Chapter 5 - Soul-refining streamer filled with twenty zombies and evil spirits

Getting up, the already strained clothing immediately shattered into pieces, falling to the ground. Wu Ping stood there naked, observing his transformed physique and feeling the power within his body. A wild and triumphant smile echoed through the night.

With the dual cultivation of body and law and the ability to absorb energy, Wu Ping felt like a formidable force capable of dominating both the world of superhumans and the realm of cultivators.

“Although the Black Emperor can’t resist soul attacks, I’m a cultivator!!”

“Soul attacks? What a joke!”

Boom! His fist struck the wall, instantly collapsing the reinforced concrete structure. Not a single white mark appeared on his hand. The body stored the shockwave force from the impact, ready to be released in any form of physical contact at Wu Ping’s will.

“I seem to have become a perpetual motion machine,” he mused, recalling Captain America’s words: “I can do this all day.”

Suddenly disappearing from the spot, Wu Ping reflected that he didn’t want to continue hunting zombies despite his terrifying physical strength. They were already dead, and it felt like a waste. He decided to replenish his spiritual power and return later for the hunt.

Wu Ping was not one to waste resources. Zombie crystal nuclei enhanced the body and abilities, blood was used for the blood flame technique, and raw souls regulated spiritual power in the soul-refining streamer. Every useful part had its purpose.

“I guess my future path is destined to be the dark path,” he remarked as he dressed on the bed. While he would accept legitimate means to strengthen himself, the conventional path seemed insufficient.

Although he felt confident, Wu Ping remained grounded. For ordinary disciples, he was indeed formidable but facing stronger opponents, he could only struggle. There’s a limit to ability absorption, and breaking through requires continuous enhancement of the zombie crystal nucleus.

The night was silent. Wu Ping effortlessly reached the sixth level of spiritual guidance, even advancing to the seventh without feeling the pain of mottled spiritual power. Improved innate talent brought benefits, but Wu Ping, striving for spiritual power quality and future growth, used the soul training streamer to convert zombie souls for control.

Making the best of things was Wu Ping’s mantra. He effortlessly commanded the soul-refining streamer as the night lingered, turning zombie souls into manageable evil spirits. It was a simple process, just requiring time and effort.

“Refining the soul streamer, rise!” Spells were cast as the streamer floated, revealing ferocious zombie souls. Wu Ping’s enhanced qualifications made progress swift, transforming the souls into evil spirits.

Efficiency mattered to Wu Ping. “Tastes good…” he remarked, working on converting zombie souls into controllable evil spirits. Despite consuming spiritual power, progress was fast. Dawn arrived as Wu Ping successfully condensed the transformed souls.

Wu Ping expanded the streamer dramatically, unleashing a room filled with evil spirits, a blend of ghostly eeriness and zombie ferocity. Despite the strain on his mind, he marvelled at the outcome. Unable to sleep, he had debts to collect.

Moreover, Wu Ping had planned to descend from the mountain for a mission. Ideally, he wouldn’t want to undertake this mission, but earning spirit stones and essential cultivation items like pills was crucial. While the zombie crystal nucleus enhanced the body and abilities, it didn’t contribute to Wu Ping’s realm growth—the true path lies in cultivating immortality for eternal life.

Staying within the Blood Rain Sect posed challenges in explaining his cultivation techniques, such as the soul-swallowing method, which was well-documented. This raised the question: where did Wu Ping’s pure spiritual power come from, and where did the living souls for cultivation originate?

Wu Ping hadn’t killed anyone. This raised suspicion about his extraordinary physical strength and the terror it brings. Cultivating immortality required being well-versed in the right techniques, and external activities, such as hunting zombies and refining soul streamers, served this purpose.

Now armed with major exercises and the ability to strengthen artefacts through extracting zombie souls, Wu Ping possessed varied attack methods. He had become a formidable hexagonal warrior, lacking only the ability to fly.

Given his capabilities, Wu Ping contemplated the wisdom of staying within the Blood Rain Sect. Instead, he considered taking on a mission, spending time outside, and returning later. He could always retreat to the doomsday realm and emerge stronger if faced with threats.

This way, he could advance, attack, retreat, and defend as needed. If all goes well, he can return, submit his tasks, apply to become an inner disciple and leverage that status to gather resources from the Wu family. Wu Ping lacked a sense of belonging to the family. He was ready to take it by force if they didn’t provide what he wanted.

Wu Ping saw no need to adhere to conventional reasoning as a demon cultivator. Perhaps outsiders would praise him for cutting off worldly ties and remaining steadfast in his beliefs. While he would care for his original parents, he planned to provide them with a life of comfort and security without excessive extravagance. Wu Ping believed he could achieve these goals.
