Chapter 262 - I Decided to Marry Qin Wei

Chapter 262 I Decided to Marry Qin Wei

She had already eaten the sleeping pills prescribed by the doctor. But why couldn’t she fall asleep?

Perhaps it was because she never thought about getting married so suddenly, even more suddenly than Su Jianan did half a year ago.

In fact, there was nothing to think about.

Even if she didn’t marry Qin Wei the next day, she would still have to marry him once Lao Luo woke up.

Luo Xiaoxi gently pulled down the curtains, closed her eyes, and sank into the darkness.

Let it be.

Luo Xiaoxi woke up very early the next day. The mirror reflected her poor spirit that she had to skillfully conceal herself with cosmetics.

In the end, she lifted the corners of her lips with both hands.

“Luo Xiaoxi, smile.”

She did not realize that her eyes were dim. She could disguise a smile on her lips, but her eyes still seeped unhappiness.

“Dad, Mom.” Before leaving the hospital, Luo Xiaoxi held on her parents’ hands at the same time. “I am getting married today. Can you wake up soon? Otherwise, I can’t host a wedding. You know how much I’ve looked forward to my own wedding.”

Even though, the groom was not the one she loved.

On the way to the Civil Affairs Bureau, Luo Xiaoxi remained quiet. She rested her chin on one hand and watched the traffic without observing anything.

Her eyes were empty.

Her head was empty

Her whole person was empty.

She could only suppress the impulse to back out by completely emptying herself.

Qin Wei just quiet drove on, but he was crystal clear that no couple should be this calm on their way to get registered.

The dazzling sports car pulled up in front of the Civil Affairs Bureau. Luo Xiaoxi looked at the three golden-stamped characters, and her mind fell into moments of absence.

She couldn’t wait any longer. Otherwise, she would definitely run away.

In the next second, Luo Xiaoxi unbuckled her seat belt and decisively pushed open the door to get off.

Qin Wei stopped her in time. “Xiaoxi, it’s not too late to call it off. I haven’t told my parents yet. I won’t blame you if you don’t want to continue. I’ll just think of today as taking you out for a ride.”

“Qin Wei, thank you.” Luo Xiaoxi smiled. “Let’s go in.”

“Are you certain about it? Are you clear about what it means to marry me?”

Luo Xiaoxi lowered her head. “I am very certain. Also... I will never regret it.”

What was there to regret doing the right thing?

The only thing she regretted was blindly loving Su Yicheng for so many years.

It was still early in the day, but the Civil Affairs Bureau was already bustling. A pair of young couples sat next to the marriage registration station cuddling with each other. Their faces looked hopeful for the future. Even the air floated with a sweet aroma.

Though Luo Xiaoxi had attended to significant events, at the moment, she actually felt a little scared and wanted to back out...

“Sit down.” Qin Wei’s voice brought Luo Xiaoxi back to reality. “There are a lot of people; we’ll have to wait for our turn.”

“... Sure.”

Luo Xiaoxi sat down mechanically and twisted her hands anxiously. In the next second, a dry and rough hand wrapped around her hand. Qin Wei said, “Xiaoxi, you can’t regret it now.”

“... I won’t.”

Only Luo Xiaoxi felt the rims of her eyes getting warm.

It must be because she was so happy.

...

Traffic during the morning rush hour was so terrible that it extinguished the fighting spirit which just sparked in everyone.

Tens of thousands of cars flooded the road, filling up all the spaces till the end of the roads.

The driver frowned at the traffic condition. “Boss Su, there’s... no way of driving there.”

Su Yicheng’s brows frowned even deeper on his sullen face. “How far are we from the Civil Affairs Bureau?”

“Four or five kilometers.” The driver pointed to the front. “It’s just straight forward.”

At the finish of his sentence, Su Yicheng already stepped outside the car. He passed cars after cars and lightly hopped over the roadside divider to the sidewalk.

The driver opened his mouth exaggeratedly.

He knew that Su Yicheng had practiced close combat and had some good skills. But since he hired bodyguards for security work, no one had ever seen Su Yicheng make a move.

Su Yicheng was typically perceived as a gentleman dressed in suits, as opposed to a scary martial arts man with great strength.

It was the driver’s first time seeing Su Yicheng set aside his gentleman posture to rush to the sidewalk regardless of the bustling crowd.

Soon, his figure quickly disappeared from the driver’s eye sight.

The four to five kilometers distance was nothing to Su Yicheng. The cold breeze in late autumn swept across his ears, but he felt no discomfort even in his leather shoes.

He was clearly focused on the text message from Qin Wei.

—Xiaoxi agreed to marry me; we are now heading to the Civil Affairs Bureau.

He accepted Luo Xiaoxi’s anger and ignorance toward him. He would even allow her to beat him for he was the one at fault first.

But he could not accept her marriage to others.

Su Yicheng did not know how fast his pace was, but he always felt too slow and wanted to run faster.

Amid late autumn, people had already begun wrapping scarves around the neck to keep warm. When Su Yicheng arrived at the entrance of the Civil Affairs Bureau, a thick layer of sweat permeated his forehead, slightly moistening the black hair on his forehead.

Without taking time to catch his breath, he rushed into the Civil Affairs Bureau and saw Qin Wei and Luo Xiaoxi sitting in front of an application window.

