Chapter 640: On the Boat

Chapter 640: On the Boat

There was a small stove burning in the cabin. Although the stove was small, it warmed the cabin. Song Jia laid out the two fluffy cushions. After Lu Zhen sat down, he asked again, “Are you seasick?”

Lu Zhen shook her head slowly. She had filmed at sea in her previous life, so she was not seasick. Song Jia heaved a sigh of relief and stood up to inform the boatman outside. Soon, Lu Zhen felt the ship sway before slowly floating on the water.

After Song Jia returned from outside, Lu Zhen saw him take out a few round things from a bag beside her seat. She took a closer look and realized that it was a sweet potato.

Lu Zhen was stunned. There were really sweet potatoes?

Song Jia placed the barbed wire on the stove in front of their seats and placed the sweet potatoes on it. The two of them remained silent. Soon, the air was filled with a hint of sweetness, and the fragrance of sweet potatoes gradually filled the entire small cabin.

Lu Zhen looked at the sweet potatoes and finally couldn’t help but ask, “Where are we going?”

Song Jia was about to speak when there was a notification on his cell phone.

He took out his cell phone and replied briefly after reading the message. Lu Zhen frowned and a trace of suspicion flashed across her heart. She said coldly, “It can’t be her, right?”

Song Jia looked up at Lu Zhen helplessly and explained, “It’s your brother.”

At the mention of Jiang Kai, Lu Zhen was furious. To think that she had kindly accompanied him out on a cold day. He had actually lied to her! Perhaps because he could tell that Lu Zhen was a little depressed, Song Jia said, “If you’re angry, blame me. I forced your brother to bring you out.”

Lu Zhen did not say anything. She looked at the sweet potatoes on the stove and said after a moment, “It’s time to flip them.”

Song Jia lowered his head, took out a small pair of tongs, and flipped the sweet potato. After that, the two of them fell into a short silence again. Lu Zhen didn’t want to say anything now, but Song Jia knew that it wasn’t appropriate for him to say anything. In their silence, the sound of running water around the ship was very obvious.

Song Jia’s phone lit up again. After replying, he went out to talk to the boatman. After Song Jia entered again, Lu Zhen couldn’t help but ask, “What’s wrong?”

“I’m going to pick up your brother,” Song Jia explained.

Not long after, the boat stopped by the shore. Jiang Kai, who was carrying a package in both hands, jumped onto the boat.

As Jiang Kai had jumped onto the boat rather roughly, the old boat shook violently. Lu Zhen was not prepared at all. Her body fell to the side, and Song Jia, who had been paying attention to her, grabbed her arm in time.

After Lu Zhen stabilized herself, Song Jia quickly let go, as if he was afraid that Lu Zhen would hate him.

Lu Zhen said calmly, “Thank you.”

They were as distant as strangers who had just met. After Jiang Kai entered the cabin, he put down the package. After opening the package, he took out a pile of things. There were sliced meat, skewers, various seasoning boxes, and a few bottles of soju.

Lu Zhen did not know where he got these things.

Jiang Kai rubbed his hands and took out a small stove from the corner of the cabin. After lighting the stove, he placed the barbed wire on the stove and placed the meat slices and skewers on it.

Lu Zhen glared at Jiang Kai, whose face was red from the cold. Thinking of how Jiang Kai had lied to her, condemnation and questioning gradually appeared in her eyes. Jiang Kai smiled guiltily and pointed at the sweet potatoes on the other stove. “Sister, I’m not completely lying to you. Don’t we have sweet potatoes?”

Lu Zhen resisted the urge to roll her eyes and could not be bothered with him.

Jiang Kai lifted the bamboo curtain on the wall of the cabin next to him. Behind the bamboo curtain was a glass window. Through the glass window, he could see the scenery on the shore and the light snow falling from the sky.

“It’s snowing again,” Jiang Kai muttered and sighed. “In this weather, eating roasted meat and drinking soju on the ship is really exciting. If I knew how to write poems, I would write two lines.”

Lu Zhen and Song Jia had no intention of paying attention to him.

Jiang Kai smiled awkwardly and took out his phone. He opened the camera app and patted the two small stoves. Then, he took a photo of the scenery outside the ship and said, “Although I don’t know how to write poems, I still know how to take photos and post them on my Moments. Hehe..”
