Chapter 96 - The Hospitals Laboratory
Chapter 96: The Hospital’s Laboratory
In order not to disturb Xiao Ying, Keith and Luna stood outside the glass door of the laboratory. Slowly, more and more people gathered, including doctors and nurses.
They had never seen a scientist experiment on the spot before.
Looking at her perform laboratory techniques with familiarity, Luna knew that she was no stranger to experimentation in the lab.
Xiao Ying placed the herbs separately and purified them bit by bit. She experimented with them, changing the formula a couple of times, but none of them worked.
She closed her eyes and slowly tried to recall other methods in her mind.
Suddenly, she had a burst of inspiration.
By now, it was close to midnight, and only Keith and Luna remained outside the door.
Xiao Ying looked at her watch and quickened her movements. A thin film slowly formed on her hand.
She then took out a metal lump and smashed it into a semicircle.
Keith and Luna watched with their bare eyes how Xiao Ying transformed from a gentle and refined scientist to a hammer-wielding violent woman.
Keith turned to look at Luna beside him and said, “No wonder she likes you.”
Luna glared at Keith.
Xiao Ying’s movements became faster and faster. Currently, it was already early noon. Since Qin Yue did not see Xiao Ying coming, he asked the nurse to help him up, preparing to repeat the movements he had done yesterday.
The nurse advised, “Why don’t we wait for Miss Xiao Ying to come?”
Qin Yue shook his head, attempting to stand. The nurse could only rush over to support him.
He broke out in a cold sweat after just taking two steps, and his face was paler than yesterday.
Qin Yue was completely relying on sheer willpower. His eyes already lost focus from the pain, and only his body was still moving.
This was the scene Xiao Ying saw when she rushed over. She quickly helped Qin Yue to the bed and sat him down. She said, “Don’t be anxious. Next time, you can skip the physical therapy if I don’t come.”
Qin Yue did not speak, but his gaze was determined.
Xiao Ying’s heart softened. “I know you are anxious to recover, but forcefully resisting is not a solution. I brought you something.”
As she spoke, she took out a bag from behind her. This was the result of her busy night.
Keith followed over and said, “Xiao Ying didn’t sleep for an entire night. She was busy until now making this thing.”
Qin Yue’s eyes moved as he said, “Thank you.”
Xiao Ying waved her hand indifferently and said, “It was only because I saw that you were in too much pain. Nobody else besides you would be able to withstand this kind of treatment. So actually, I should be the one thanking you.”
Keith smiled and said, “Stop thanking each other. If you need anything in the future, just let each other know.”
Xiao Ying took out a thin jelly-like film and placed it gently on his leg.
She then took out a piece of metal and covered it over the thin film to act as support, with four tubes acting as a brace on the knee. “Try to get up and walk around now.”
The doctors who had heard the news also came to watch, waiting to witness the miracle about to happen.
Qin Yue tried to step on the ground with his foot and found that there was no pain. With Xiao Ying’s encouragement, he took two steps and said, “It hurts a little, but there’s barely any sensation. Everyone should be able to bear it.”
He still remembered Xiao Ying’s words from before, which was why he was trying to articulate everything he was feeling.
The doctors looked at Qin Yue, who still needed someone to support him to walk just yesterday. Now, he could walk steadily on his own. They all spontaneously began clapping for Xiao Ying.
Xiao Ying heaved a sigh of relief as well. She looked at Qin Yue and said, “You can walk for half an hour daily, but remember not to walk too much. It won’t be good if you exceed the limits of your body.”
Qin Yue nodded seriously.
Xiao Ying was pulled away by everyone again. She had to make up for the lessons that she had promised yesterday.
It was Keith who stopped them and told them to let Xiao Ying rest.
The doctors apologized guiltily. In their excitement, they had forgotten that Xiao Ying had not slept at all last night.
