Chapter 564 - Gale And The Eccentric Old Man

Chapter 564 - Gale And The Eccentric Old Man

While Yana was busy training and merging the gravity force sword style with her own, Rain was suffering from pain beyond anything anyone could ever imagine. "Rain, you need to withstand it. Only by enduring the pain and taking in all the information will your mental strength improve, allowing for the process to become easier. Each time you undergo the baptism of the ley lines, the stronger your mental strength will be."

Gale was trying to give Rain as much support as she could. She knew the process of strengthening the mind by reading ley lines was very painful and a long process. But Rain never once complained. Although she might scream out in pain every so often, she still pushed on without rest. Days, weeks, months, even years passed, but Rain continued to take in the flow one ley line after the next.

Ten years later, a change began to surface on Rain's skin. Tribal patterns that only those of the spirit realm would receive began to form on her body. This was the sign that her baptism was now complete. A wave of warmth filled her body as the information that she was receiving from the ley lines entered her mind. She actually wanted to curse Gale for saying that the process wasn't as painful as the runes! She looked down at her flowing black dress and the new black tribal tattoos and let out a sigh of relief. "I'm part of the spirit race now, right?"

"Mmm… But to think you would become a spirit of time and space." Gale said in amazement as she flew over and looked Rain up and down. "I see no anomalies. Does someone in your family have a high aptitude for time and space magic?"

"Hmmm… My handsome papa and my mama both use it." Rain replied.

"So that is how it is. Rain." Gale's expression became serious as she looked Rain in the eye. "When you go to the realm of spirits, you have to be careful. The god of time and space is there, and he does not like others who have mastery over time and space threatening his position. He likes to kill off anyone who has the ability to manipulate time and space."

The spirit flames in Rain's eyes suddenly flared up and turned black as her anger rose. "So you're telling me this god of time and space will target me as soon as I enter the realm of spirits?"

"No! Not right away. He will not sense you right off unless you use your time and space abilities. I think it would be best to train them first before entering. I know someone who is a master of time and space magic. He can even be considered to be on par with the god of time and space. He is just a little… Eccentric." Gale frowned, she hated dealing with this man, but he was the only one who was worthy of teaching her disciple.

A week later, on a high mountain where a small castle was carved into the side of the mountainside. Gale flapped her wings as she hovered in the air next to Rain. They had traveled through many-dimensional gates to get to this place, and currently, Rain was feeling the pressure. She had no idea what realm she was in, but she could only sense powerful existences all around her. This feel sent cold sweat down her back as she knew she was in a place that she should not be in at her current level.

Gale flew over Rain's head before slowly falling and landing on top of it. She straddled the horn in the middle of her other two horns and patted the top of Rain's head. "Ignore the pressure. This is a place you should not be at yet. But I had to bring you here in order to have this freak train you. This is a place where only those who are able to break through the barrier of the sea of stars can go. One day you will be able to get here on your own. Anyway, this is where that freak lives. Just enter the gate here, and we will enter his little space where the pressure from the outside will no longer bear down on you."

"Mmm…" Rain took a deep breath and stepped forward. As soon as she did, she felt as if her body passed through a kind of membrane. The scene changed, and instead of a castle on a mountainside, she was met with a small cottage in an open grassy field. A long dirt path led up to this small cottage and was surrounded by ankle-high grass and flowers.

"Not what you expected, huh?" Gale asked with a smile.

"Not at all. I guess the castle was just to give you pressure and make you think twice before entering the gate." Rain replied. She could only assume this to be the case, otherwise, what was the point of putting a castle there. As the two went to step forward a sound that sounded like a siren could be heard coming towards them.

"Geh!" Gale quickly buried herself in Rain's hair to hide as an old man appeared in front of Rain.

The old man looked around, even moving Rain from side to side, and lifted her up to look under her feet. When he put her down, he looked Rain over from head to toe before yelling out: "Your not Gale! Where is she!? Quickly strip, let's see what you are hiding her!"

"You damn old pervert!" Gale yelled out as she flew out of Rain's hair and kicked the old man in the eye.

"Ahhh! My eye! Gale! How I missed you!" The old man held his eye as she reached out with his free hand to grab at Gale only to have it kicked away, sending him spinning in a circle.

Rain looked on in disbelief as to what was going on. She looked at Gale and then looked at the old man and suddenly felt like something was off. "Gale, this is…?"

"Just an old pervert with a fairy fetish!" Gale snorted as she flew back over to Rain's head and sat down.

"Gale, that is not fair, I only want to kiss and hug you! We have been marri… muph!!!" Gale quickly kicked the old man's chin making him bite his own tongue knocking him out.
