Chapter 425 Enemy on the Move
Chapter 425 Enemy on the Move
*BAM!*
But Igni quickly moved and pulled me out of the way. She ended up leaving a palm mark on the tough, solid metal door, but it shouldn't be a problem, right?
"You're finally out."
As soon as we exited the place, Yu Na appeared, walking down the long flight of stairs just in time.
"I was just about to call you. We have an emergency."
"The Void Beast, right? We know."
"No? Wait, is it finally moving?!"
"...?"
Wait a minute, our conversation just went on in parallel. I raised my hand and asked what the "emergency" was, and learned something that I didn't want to handle at all.
"Actually, the kingdoms that were on the border were starting to raise their voices of discontent. They want to switch out with the other kingdoms and be in the center, where safety is guaranteed."
"Ugh..."
As expected, such complaints were raised.
I was expecting it since the start, but to think they'd happen within just a short time... From their perspective, it's barely a full day after they were teleported!
Of course, we couldn't just listen to them like that, as it would create a precedent. And then, every other kingdom that was placed on the edge would ask to get changed to an inner, more secure location within the formation.
"Just ignore them for now. Tell them that if they still want to move off the edge, we'll return them to their original position, which is probably teeming with god-level demons right now."
After relaying this, Yu Na nodded her head. As I was about to walk past her, she quickly extended her hand and grabbed my shoulder.
"Wait, what about the Void Beast? Is it true that it's moving?!"
I simply shrugged my shoulders before turning to Ember. She quickly understood what I was asking and showed a portable terminal, like a tablet, and passed it to Yu Na after tinkering with the settings.
Yu Na saw what was displayed on it, and her eyes went wide. There, the image of the humanoid Void Beast was moving, one step at a time, heading north.
"This is bad...!"
Her face turned pale as she commented.
"We need to alert the god tamers!"
Ember, however, waved her hand with an awkward smile, stopping Yu Na from bolting off.
"There's no need to, since I already did."
Yu Na tilted her head as she turned to Ember. Her eyes narrowed as she stared at her, as if unable to believe her eyes.
"You... reached God level?!"
She gasped in surprise, running to Ember's side and touching her all over.
"There's no mistaking it... You've actually broken through to God level!!"
"Ahn~! Hnngg!"
Ember moaned sensually as Yu Na grabbed her all over and even massaged her soft, puffy marshmallows. It was slowly getting out of hand, so I quickly pulled her away.
"That should be enough."
I whispered while hugging Ember tight, protecting her from Yu Na's molesting hands. Yu Na, as if snapping out of her trance, quickly realized what she had done and, with a slightly awkward expression, apologized.
"Uhm. Sorry about that. It just had been so long since another God Level had appeared that I... couldn't help myself."
"I-It's fine, Lady Yu Na... I don't mind it."
As her apology was accepted almost immediately, I didn't pursue the matter. Although it was slightly disappointing that I had to let Ember out of my embrace, we still had an urgent job to do.
Without further ado, Ember opened a portal leading to the surface. With her now being God-level, she could practically warp anywhere she would like to, other than places that were strictly barred by the Goddess of Space, Zeta.
As we reached the castle, Yu Na left to do her job, while the rest of us began to plan how to proceed.
"Although everyone here now could fight god-level demons one-on-one, we still don't have enough battle experience."
I quickly analyzed our situation as I looked at the large display that Ember promptly made.
As the new Goddess of Creation, she literally could create anything out of thin air in an instant. Well, technically, not an instant, since the duration of creation depends on the complexity of the object and her understanding of its structure.
But with Ember's new mastery of micro-electrical components, it didn't even take her a few seconds to whip out something like a 64" wide-screen LCD.
On it, the entire field was displayed, with a small window focusing on the zoomed-in figure of the Void Beast. It was walking toward the north without rushing, one step at a time. But even at that pace, just from its size, it would probably reach our location in under 24 hours.
We still have plenty of time to prepare.
"Then first, we should ask for the God tamers to cooperate!"
Now that there are new functions unlocked, we could use some of them to strengthen the current defenses even further!
Right now, however, I can't just call them to the castle, as they are busy protecting the borders from hordes of god-level demons. Although we have some leeway, it's still true that we're short on time, so waiting until they return from their tasks wouldn't be ideal.
Instead, I asked Ember to create a portal, something like a window, right beside each God tamer, to enable communication even while they're fighting.
"Woah!"
"What the?"
"..."
"Will...?"
Soon enough, Zeshion, Vermeil, Ajax, and Blanc's faces appeared from small window-like portals before me. Everyone should be able to see the other three too, as they're angled to do just that.
"Everyone, you must've noticed the new functions that got unlocked, right?"
I quickly explained, not planning to take more of their precious time.
"I want us to split up the current land the humans and monsters are living in and protect them using the Sanctuary function..."
Without delay, I explained my plans.
