Chapter 14: Venturing Deep into the Beginner Adventurer Zone
Chapter 14: Venturing Deep into the Beginner Adventurer Zone
According to the laws of Colzen City, students of the adventurer academy are allowed to go inside the beginner adventurer zone.
However, they weren\'t allowed to go inside intermediate adventurer zones without an intermediate badge from the academy.
Knowing this, Shye walked toward the two guards and showed them his identification card as he patiently waited for the guards to finish examining his identification card.
After the guards confirmed that he was indeed a student of the Colzen Adventurer Academy, the guards allowed him to go inside.
Once the guards granted him access to the beginner adventurer zone, Shye took his identification card from the guards and walked towards the forest.
Once Shye\'s silhouette disappeared into the forest, the two guards breathed a sigh of relief.
"Damn! I talked to him so casually! I didn\'t know that he was someone in the top 20!"
"Yeah, me too. Fortunately, he was in a good mood and didn\'t cause any trouble for us!"
Shye didn\'t know that the guards talked about him nor did he care. He simply walked deeper and deeper into the forest to look for creatures.
After a few minutes of walking, he finally encountered a red fox.
Even before he got the system, he could already kill red foxes after exerting a bit of effort so this small red fox didn\'t pose any threat to him at all.
He quickly killed the fox with a single swing of his greatsword and harvested its small fangs, pelt, and claws.
"These should sell for a good few silvers." Shye thought to himself
Previously, he didn\'t have a student identification card so he wouldn\'t be able to sell the parts even if he harvested them so he just harvested the meat and took it home for Maia to eat.
In addition to this, he couldn\'t venture very deep before because he was still very weak and didn\'t have a proper weapon.
But now, Shye could finally harvest the dead bodies of every creature that he kills and earn money from it.
He carefully stored the harvested parts inside a huge sack bag that he brought with him earlier. Once he was done, he then proceeded deeper into the forest.
On the way, Shye encountered many creatures such as rabid rabbits, rough-skinned raccoons, and red foxes. Of course, he easily killed them all and harvested the sellable body parts.
Finally, after walking for a few more minutes, he encountered a foe which almost cost them their lives, a Greywolf."
"Greywolf huh?"
Shye reminisced about the time when he almost lost his life while trying to look for old man Sanada.
"Let\'s see how much I\'ve improved!"
Shye quickly charged at the greywolf and it was visibly shocked by Shye\'s speed. It tried to swipe at him once he was in range but he easily dodged the swipe by sidestepping.
"Too slow!"
Shye swung his greatsword downwards with all his might and as a result, the Greywolf was cleanly slashed vertically into two parts, making scarlet blood splatter all over the ground.
After killing the Greywolf so easily, Shye clenched his fists excitedly.
He was elated after seeing how strong he had become in just a little over a week after obtaining the system from old man Sanada.
Previously, he didn\'t dare to have any big dreams. As long as he could feed his little sister, then that\'s good enough for him.
However, after realizing that he had the potential to rise quickly among the ranks of adventurers, he started to dream that maybe one day, not only would he be able to provide a good life for his little sister, but he might also be able to investigate what happened to their parents.
He thought about how he and his little sister could live in a huge mansion, hire some servants, and purchase everything they wanted.
Not only that, thoughts such as helping those in need became very realistic for him.
Lately, he felt that his outlook on various things was changing.
Previously, he didn\'t care about things such as fame but after feeling the glory of being admired by those around him, he couldn\'t lie to himself any longer because he enjoyed it, every single moment was enjoyable for him.
"With this system, nothing is impossible for me!"
Shye smiled confidently and continued heading deeper and deeper into the forest.
He was amazed at how huge the beginner adventurer zone was and the deeper he went, the stronger the creatures he encountered.
The last creature he fought, the Irontusk boar, surprised him with how strong it was. He got a bit complacent so he didn\'t bother dodging its charge and directly slashed at it head-on.
To his surprise, his Iron Greatsword wasn\'t able to break through the tough tusks of the boar.
In addition to this, the boar was slightly stronger than him in terms of raw strength so he was pushed back after the clash.
Due to this, he was given another dose of reality.
He had to remain vigilant! He couldn\'t be overconfident here or he might lose his life!
After the boar gave him a wake-up call, Shye\'s expression turned serious.
He started carefully dodging the Irontusk boar\'s charges while slowly dealing damage to it whenever he got the chance.
The Irontusk boar finally collapsed from the accumulated damage after half an hour of fighting against Shye.
"That boar was tough, I have to remain vigilant. I was pretty lucky that the boar\'s attacks were predictable or the fight might\'ve ended differently because I was too overconfident."
Shye reminded himself.
He quickly butchered the boar and harvested some of its meat. This was the first time he killed an irontusk boar so he wanted to taste its meat.
Once he was finished harvesting the meat, pelt, and tusks, Shye continued exploring the forest.
Then, after just a few minutes of walking, he arrived at a beautiful lake with lots of aquatic plants such as water lilies, tall trees, and beautiful flowers.
A smile appeared on Shye\'s face after accidentally walking into such a beautiful place inside the beginner adventurer zone.
While he was admiring the view, Unbeknownst to him, a creature with glowing green eyes was staring at him from a thick branch of a tall tree behind him.
