two legs moved quickly, and its body swayed left and right as it ran towards Pei Huai.
“Kaw!”
“Kaka!”
The white duck quickly ran up to Pei Huai and pecked at his expensive trousers.
“Kakaka!”
The Pei family members quickly exchanged glances.
It’s coming!
This was the moment where they mustn’t miss Pei Huai’s expression!!
They looked at Pei Huai at the same time. Immediately after, an extremely fantastical thing happened!!
Pei Huai’s expression did not show any hint of disdain that he was trying his best to hide!
It wasn’t that he hid it well, but that he really didn’t have it!
Du Meilan even felt that her son’s ears were a little red!
He looked at the big white duck. He…had never seen such a cute carbon-based creature before…
Under the shocked gazes of the Pei family, Pei Huai picked up the big white duck and stroked its thick layers of feathers with his hands that were disinfected every day.
“Do you like it?” Su Ji asked tentatively. The shop owner said it’s easy to take care of.”
Pei Huai pursed his thin lips.
He did not answer, but his expression was enough to prove everything.
It’s now part of the Pei family.
Pei Xingxing tooted. Everyone said that his uncle would not like it. He was still waiting for him to refuse so he could take it instead.
Pei Qingshen did not expect his grandson to have such double-standard.
But then again, the duck was really pretty.
It must be the prettiest duck in the poultry market.
After Pei Huai picked up the duck, he never put it down again.
He didn’t even want others to stare at it.
Pei Xingxing tugged at Su Ji’s clothes. “Let’s give her a name?”
Su Ji asked, “what do you suggest?”
Pei Xingxing said, “I want to call it Pei Xiaohua.”
Su Ji: ?
Pei Xingxing pointed at Pei Xi and seemed to be very reluctant. “Xiaohua is the name I gave to my aunt’s baby. But since the duck needs a name, I’ll give it to her instead!”
Pei Xi’s mouth twitched.
Everyone gathered around the big white duck and chatted for a while. Pei Huai, who had been silent all this while, quietly said, “Su Ji gave it to me.”
Everyone stopped talking and looked at him.
Pei Huai said, “I’ll name it.”
Du Meilan understood her son’s current state. When he showed possessiveness towards something, he had to write his name on it.
The name of Pei Huai’s favorite pet was decided that night.
The butler said to him, “Young Master, Ms. Su Ji wanted to buy a mandarin duck (Yuanyang) for you initially.”
Su Ji was beside him, leaning against the window of his room and reading a book. When she heard this, she looked awkward.
She placed her hand on her forehead, blocking Pei Huai’s line of sight.
Later, Pei Huai asked the butler to bring Pei Yuanyang somewhere else.
The butler immediately understood. “Yes.”
He carefully carried Pei Yuanyang out of the master’s room. Suddenly, he realized something and his eyes widened.
Did he call it “Pei Yuanyang”?
The sound of the door being locked was heard. Pei Huai carried Su Ji from the window to the bed.
He started askking her why she didn’t video call him for the next few days.
Su Ji panted heavily during the kiss, unable to respond to what he was asking.
Pei Huai also said that he liked it when she suddenly checked on him and even asked her to check on him personally tonight…
His hand was on her hair a few times.
She resisted vigorously in the beginning, but it was useless. It was only when she stopped resisting that he gradually slowed down.
Pei Yuanyang’s small feet stomped back and forth at the door, and she would occasionally peck at the door.
“Kaka!”
“Kakaka!”
The butler and servants looked at each other, but no one dared to do anything.
They did not even dare to raise their voices at it, let alone reach out to grab it.
Fortunately, no one in the room could hear the sound of it pecking at the door.
In between, Su Ji asked him in a hoarse voice, “you’re not really going to call it
Pei Yuanyang, are you?”
Pei Huai said, “it likes the name.”
Su Ji wanted to say “bullshit”.
He knew that she didn’t believe him. He kissed her forehead that was glistening with sweat. “I like the gift you got me..”