He felt something broken apart inside his head when Luo Xiaoxi picked up the pen. Without further consideration, he rushed over to snatch away the pen from Luo Xiaoxi’s hand and slammed it out.

Luo Xiaoxi only signed a “Luo” character on that piece of paper, and the last stroke was pulled long when he snatched the pen away.

Su Yicheng developed an inexplicable hatred toward the piece of paper. He grabbed it, tore it up, and raised his hand to let the shredded paper fall.

He glared at Luo Xiaoxi as if he wanted to devour her into his belly. His chest was breathing up and down with anger.

The entire Civil Affairs Bureau fell silent.

The staff stunned at Su Yicheng. They had seen people who came to cause trouble, but they had never seen anyone so overbearing yet so unscrupulous.

The other couples who came to get registered were also stunned, for they had seen a handsome man before, but not as attractive as Su Yicheng.

Luo Xiaoxi watched Su Yicheng through the flying pieces of paper. The panic and uneasiness she had felt earlier suddenly disappeared.

Though she hated to admit it, the hidden fact in her heart was that she was waiting for Su Yicheng.

Qin Wei was the only one who remained unchanged to the situation.

Earlier when he got on the car, he sent a text message to Su Yicheng as a way of giving Luo Xiaoxi one last chance.

Since Su Yicheng arrived at the last minute, perhaps it was destiny.

Su Yicheng gripped Luo Xiaoxi’s hand and tried to drag her outside. After two steps, Luo Xiaoxi finally came to react and struggled. “Su Yicheng, let me go!”

Su Yicheng ignored her.

Luo Xiaoxi bent down her head and bit his wrist. The harder she bit, the harder Su Sucheng dragged her. He didn’t let go, and she soon tasted his rusty blood.

Eventually, Luo Xiaoxi’s soft heart gave up.

“Lunatic!” She pushed Su Yicheng forcefully. “What are you doing!”

The blood stained Su Yicheng’s sleeve cuff, but he didn’t budge. Instead, he directly picked up Luo Xiaoxi and walked out of the Civil Affairs Bureau.

Luo Xiaoxi struggled to free herself by punching down on him, but it felt like her punches came down to cotton. Su Yicheng did not put her down until they arrived in front of the car.

She sought the chance to run, but Su Yicheng violently pressed her against the door and stared at her like a wolf. “Luo Xiaoxi, unless I take you here, otherwise, never set foot in this place.”

Luo Xiaoxi also calmed down and smiled. “Oh, really?” She flipped her hair. “Su Yicheng, you better let me go right now! Or I will call the police immediately!”

She took out her cell phone and it was instantly taken away by Su Yicheng. Slam! It shattered into pieces.

“You...” Luo Xiaoxi’s nature was stimulated once she became agitated. She lifted her feet and tried to kick Su Yicheng, but instead, she was easily held down.

She had no choice but to turn her head away. “Su Yicheng, listen carefully—I don’t love you anymore.”

Su Yicheng’s eyes sank, and after a few seconds, his lips slightly lifted up. “That’s fine, I don’t mind.”

“...” After a long silence, Luo Xiaoxi suddenly broke out. “What is your problem? We can never be together. I will never love you as much as I used to. Weren’t you used to clean-cut breakups? What are you waiting for now!”

Su Yicheng slightly blinked his eyes, which was a very dangerous sign.

He asked, “Do you really want to marry Qin Wei?”

“Of course!” Luo Xiaoxi looked directly into Su Yicheng’s eyes, and said word by word, “I should have been married to Qin Wei. In that case, my parents would not be involved in that accident, and I would not be caught in this mess with you!”

“Su Yicheng, I have never regretted what I had done. But now, I really regret loving you, do you understand?”

Su Yicheng’s gaze suddenly dimmed, and unknowingly, Luo Xiaoxi’s heart shook as well.

“What is it going to take for you to forgive me?” His voice was gentle and full of helplessness.

He would probably never say this to another person.

Luo Xiaoxi shook her head. “I never will.”

“Fine.” Su Yicheng clenched his hand into a fist. “We will entangle ourselves like this till the last day of our lives.”

Luo Xiaoxi felt frightened for no reason.

What Su Yicheng meant by entanglement for a lifetime was definitely not as simple as it seemed.

She looked at him carefully. “I can forgive you, but you just have to promise me one thing.”

He looked at her and motioned her to continue.

Luo Xiaoxi said, “Let me marry Qin Wei.”

Su Yicheng’s knuckles turned white and his anger turned into laughter. “Luo Xiaoxi, in your dreams!”

“It fine even if you don’t agree.” Luo Xiaoxi said indifferently, “I have already decided to marry Qin Wei anyway, let me go!”

At this time, the phone in Su Yicheng’s pocket rang, and he emptied one hand to pick up the phone. Luo Xiaoxi took the opportunity to slip but was eventually caught by his quick eyes and hands.

“Su Yicheng!” She struggled with anger. “I said let me go! Believe it or not, I’ll bite you until you die of blood loss!”

Su Yicheng knitted his eyebrows and looked at her. “Stop yelling.”

“Shut up! Let me go!” This time she was really going to bite Su Yicheng.

Su Yicheng covered her mouth. “Your dad woke up.”
