Chapter 94 True Name
Chapter 94 True Name
Exedra took only a moment to check and was able to confirm Belphegor's words.
His body was coursing with power the likes of which he'd never felt before.
Not only that, his body now felt perfectly in balance, as if he had no shortcomings.
With a quick glance at his system, he was able to confirm it.

"True name?" Exedra stared in confusion at the new section of his status.
"Ah.. so that's what's different." Belphegor didn't seem to surprised by this realization and instead yawned sleepily.
Seeing that his nephew was still confused the slothful demon lord took it upon himself to explain. "Like evolutions true names are carved into our soul but that is where the similarities end."
"True names belong exclusively to arch demons and us primordials. They imbue us with greater power than those without because they are given to us not by Asherah, but our fallen father."
"The names themselves possess varying degrees of power depending on their meaning and enhance the power of the named that much more. Lucifer, the sin of pride, is the strongest of all of us because father named him after himself."
"Alright.. so what does it actually do." Exedra was like a sponge that wanted to greedily soak up every source of power available.
"Do you have to ask so many questions..?"
"The faster you answer the faster we can stop."
Belphegor heaved an exhausted sigh but continued to answer questions all the same.
"In addition to enhancing your lethality, it allows you to create demons from weaker races using your blood. Dragons like yourself will not be affected but humans and other lowborn species are no trouble. It will not work every time though."
'Creating demons…?'
While the prospect was interesting, Exedra already had an army of powerful demons that were waiting to be called so he did not believe he would utilize this that much.
The mention of demons brought Exedra to another topic he'd previously forgotten about. "My wife Bekka.. she was acting strangely around me when I first awoke."
"That is to be expected. You are a sin. A king to demon kind that commands respect and servitude. Witnessing the birth of such a being would cause her demonic blood to stir and drive her to serve your every whim."
"I do not need her to serve me I need her to be herself." Exedra's eyes glowed to convey the seriousness of the matter.
"It is of no concern. As long as you make an effort to control your noble aura, it should not happen again."
Inwardly, Belphegor was looking at Exedra with curious eyes.
'Is it because they are sins of lust? Their attitude towards their women is quite similar. '
"Enough, it's time for my question now." Belphegor floated closer to Exedra and asked him curiously, "How did you gain possession of the sin of lust while Asmodeus still breathes?"
"Is that something that you need to know?"
"I'm curious as to how you did the impossible."
"I have a unique ability is all that I can say." Exedra could not reveal the existence of his system to anyone.
He didn't trust Belphegor nearly enough to speak freely about his greatest strength.
Belphegor debated internally on if he really cared enough to press this matter further before ultimately deciding that he didn't need the headache. All he would do was watch his nephew closely and hope that eventually he slipped up.
"You've been in my castle far too long. Take your family and go and set up your own territory. Oh and clean up the mess you made." With that, the demon lord of sloth vanished from the room leaving Exedra to frown over his last words.
"Mess?"

Naturally, the humans did not take kindly to the destruction of an entire city.
Even though there were no traces left behind on who a potential culprit could be, the theory that spread wildly among the populace was that the demons had developed a horrible new weapon.
Because of that fact, attacks against the demons were increasing everywhere with more and more signs pointing towards all out war.
With various armies of humans on a rampage, the Sins could not have regained their strength at a more opportune time.
