Chapter 61 Dwarves' Location
The three of us went back to the large tent with a bounce to our steps. When we entered, God Zeshion and the other lady were wearing wry smiles.
"To think you really killed a Demon Tamer... Looks like I underestimated you, Will."
God Zeshion snicked bitterly.
By the looks of it, they seem to have witnessed our actions from earlier. It was probably thanks to the lady's skill.
"Well, I needed money for my weapon's repair. Thanks for the thing with the bullets, though."
I scratched the back of my head as I replied with a smile. Honestly, having a God Tamer to acknowledge you doesn't feel that bad.
"Bullets? Ah, the small things earlier? It's fine, don't mind it. Your weapon also looks cool, can you show it to me?"
God Zeshion looked at me expectantly.
Since there's no harm in just showing the gun, I took it out of the storage ring. As usual, it was still in the rifle form. I have no bullets for the SMG or the Pistol forms so I had no reason to change its form yet anyway.
"Here it is. Please be careful not to break it. Well, it's technically already broken though."
I lightly gave a warning. God Zeshion gently held the gun and touched it all over, studying its structure with a lot of curiosity.
"This weapon... It's powerful enough to enable you to kill those Demon Tamers. However, I can't feel a trace of energy from it. How did you do that then?"
Usually, weapons for tamers are more of a booster for their power instead of just an instrument to fight. I haven't inspected it closely yet, but God Zeshion uses the Sky Rending Dao Saber. I only saw it once when he saved me from the blade harpy's attack. The saber was said to amplify all water elements, which was the strongest element that God Zeshion can use. Therefore, his saber was overflowing with water energy.
For other tamers, it was mostly similar. They possess one or two weapons that can boost their strongest element. Such a weapon harbor the said element even before the wielder wields it.
It was probably God Zeshion's first time seeing a weapon that doesn't possess even a trace of energy like this.
"This weapon is called a gun. As you saw earlier, its power can reach unbelievable levels. But all that energy comes from the bullets, not from the gun itself."
I said as I took out a single bullet to show him again.
"When I press the trigger, the wind and fire energy explodes inside the case, sending the tip flying with the equivalent power of the initial explosion."
"What an amazing concept... To think such a weapon existed..."
God Zeshion exclaimed in awe.
"Where did you even get something like this?"
As he asked this, I hesitated whether to tell him the truth or not. In the end, I decided to brief him, but not tell him the specifics.
"I got this from the one who activated my system. She's my mentor."
Hearing the mention of the system, God Zeshion quickly asked "Can I meet this person too?"
I just shook my head. Probably seeing something from my expression, God Zeshion didn't pursue the matter any further.
"You mentioned that this weapon is broken right? Do you have plans to get it repaired?"
God Zeshion asked as if trying to change the topic. I nodded my head to his question.
"Yes. We're actually planning to head to Virgil Family's territory after our business with you here. We heard that the Dwarves were last seen near there."
"Dwarves?"
God Zeshion raised an eyebrow hearing this.
"Then I'll lend this to you, it should help you in finding those nasty bunch."
Saying so, he passed a small compass to me. It was about as wide as my palm with a red arrow pointing somewhere. There were no letters or anything written on it, so I can't figure out its purpose with just a look.
"This compass will always point to the Forge of the Ancients. It's the forge that those moles love to use. However, the location changes once every year, so without the compass, it would be hard to find it."
Realizing its purpose, I quickly realized just how valuable this item was. The dwarves were known for their dextrous fingers. The weapons they forge were undeniably stronger than your normal run-of-the-mill weapons. This means that there's not a small number of greedy guys looking for them 24/7.
Feeling that it was dangerous to keep the compass in the open, I quickly threw it into my storage ring.
"Thank you, God Zeshion. I'll promise to return your compass after our business with the dwarves."
Hearing my gratitude, God Zeshion just shook his head and smiled.
"Don't bother. I placed a trace of my soul on the compass, so I know its location no matter where it goes. I'll just get it back from you later when I have time."
Saying so, God Zeshion stood up with a humph.
"Is it fine for you to move already?"
I remember him saying that he couldn't move for the barrier he made might break.
"Ah, it's fine. The prisoners already escaped. All of them. I couldn't even do anything..."
Right, the lady said before that the Demon Tamers inside the barrier were trying to make a teleportation portal. They seemed to have taken advantage of the situation and managed to complete the portal before the others return.
"Then..."
I gulped. Wanted criminals of various ranks were released in the open. Although they don't have their tamed beasts anymore, their very existence was a threat to the peace of the country.
"Yes. It'll be a bit dangerous later on for this country."
God Zeshion continued outside the tent.
"So you should quickly finish your business and stay within the protection of a town's barriers."
After telling me that, God Zeshion vanished from his position. He probably moved to another location with space manipulation. His control was so precise that even in my eyes, only traces of space energy was left in his place.
