Chapter 339 - Envoy Part 2
Chapter 339 - Envoy Part 2
"Creige, I know what I am asking is too much, but I have no choice. Can you please do me this one favor?" The dwarven king did not raise his head and continued to press it firmly onto the cold weapon shop floor.
"Creige, what is he talking about?" Kana finally asked. She had been standing there quietly this entire time, but no one was telling her what was going on.
"It\'s like this…" Baldswin gave Kana the rundown as to what was going on. Only then did Kana finally understand.
"I see… Then…" Kana looked at Creige. From what she understood was if these people from the desolate race decided to start a war, it would not be good for anyone.
Creige brow furrowed as he finally nodded his head. "I will help, but I am not doing this for you. But for my wife. And this is because if war breaks out, we will be dragged into it even if we do not want to be."
The dwarven king raised his head, tears streaming down his face, before slamming it down onto the stone floor again. "Thank you! I, as the king of Stone Hammer, will grant any wish you may have once this is all resolved."
"Just prepare a carriage to the castle. We will leave in two hours." Creige\'s voice was still cold. He really did not want to deal with this, but he had to think of Kana\'s happiness as well.
After the dwarven king left, Kana held Creige hands and looked up at him. "Mad?"
"No. I know we would end up getting involved one way or another. The desolate race may like to stay hidden and away from society, but if their kin dies and dies in the manner that this girl did, then they will soak the continent in blood. It is best if we can avoid war if at all possible, especially if their deities get involved. At which point I will force you to leave with me." Creige couldn\'t risk Kana getting hurt. She was carrying their babies on the way as it was.
"Mm… but if things got too far out of hand, I could always summon Big Sister." If anyone could stop a war from breaking out, it would be Camlia. And with how Camlia was still her summon and also her blood sister, she would not hesitate to help.
"I would prefer not to have to summon her…" Creige brow furrowed. Although powerful, he hated the fact that she latched on to Kana and interrupted their alone time.
"I will use it as a last resort. I also do not wish to bother Big Sister since she has a lot to do." Kana knew Camlia was busy now that hell had reclaimed all the land from ancient times. So she would not summon her unless it was absolutely necessary. But she did have one more trump card that would work as well.
An hour later, a luxurious carriage with the royal family\'s emblem on it pulled up out front of the weapon shop. Kana and Creige walked out to see two dwarven girl maids standing there with their heads bowed. "The king has sent us to escort you to the castle."
"Mm…" Creige walked right past the maids and helped Kana up onto the carriage. He didn\'t even give them a second look. But these maids were not new to this, and this is why they were sent. They knew just how overbearing the demon of Stone Hammer could be. But what amazed them the most was how gentle he was being to the girl at his side.
"Oh? This is nice." Kana said as she looked around the spacious carriage. It had comfortable seats, and also a table with a tray of pastries and tea spread out. The two maids had also gotten back onto the carriage and went right to work serving the two. Not once did they lift their heads to look at Creige or Kana. They were strictly told not to make too many sudden movements that might anger one of the two. And they were told to take extra care of the woman at Creige side.
The dwarven king was not stupid. He had taken note of how Creige treated the girl along with the plump belly. And after hearing, Creige say his wife, he knew right away that he should never slight this woman. But he also knew if it was not for Creige\'s wife Creige would never have agreed to do this.
The carriage rolled down the smooth stone streets making its way to the castle. Unlike the king whose carriage would warp to the castle gates, the one they were given did not have such a magi tool. Nor did the king dare to give them such a carriage. Since Creige did not ask for it it meant he did not want it. Luckily the king was perceptive in these matters because Creige did not want to arrive at the castle quickly. He wanted to let Kana rest a while and enjoy the ride on the way there. It was her first time seeing the city after all.
While Kana and Creige were enjoying a relaxing ride to the castle. Another carriage had just appeared at the edge of the mountain at a checkpoint. Inside were three girls. "I can\'t believe you got Grandfather to let us be the envoys First Sister. How did you do it?"
"Let\'s not talk about that… Anyway it is better than having those warmongers taking the lead. If they were the ones to come then this would not be a peaceful envoy. No matter what happens. We will need to keep a level head about us."
"We will do as First Sister says." The two other girls nodded their heads in unison. They still had a day\'s journey to go. But with no news on what happened to their fourth sister the three girls couldn\'t help but feel anxious.
